SPECIFICATIONS
UNPACKING and ASSEMBLING
1. Remove heater from carton.
2. Remove all protective material which may have been applied
to the heater for shipment.
3. Check the appliance for possible shipping damage and
straighten out all hoses to remove any kinks or twists. If any
damage is found immediately contact the manufacturer at
1-800-251-0001.
4. Install handle assembly by screwing them into place.
5. Attach the supplied regulator by rotating the t-wing nut in a
“clockwise” direction carefully not to over tighten.
6. Attach the LP cylinder to the regulator by rotating in a
“clockwise” direction. Only use LP cylinders with proper fuel
type approved for the appliance must be used. Check for gas
leaks with soapy water.
DO NOT USE A FLAME TO CHECK FOR LEAKS.
CAUTION: Certified for use only with Liquid Propane
LP-gas cylinders of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) or Transport Canada, CAN/CSA B339.

OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
Propane is heavier than air. If propane leaks from a connection or
fitting, it sinks to the floor, collecting there with the surrounding
air, forming a potentially explosive mixture. During set up check
all connections and fittings for leaks using soapy water. Never use
flame. Bubbles indicate a leak. Check that the connection is not
cross threaded and that it is tight. Perform another leak check.
If there is still a leak, remove the cylinder and contact Basecamp
direct for service or repair.
• Use for water heating only. Never alter in anyway or use with
any device or part not expressly approved by BaseCamp.
• This appliance is designed to be used with a source water
temperature of 60°F or below
• The maximum temperature rise from the appliances 35º F to
the shower head and 42º F to the tap from the source water
temperature
• For safety the appliance is designed to shut off the burner
when the water temperature from either of the outlets
reaches 125°°F
• XB13 will operate up to 75 minutes between battery changes
• The average run time for the XW18 from a fully charged
battery is 20 to 30 mins before it will require recharging
• The XW18 can be operated while connected to AC or DC,
however the battery will only receive charge when pump is
not operating. When the pump is off the battery will receive
charge.
• During operation ensure that all air inlets and exhaust
(front,sides and back) are kept free from obstructions and
closure.
SAFETY FEATURES
This appliance is equipped with the following safety
features:
• Over Temperature Sensor – the appliance will not
allow the burner to remain in operation once the outlet
water temperature reaches 125ºF.
• Water Flow Sensor – water must be flowing through
the system to allow the burner to ignite. In the case
that the water supply is restricted or ceases, the burner
will be extinguished and will not relight.
• Tilt Switch – in the event that the appliance is moved
during operation or is being operated on an unstable
or non-solid surface the appliance will shut down and
must be switched off until a suitable surface is located.
CONTROL PANEL
OPERATING SHOWER INSTRUCTIONS
1. MODEL (XB13) Make sure to insert 4 D cell batteries in the
pump power pack and 2 D cell batteries in under side of battery
compartment.. (Fig.1)Attach pump hose with quick connect fitting
to the back inlet hose connection.(Fig.2)
Model (XW18) Have the heater fully charged or AC input
plugged in also have the pump plugged in properly.

OPERATING TAP
INSTRUCTIONS(Model XW18 Only)
1. Swing the tap away from its storage position and locate to-
wards the side of the appliance and locate a basin or bucket
beneath and locate the water flow to the central position.
2. The water temperature can be adjusted by moving the flow
valve between “Min & Max” as this will slow or increase the
water flow resulting in an increase or decrease in the outlet
temperature.
IMPORTANT: Running water for an extended period of time
in the low flow position (-) can trigger the High Limit Switch
causing burner to stop.
APPLIANCE POWER & CHARGING
(Model XW18)
1. The appliance is fitted with a 15V 5A/hr battery pack and can
be recharged with the AC adaptors /supplied.
2. Check the “Battery Indicator” that sufficient power is
available, if not connect to the AC adaptor.
3. Attach the shower hose using the Quick Connect Fitting. Model
XB13 attaches to inlet connection located on the front side of
shower. (Fig. 2)
Model XW18 attaches to the faucet. (Fig. 3)
4. Submerge the pump in a suitable reservoir of water. Maintain
pump fully submerged in water as the pump is being used as
pump motor can be damaged if not.
DO NOT use water direct from rivers, lakes sediments
from these bodies of waters can damage pump and the
appliance. DO NOT use in ocean in which salt water can
damage the pump and appliance.
WARNING: there are possible health effects from microbes
that might be present in these bodies of waters rivers, lakes
and oceans.
5. Screw propane clockwise into shower regulator then depress
the power button,the electronic ignition should be heard
igniting the burner. The XB13 model press the start button
on the pump power pack.
6. Take care to measure the temperature of the water from the
shower head, the temperature can be adjusted by turning the
temperature control knob until the desired level is reached.
IMPORTANT – Water remaining in the heat exchanger while the
flow is stopped may become hot. When the flow is resumed the
user must check the temperature output to ensure that it is
suitable and not too hot.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING: To prevent personal injury unplug the appliance from
any electrical outlets.
STORING
1. Press the “Power” button & turn the
appliance off.
2. Disconnect all hoses and hold vertically allowing all excess
water to drain from them. With the shower head check that
the flow regulation switch is in the
“ON” position.
3. Return the tap to its locked position if
being used.
4. Unscrew the LP cylinder from the appliance
5. Unscrew the drain plug which is located on the underside
towards the pump inlet connection then tip the appliance
towards the back and to one side to drain excess water from
the heat exchanger via the water inlet.
Using warm soapy water with a mild detergent wipe down all sur-
faces and areas of the appliance. DO NOT submerge the appliance
in a sink or bowl. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or bleach. DO
NOT run soapy water through the heat exchanger.
3. Connect to the power inlet socket at the rear of the appliance
and the battery Indicator LED will stay a steady “RED” confirm-
ing that the battery is now charging. Once the unit is fully
charged the battery Indicator LED will change to “Green”.

4. AC: Connect the three (3) pin plug to a suitable outlet then
connect to the appliance & switch on the AC outlet.
• DO NOT USE – AC to DC converters or modify the adaptors
supplied with the appliance.
• Charge time from either power source is 4 hours, 50% battery
capacity can be reached after 2 hours however to maintain
battery life & condition it is recommended that the unit is
allowed to charge for the full 4 hours.
• IMPORTANT – If the appliance is not being used or is stored
it must be recharged every three months to guarantee the
battery life expectancy, failure to do so may result in
battery failure.
WIRING DIAGRAM
CAUTION: Label all wires prior to disconnecting when servicing controls. Wiring errors can cause improper and dangerous operation.
The parts lists and wiring diagram show the appliance as it was constructed. Do not use a heater which is different from that
shown. Service should be done by qualified service technician.

SPÉCIFICATIONS
DÉBALLAGE et ASSEMBLAGE
1. Retirer l'appareil de son emballage.
2. Retirer tout le matériel protecteur qui aurait pu être appliqué
au dispositif de chauffage pour l'expédition.
3. Vérifier l'appareil pour tout dommage possible lors de
l'expédition et redresser tous les tuyaux tordus ou pliés.
Si vous décelez un dommage quelconque, contacter
immédiatement le fabricant au 1-800-251-0001.
4. Installer l'assemblage de la poignée en vissant le tout en
place.
5. Fixer le régulateur fourni en tournant l'écrou à ailette en T
dans le sens horaire en prenant soin de ne pas trop serrer.
6. Fixer le cylindre GPL au régulateur en tournant dans le sens
horaire. Utiliser seulement des cylindres GPL avec le bon type
de combustible approuvé pour l'appareil à utiliser. Déceler
toute fuite de gaz avec de l'eau savonneuse.
NE PAS UTILISER UNE FLAMME POUR DÉCELER LES FUITES.

PRECAUCIONES DE UTILIZACIÓN
El propano es más pesado que el aire. Cuando el propano escapa de
una conexión o acople, desciende hacia el piso y se acumula allí con
el aire circundante, formando una mezcla potencialmente explosiva.
Durante la preparación, revise todas las conexiones y acoples con
agua y jabón para asegurarse de que no tengan fugas. Nunca use
una llama. Las fugas se manifiestan mediante burbujas. Verifique que
las conexiones estén bien enroscadas y ajustadas. Realice otra prueba
para detectar fugas. Si todavía detecta una fuga, remueva el tanque
de gas y llame directamente a Basecamp para que lo reparen.
• Úselo únicamente para calentar agua. Nunca lo altere de
ninguna forma ni lo use con otro dispositivo o parte no
aprobada expresamente por Basecamp.
• Este artefacto está diseñado para usarse con una fuente de agua
a una temperatura máxima de 60 °F.
• El aumento máximo de temperatura del artefacto es 35 °F
hasta el cabezal de la ducha y 42 °F hasta el grifo, desde la
temperatura del agua de entrada.
• Por seguridad, el artefacto está diseñado para apagar el
quemador cuando la temperatura del agua en cualquiera de las
salidas alcanza los 125 °F.
• La XB13 funcionará hasta por 75 minutos antes de tener que
reemplazar la batería.
• El tiempo promedio de funcionamiento de la XW18 con una
batería completamente cargada es de 20 - 30 minutos antes de
tener que recargarla.
• La XW18 puede funcionar conectada a una fuente de CA o de
CC, pero la batería se cargará únicamente cuando la bomba no
esté funcionando. Cuando la bomba esté apagada la batería
recibirá carga.
• Verifique que ninguna de las entradas y salidas de aire (frente,
costados y atrás) estén obstruidas cuando esté funcionando.
CARACTERÍSTICAS DE SEGURIDAD
Este artefacto está equipado con las siguientes características
de seguridad:
• Sensor de sobre temperatura - el artefacto no permitirá que
el quemador siga funcionando una vez que la temperatura
del agua llegue a los 125 °F.
• Sensor de flujo de agua - el agua debe estar fluyendo por el
sistema para que se encienda el quemador. Si el suministro
de agua se restringe o se corta, el quemador se apagará y no
se volverá a encender.
• Interruptor de inclinación - si el artefacto se mueve cuando
está funcionando o si se está usando sobre una superficie
inestable o no sólida, se apagará y habrá que apagarlo hasta
ubicarlo sobre una superficie adecuada.

INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN DE LA DUCHA
1. Modelo (XB13): Asegúrese de instalar 4 baterías D en el bloque
de alimentación y 2 baterías D debajo del compartimiento de las
baterías (Fig. 1). Instale la manguera de la bomba con el conector
rápido en la conexión de entrada de la parte de atrás. (Fig. 2).
Modelo (XW18): Tenga el calentador completamente cargado
o enchufado en CA, también tenga la bomba enchufada
correctamente.

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO DEL GRIFO
(Para modelo XW18 solamente)
1. Extienda el grifo desde su posición de almacenamiento y
apúntelo hacia el costado del artefacto, sobre un balde o un
recipiente, y ajuste el flujo de agua en su posición central.
2. La temperatura del agua se puede ajustar moviendo la válvula
de flujo entre "Min y Max" ya que al disminuir o aumentar el
flujo se obtiene un aumento o disminución
de la temperatura a la salida.
ALIMENTACIÓN Y CARGA DEL
ARTEFACTO (Modelo XW18)
1. El artefacto viene con una batería de 15 V/ 5 A/h y se puede
recargar con el adaptador de CA incluido.
2. Verifique que el "indicador de batería" indique que tiene
suficiente carga disponible, de los contrario conéctelo al
adaptador de CA.
3. Conecte la manguera de la ducha con el acople de conexión
rápida. El modelo XB13 se acopla al conector de entrada que
está en el frente de la ducha. (Fig. 2).
El modelo XW18 se acopla al grifo. (Fig. 3).
4. Sumerja la bomba en un recipiente adecuado de agua.
Mantenga la bomba completamente sumergida en agua
mientras la use ya que si no lo hace podría dañar el motor.
NO use agua directamente de ríos o lagos ya que los
sedimentos que contienen pueden dañar la bomba y el
artefacto. NO la use con agua de mar, ya que el agua salada
puede dañar la bomba y el artefacto.
ADVERTENCIA: el agua de ríos y lagos pueden contener
microbios que presenten un riesgo para su salud.
5. Atornille el tanque de propano en sentido horario en
el regulador de la ducha y luego presione el botón de
encendido, deberá escuchar el encendido electrónico
encendiendo el quemador. En modelo XB13, presione el
encendido del módulo de alimentación de la bomba.
6. Asegúrese de medir la temperatura del agua que sale por la
ducha, la temperatura se puede ajustar girando la perilla de
control de temperatura hasta obtener el nivel deseado.
IMPORTANTE - El agua que queda en el intercambiador de
calor al detener la circulación puede calentarse. Al resumir la
circulación el usuario debe revisar la temperatura del agua de
salida para verificar que sea adecuada y no demasiado caliente.

MANTENIMIENTO
ADVERTENCIA: Para evitar lesiones personales, desenchufe el
artefacto del tomacorriente.
ALMACENAMIENTO
1. Presione el botón de encendido para apagar el artefacto.
2. Desconecte todas las mangueras y manténgalas
verticalmente para que salga todo el agua de ellas. Verifique
que el regulador de flujo de la ducha esté en la posición de
"ON".
3. Vuelva a colocar el el grifo en su posición de traba si es que
lo ha usado.
4. Desenrosque el tanque de LP del artefacto.
5. Desenrosque el tapón de drenaje que está ubicado en la
parte de abajo, cerca de la entrada de la bomba, luego
incline el artefacto hacia atrás y hacia un costado para drenar
el exceso de agua del intercambiador de calor a través de la
entrada de agua.
Limpie todas las superficies del artefacto con agua y jabón
suave. NO sumerja el artefacto en el agua. NO utilice limpiadores
abrasivos ni lavandina. NO haga circular agua con jabón por el
intercambiador de calor.
3. Conéctelo al enchufe de entrada de alimentación en la parte
de atrás del artefacto y el indicador de batería comenzará a
parpadear confirmado que se está cargando la batería.

4. CA: Conecte el enchufe de tres (3) patas en un tomacorriente
adecuado, conéctelo al artefacto y encienda el tomacorriente
de CA.
• NO USE conversores de CA-CC ni modifique el adaptador que
viene con el artefacto.
• El tiempo de carga de cualquiera de las fuentes de alimentación
es de 4 horas. Puede obtener el 50% de carga de la batería en
2 horas, pero le recomendamos que deje cargando la unidad
durante 4 horas para mantener la vida útil y el rendimiento de
la batería.
• IMPORTANTE - Si no utiliza el artefacto o si lo almacena, deberá
recargarlo cada tres meses para garantizar la expectativa de
vida de la batería, de no hacerlo podría dañar la batería.

CUIDADO: Marque todos los cables antes de desconectarlos al reparar los controles. Un error en el cableado puede causar un funciona-
miento inadecuado y peligroso.
