MS Semen Storage Pro 150
Introduction
This manual provides instructions on installing, using and maintaining the MS Semen
Storage Pro 150 –to ensure correct installation and operation. You should only perform
installation after carefully reading and understanding this manual.
Improper use of the installation could cause danger or damage to the installation or other
goods and materials. Therefore, only use the installation in technically perfect condition, and
only for the purpose for which it was designed.
No technical changes to the installation are permitted, unless the manufacturer has given
express written permission. Without the abovementioned permission, the manufacturer's
warranty becomes void. This guide contains information regarding operation, maintenance
and tracing and troubleshooting faults. You should take note of all relevant information in this
manual before installing or operating the system. This is important for averting material
damage and personal injury. Careful and precise assembly results in good operation.
In the design of this installation, MS Schippers has given special attention to safety during
installation, operation and maintenance. However, it remains the user's responsibility to
observe the safety regulations during working operations.
The MS Semen Storage Pro 150 is a sperm storage cabinet with a whopping 150-litre
volume, suitable for Professional farmers and breeders. Temperature control is extremely
accurate, with additional cooling and heating capacity to maintain the optimum temperature,
keeping it stable and consistent.

MS Semen storage
The 150-litre MS Semen Storage Pro 150 is especially designed for storing diluted semen at
17 °C. It has built-in heating, cooling and air circulation, which keeps the internal temperature
constant at 17 °C in all ambient temperatures between -10 °C and + 35 °C.
Recommendations
Keep the MS Semen Storage Pro 150 upright at all times during transport or
movement.
Avoid shocks during movements.
We advise you to turn off the MS Semen Storage Pro 150 when not in use, to save
electricity.
Do not place the MS Semen Storage Pro 150 in direct sunlight, because that will lead
to higher energy consumption.
Do not install the MS Semen Storage Pro 150 in animal housing or other possibly
corrosive environments.
Before using the MS Semen Storage Pro 150, always check the temperature, shown
on the door-mounted thermometer.
Do not overfill the MS Semen Storage Pro 150. Semen packs should be laid flat on
the shelves.
Do not place any products against the grills at the rear of the MS Semen Storage Pro
150. Proper air circulation is essential.
The MS Semen Storage Pro 150 comprises no user serviceable parts. In case of
problems, always contact customer service at MS Schippers.
Installing the MS Semen Storage Pro 150
Place the MS Semen Storage Pro 150 on a flat, dry, horizontal surface in a dust-free
environment.
To ensure proper air circulation, you should always allow at least 150 mm free space
on either side of the MS Semen Storage Pro 150.
Leave the unit switched off during the first 24 hours after transport!
Plug into a standard 230 V 13 A mains outlet.
The MS Semen Storage Pro 150 will take a certain amount of time to reach the set
temperature, depending on the ambient temperature.

The MS Semen Storage PRO 150 Display
(1) "RUN" will illuminate when the MS Semen Storage Pro 150 is running.
(2) "HEAT" will illuminate when the heating element is active, and will go out when it is
switched off.
(3) "COOL" will illuminate when the storage cabinet is cooling, and will go out when
refrigeration is disengaged.
(4) "ALMI" will illuminate and a buzzer will sound whenever the measured temperature varies
from the required level by more than 3 degrees.
(5) "UV" will illuminate when the UV lamp is on and will go out when the lamp is off.
(6) The "Setting" button allows you to check or regulate set temperature or turn the UV-light
on and off, and to set a disinfection period and other relevant parameters.
(7) The "UV-Light" button allows you to turn the UV-light on and off, and set the duration.
(8) “▲” Up – pressing this button increases the value showing in the display. Holding this
button down will increase the value rapidly. When used on a display with no value
showing, this button serves to increase display clarity.
When the display light is out you can push this button to put it back on
(9) “▼” Down – pressing this button decreases the value showing in the display. Holding this
button down will decrease the value rapidly.

Adjusting the default temperature
By default, the MS Semen Storage Pro 150 is set at 17 °C but you can set it to the precise
temperature you require.
Figure 1 shows you the standard menu on the MS Semen Storage Pro 150. The 20 °C is the
actual compartment temperature and 17 °C is the set value, to which the unit must be
cooled/ heated.
The MS Semen Storage Pro 150 has four buttons. They allow you to go through all the steps
in the menu. To adjust the default temperature, simply press the button on the extreme right
("Settings") once. You can see the screen that will follow in figure 2.
Using the up “▲” and down buttons “▼” you can adjust the default value of 17 °C to the
required temperature. Pressing one more time on "Settings" will bring you to a screen that
allows you to adjust UV-light timing. If there is no need to change anything here, simply press
"settings" again, to return to the start screen.
Adjusting the default UV-light settings
By default, the MS Semen Storage Pro 150 has its UV-light setting at 0 minutes. You can set
it to suit your requirements.

To adjust the default UV-light setting, simply press the button on the extreme right
("Settings") twice. You can see the screen that will follow in figure 4.
Using the up “▲” and down “▼” you can adjust the default value of 0 minutes to the required
time. This is only possible in steps of one minute. Once you have the required time, press
once more on "Settings" to return to the start menu.
Turning on the UV-light
To turn on the UV-light, you need to hold the UV-light button down for five seconds. Figure 4
shows you what you will see on the display.
A question shows at the top of the LCD display. Using the up “▲” and down “▼” you can
switch from "N" to "Y". Choose "Y" to switch the lamp on. Then press the "UV-Light" button
once more, and the lamp will illuminate.
If you want to stop the lamp prematurely, you need to press and hold the "UV-Light" button
for 5 seconds.
It is also possible to leave the UV-light on continuously. In that case, the set time must be at
zero. When a set time is programmed, turning the UV-light on and off works in the same way
as above.
You should never turn on the UV-light when there is semen in
the storage cabinet!
