ThemainboardsupportsAMD Athlon64processor. The mainboardusesaCPUsocket
calledSocket-939 foreasyCPUinstallation.Whenyou areinstalling theCPU, make
suretheCPUhas aheatsinkandacoolingfanattachedon thetop to
preventoverheating. If youdonothavetheheatsinkand cooling fan,contactyour
dealertopurchaseand install thembeforeturning onthecomputer.

Overheating
Overheatingwill seriouslydamagethe CPUand system, always make
surethecoolingfancanworkproperlytoprotectthe CPUfrom
overheating.
Replacing theCPU
While replacing theCPU,alwaysturnoffthe ATXpowersupplyor
unplugthepowersupply spowercordfromgroundedoutletfirstto
ensurethe safetyofCPU.
Overclocking
Thismotherboardisdesignedtosupportoverclocking. However,please
makesureyourcomponentsareabletotoleratesuchabnormal setting,
whiledoing overclocking.Anyattempttooperatebeyondproductspeci-
ficationsisnotrecommended. Wedonotguaranteethedamages
orriskscausedbyinadequateoperationorbeyondproduct
specifications.

1. Pleaseturnoffthepowerand
unplug thepowercordbefore
installing the CPU.
2. Pulltheleversidewaysaway
fromthe socket.Makesureto
raisetheleverup toa90-de-
greeangle.
3.Lookforthe goldarrow.Thegold
arrowshouldpointasshownin
the picture.TheCPUcanonlyfit
in thecorrect orientation.
4.If theCPUiscorrectlyinstalled,
thepinsshould becompletely
embeddedintothesocketand
cannotbeseen.Pleasenote
thatanyviolation ofthe correct
installationproceduresmay
causepermanentdamagesto
yourmainboard.
5. Press theCPUdownfirmlyinto
thesocketandclosethelever.
AstheCPUislikelytomovewhile
theleverisbeingclosed,al-
waysclosetheleverwithyour
fingerspressingtightlyon top of
the CPUtomakesurethe CPUis
properlyand completelyembed-
dedintothesocket.

Installing AMDAthlon64 CPUCoolerSet
Whenyouareinstallingthe CPU, make suretheCPUhas aheatsinkanda
cooling fanattachedon thetop topreventoverheating. If youdonothavethe
heatsinkandcoolingfan,contactyourdealertopurchaseandinstallthembefore
turning onthecomputer.
1.Detachtheshield of thebackplate’s
paster.
2.Turnoverthemainboard,and install
thebackplatetotheproperposition.

placethemainboardontheflat

Whiledisconnecting the SafetyHookfromthefixed bolt, itisneces-
sarytokeepaneyeonyourfingers,becauseoncetheSafetyHookis
disconnected fromthefixed bolt,thefixed leverwill spring back instantly.

DIMM ModuleCombination
Install atleast oneDIMM moduleontheslots. EachDIMMslotsupportsup toamaximum
sizeof1GB.Userscaninstall eithersingle-ordouble-sidedmodulestomeettheir
ownneeds.Pleasenotethat eachDIMMcanworkrespectivelyforsingle-
channelDDR,buttherearesome rules whileusing dual-channelDDR (Please
refertothe suggestedDDRpopulation tablebelow).Usersmayinstallmemorymodules
of differenttypeand densityondifferent-channelDDR DIMMs.However,the same
typeanddensitymemorymodules arenecessarywhileusing dual-channelDDR,
orinstabilitymayhappen. Pleaserefertothefollowingtable fordetailed dual-channel
DDR.Othercombinationnotlistedbelowwill functionassingle-channelDDR.

modulesusedbySDRSDRAM.HighmemorybandwidthmakesDDRan idealsolution
forhighperformancePC,workstationsand servers.
The mainboardprovides4slotsfor184-pin DDRSDRAMDIMM(DoubleIn-LineMemory
Module)modulesandsupportsthememorysizeupto4GB. YoucaninstallDDR266/
333/400/433/466/500/533modulesontheDDRDIMMslots(DDR1~4).
