SAFE OPERATION PRACTICES
GENERAL OPERATION
1. Read, understand, and follow all instructions on your equipment and in their manuals
before attempting to assemble and operate. Keep this manual in a safe place for future
and regular reference and for ordering replacement parts.
2. To help avoid blade contact or a thrown object injury, keep bystanders, helpers, children,
and pets at least 75 feet from the tractor while it is in operation. Stop tractor if anyone
enters the area.
3. Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is to be used. Remove all stones, sticks,
wire, bones, toys, and other foreign objects which could be picked up and thrown by the
blade(s). Thrown objects can cause serious personal injury.
4. Always wear safety glasses or safety goggles during operation and while performing an
adjustment or repair to protect your eyes. Thrown objects which ricochet can cause serious
injury to the eyes.
5. Do not operate the tractor without the discharge cover or entire grass catcher in its proper
place. A missing or damaged discharge cover or grass bag attachment component may
result in thrown objects or blade contact injuries.
6. Do not put hands or feet near rotating parts or under the cutting deck. Contact with the
blade(s) can amputate hands and feet.
7. Shut off tractor’s engine and wait for blades to come to a complete stop before unclogging
tractor’s discharge opening or bagger parts.
8. Slow down before turning. Operate the tractor smoothly. Avoid erratic operation and
excessive speed. Be aware that a grass catcher attachment can affect the handling
characteristics of your tractor.
9. Disengage blade(s), set parking brake, stop engine, and wait until the blade(s) come
to a complete stop before opening bagger attachment’s top cover, removing grass
catcher, emptying grass, unclogging chute, removing any grass or debris, or making
any adjustments. Never leave a running tractor unattended. Always turn off blade(s),
place transmission in neutral, set parking brake, stop engine, and remove key
before dismounting.
10.Your tractor is designed to cut normal residential grass. Do not attempt to mow through
unusually tall, dry grass (e.g., pasture) or piles of dry leaves. Dry grass or leaves may
contact the engine exhaust and/or build up on the tractor deck presenting a potential
fire hazard.
11. If situations occur which are not covered in this manual, use care and good judgment.
Contact your customer service representative for assistance.
SLOPE OPERATION
Slopes are a major factor related to loss of control and tip-over accidents which can result
in severe injury or death. Attachments can also affect the stability of the tractor. All slopes
require extra caution.
For your safety, use the slope gauge included as part of this manual to estimate the angle of
slopes before operating this tractor on a sloped or hilly area. If the slope is greater than 10° or
17% as shown on the slope gauge, do not operate the tractor with the grass bag attachment
installed on that area or serious injury could result.
Do:
1. Mow up and down slopes, not across. Exercise extreme caution when changing direction
on slopes.
2. Watch for holes, ruts, bumps, rocks, or other hidden objects. Uneven terrain could overturn
the tractor. Tall grass can hide obstacles.
3. Use slow speed. Choose a low enough speed setting so that you will not have to stop
or shift while on the slope. Tires may lose traction on slopes even though the brakes
are functioning properly. Always keep tractor in gear when going down slopes to take
advantage of engine braking action.
4. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for wheel weights or counterweights to
improve stability. Keep all movement on the slopes slow and gradual. Do not make sudden
changes in speed or direction. Rapid acceleration or braking could cause the front of the
tractor to lift and rapidly flip over backwards which could cause serious injury.
5. Avoid starting or stopping on a slope. If tires lose traction, disengage the blade(s) and
proceed slowly straight down the slope.
Do Not:
1. Do not turn on slopes unless necessary; then, turn slowly and gradually downhill,
if possible.
2. Do not mow near drop-offs, ditches, or embankments. The tractor could suddenly turn
over if a wheel is over the edge of a cliff, ditch, or if an edge caves in.
3. Do not try to stabilize the tractor by putting your foot on the ground.
4. Do not use a grass catcher on steep slopes.
5. Do not mow on wet grass. Reduced traction could cause sliding.
SLOPE GAUGE (BACK COVER)
WARNING
Slopes are a major factor related to tip-over and roll-over accidents which can result
in severe injury or death. Do NOT operate tractor on slopes in excess of 10°/17%. All
slopes require extra caution. If you cannot back up the slope or if you feel uneasy on
it, do not mow it. Always mow up and down slopes, never across the face of slopes.
USE THE SLOPE GAUGE ON THE BACK COVER AS SHOWN TO DETERMINE IF A SLOPE IS TOO STEEP
FOR SAFE OPERATION!
To check the slope, proceed as follows:
1. Open manual to the back cover and fold along the dashed line.
2. Locate a vertical object on or behind the slope (e.g. a pole, building, fence, tree, etc.).
3. Align either side of the slope gauge with the object.
4. Adjust gauge up or down until the left corner touches the slope.
5. If there is a gap below the gauge, the slope is too steep for safe operation.

GENERAL SERVICE
1. Before cleaning, repairing, or inspecting, make certain the blade(s) and all moving parts
have stopped. Disconnect the spark plug wire and ground against the engine to prevent
unintended starting.
2. Keep all nuts, bolts, and screws tight to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition.
3. Never tamper with your tractor’s safety interlock system or other safety devices. Check
their proper operation regularly.

(O.E.M.) parts only, listed in this manual. Use of parts which do not meet the original
equipment specifications may lead to improper performance and compromise safety!

2. Install the support bracket (783-08856), included with the loose parts, into the mounting
assembly as shown in Figure 4. Line the holes up as shown.

NOTE: The support bracket is not intended for units with a differential lock transmission.
3. Install the clevis pin (711-0309A) from hardware pack (689-02364) into the tractor’s hitch,
the support bracket, and the mounting assembly and secure with a cotter pin (714-0117).
See Figure 4.
NOTE: The clevis pin can be fed down through the hitch plate and secured underneath
with the cotter pin, or it may be easier to feed the clevis pin up through the hitch plate
hole and secure with the cotter pin on the topside. The clevis pin has two holes. It is
recommended to use the hole closest to the head of the pin for a tighter connection.
IMPORTANT! If you decided to leave the hitch support only finger tight during the
assembly process, tighten all of the hardware securely at this time.
MOUNT VERTICAL SUPPORT
1. Install the vertical support (683-04519C) onto the mounting assembly of the tractor by
hooking it over the hitch plate.
2. Align the center hole on the vertical support with the hole on the cross mount bracket
which corresponds with the deck size of your tractor. See Figure 5.
• Hole A recommended for 50 inch and 54 inch decks.

NOTE: References to left, right, front and rear of the tractor are from the operator’s position,
unless otherwise stated.
Before assembly, place the tractor on a firm, level surface, disengage the PTO, stop the tractor
engine and set the parking brake.
TOOLS REQUIRED
• 1/2 inch wrench or socket
• 7/16 inch wrench or socket
ASSEMBLE MOUNTING BRACKETS
To assemble the bagger mounting assembly, locate the mounting assembly pack and follow
these steps:
1. Put together the rider hitch bracket assembly (689-00304A) by attaching the two hitch
side brackets (a) to the rear plate (b) using two carriage bolts (710-0276) and wing knobs
(720-04122) from hardware pack (689-02364). See Figure 1.

NOTE: The hooks on the side brackets (a) should point downwards and the tabs on the rear
plate (b) point upwards as shown in Figure 1.
2. Flip over assembly and mount the universal support bracket (783-08129) to the rider hitch
bracket assembly using two carriage bolts (710-0276) and wing knobs (720-04122) from
hardware pack (689-02364) as shown in Figure 2.

NOTE: It might be easier during the mounting stage to leave this hardware only finger
tight to facilitate lining up the hitch hole for the clevis pin. You will be instructed to tighten
this hardware later in this manual.
MOUNT ASSEMBLY ON TRACTOR
1. Place the hooked ends of the mounting assembly over the shoulder bolts on the tractor
and line up the universal support bracket center hole with the hole on the tractor’s hitch.
See Figure 3.

3. Secure the vertical support to the mounting assembly using a carriage bolt (710-0276)
and a wing knob (720-04122) from hardware pack (689-02364). Refer to Figure 5 on
page 6.
NOTE: Some kits may contain cross-mount brackets with numerical identification over the
holes instead of letters as shown. If this is the case, use the hole corresponding to the deck
size the bagger is being installed on.
INSTALL HANGER ASSEMBLY
1. Install (1) and secure (2) the hanger assembly (683-04498B) to the vertical support using
two carriage bolts (710-0276), two cup washers (736-0242) and two lock nuts (712-
04063) from hardware pack (689-02364). Do not overtighten. See Figure 6.

ASSEMBLING REMAINING BAGGER COMPONENTS
1. Snap the upper chute support (731-17091A) in place by first clipping the side portion onto
the hanger assembly rail (1). See Figure 7.

2. Snap the front side of the upper chute support to the rail (2), as shown in Figure 7.
3. Attach the bagger deflector (731-27134) to the upper chute support using the three
screws (710-05108) supplied in deflector hardware pack (689-02299). See Figure 8.

4. If not previously installed by the factory, install the screen (731-06504) into the bagger
cover (631-04298) by first inserting the end closest to the center into the cutout mounting
hole, as in Figure 9.

5. Clip in the other side by flexing the screen and pushing it down into the provided cutout
hole. See Figure 10.
6. Install the bagger cover onto the hanger assembly, as seen in Figure 11. The plastic cover
goes inside of the two mounting tabs.

7. Slide the hinge pin (711-05079) into the hole located on the mounting tab, as in Figure 12.
Use the cut-out window (see inset in Figure 12) to line up the hinge pin on the other side
and push pin all the way in until it reaches the end-stop. At this point the pin clips into
place and is secured by a tab in the bagger cover. See Figure 13.

SET-UP
INSTALLING THE DISCHARGE CHUTE AND BOOT
When installing the discharge chute and boot, two different installation instructions exist.
For the 54 inch fabricated deck units, the boot elbow mounts directly onto the cutting deck.
For the 50 and 54 inch stamped decks, an adapter must first be installed. Be sure to follow the
instructions that pertain to the unit you are installing this bagger on.
54 Inch Fabricated Deck Units:
1. Raise the deck to its highest position.
2. Remove the deck pin rubber protective cap, 1 in Figure 17.

3. Raise the chute deflector (2 in Figure 17) on the deck and hold it while you position the
boot over the chute opening.
4. Insert the end of the boot elbow (3) into the hole provided in the deck wheel mount as
shown in the top right inset of Figure 17.
5. Pivot the boot rearward until the hole in the boot elbow aligns with the pin on the deck.
Move the boot elbow down onto that pin as shown in 4 of Figure 17.
6. Secure the boot elbow to the cutting deck using a wing knob (720-04122) included in
hardware pack (689-02364). Refer to Figure 18.

On 50 and 54 Inch Stamped Decks Units:
1. Raise the deck to its highest position.
2. Remove the deck pin rubber protective cap, 1 in Figure 19.

8. Open cover by pushing in on the rear, right-side tab with your right hand (1), as seen
in Figure 14, and lifting the cover with your left hand in the center rear of the bagger
cover (2).

9. Install the grass bag assembly (3) (664-05104), with the tight mesh panel facing the
tractor, onto the bag support brackets by inserting the front edge in first (1), as shown in
Figure 15, and setting the back edge down (2) until it fits into the assembly.

ASSEMBLING AND CONFIGURING THE BOOT
Before installing the boot onto your tractor, components must first be assembled onto the
boot (631-09698). The following instructions are for assembling and configuring the boot:
1. From the inside, put the two hex head screws (738-1225), from bagger boot hardware
pack (689-02199), through the holes at the bottom front of the boot. See Figure 16.

2. Put the mounting rod (747-06309) in place over the hex head screws. Make sure the tip of
the rod is facing out from the boot. See Figure 16.
3. Begin threading the flange lock nuts (712-04064) onto the hex head screws. See Figure 16.
4. Using a 1/2 inch wrench or socket on the screw and a 7/16 inch box wrench on the flange
lock nuts, secure the assembly.

3. Raise the chute deflector (2) on the deck and hold it while you install the chute adapter
(731-10133) (3) onto the deck as shown in Figure 19 on page 8.
4. Insert the end of the boot elbow (1) into the hole provided in the deck wheel mount as
shown in the inset of Figure 20.

5. Pivot the boot rearward until the hole in the boot elbow aligns with the pin on the deck
adapter. Move the boot elbow down onto that pin as shown in 2 of Figure 20.
6. Secure the boot elbow to the cutting deck using a wing knob (720-04122) included in
hardware pack (689-02364). Refer to Figure 21.

IMPORTANT! Be certain that the bottom of the boot is located inside of the lip of the deck
opening, as shown in Figure 22.

INSTALLING THE HOSE
1. Thread the upper end of the hose (764-05082) securely into the upper chute support.
There are two tabs on the lower inside part of the upper chute support to allow for secure
threading. See Figure 23.

NOTE: The hose and upper chute support are left-hand threaded. Thread counter-
clockwise until secure.
2. Install ring (731-12353A) onto free end of hose by aligning start of hose ribbing with the
ring window next to a molded dot. See inset in Figure 24.

IMPORTANT! If ring will not thread onto hose, carefully trim any extra material on the
hose flush to the rib with scissors.
3. Lift by the handles at the bottom of the hose. Slide the hose over the boot mounted on the
cutting deck, as shown in Figure 25.

4. Make sure the connection is secure and there are no gaps between the hose and the boot.
NOTE: If open, close the bagger cover prior to mowing.

OPERATION
4. Remove the grass bags, as shown in Figure 27, by lifting each bag up (1) and moving
the bags away from the bag support assembly (2).

5. Empty the grass clippings at a proper disposal sight, use the handle at the bottom of
each grass bag. Holding the bag firmly, empty the contents.
6. Replace the grass bags in the reverse order and in the same orientation in which they
were removed, close lid, pivot down the seat, restart your tractor and resume cutting
your grass.
Bagger Usage
NOTE: When all of the grass bags are full, place the tractor on a firm, level surface, disengage
the PTO, turn the tractor engine off and set the parking brake.
1. Pivot the seat forward and up.
2. Lift up bagger cover by pushing in on the rear, right-side tab with your right hand (1),
as seen in of Figure 26, and lifting the cover with your left hand in the center rear of
the bagger cover (2).

3. Do not remove the hose from the tractor.

LIMITED WARRANTY
The limited warranty set forth herein is given by MTD LLC with respect
to new attachments and/or accessories (hereinafter “Attachments”)
purchased and used in the United States and/or Canada to the Initial
Purchaser (as defined herein). For Canadian sales, the warranty is
provided by MTD Products Limited.
Scope of the Limited Warranty
MTD LLC offers the following limited warranty to the Initial Purchaser
for residential or otherwise non-commercial use: except for the
Exclusions (defined herein), during the Warranty Period (as defined
herein), this Attachment will be free from manufacturing defects
(including workmanship and materials). The “Initial Purchaser” is the
first person to purchase this new Attachment from an authorized
MTD dealer, distributor and/or retailer of such products. This limited
warranty is non-transferrable. Except as otherwise set forth herein,
the limited warranty period for this new Attachment purchased by
the Initial Purchaser is one (1) year from the date of purchase as shown
on the original sales receipt for the product (“Warranty Period”).
Defects in Workmanship or Materials
Except for the Exclusions, this Attachment is warranted to be free
from manufacturing defects in either workmanship or materials for
the Warranty Period. During the Warranty Period, MTD LLC will, at its
option, either repair or replace any original part that is covered by this
limited warranty and is determined to be defective in workmanship or
material.
To qualify for this limited warranty this Attachment:
1. Must have been purchased from an authorized retailer.
2. Must have been purchased within the United States or Canada by the
Initial Purchaser.
3. Must have been used for residential purposes only.
4. Must have been used in a manner consistent with the normal and
proper intended use for this Attachment. This Attachment is not
intended for rental or commercial use.
Who can perform repairs under this warranty?
In order to qualify for the limited warranty as set forth herein, the repairs
made under this warranty must be performed by an authorized MTD service
provider.

dealer, distributor, or retailer or contact MTD LLC at P.O. Box 361131, Cleveland,

com. This limited product warranty is provided by MTD LLC and is the only
product warranty provided by MTD LLC for this Attachment. A COPY OF YOUR
SALES RECEIPT IS REQUIRED FOR WARRANTY SERVICE.
What this limited warranty does not cover.
This limited warranty does not cover the following (the “Exclusions”):
1. Product purchased outside of the United States or Canada.
2. Damage due to lack of maintenance and/or improper maintenance as
described in the operator’s manual
3. Normal wear and tear resulting from use of the product.
4. Any expendable, consumable, or routine maintenance item which needs
replacement or service as part of normal maintenance, unless such items
have defects that cause failure or premature wear within the first thirty
(30) days of purchase. Normal wear items include but are not limited to,
tires, fuses, blades, batteries, belts, hoses, string trimmer line, engine oil,
hydraulic oil, grass bags, and other consumable items where applicable,
or adjustments, such as clutch, brake or deck adjustments or tune-ups.
5. Use of the product that is not consistent with the intended use
thereof as described in the operating instructions, including, but not
limited to, abuse, misuse and/or neglect of the Attachment or any use
inconsistent with and/or non-compliant with instructions contained in
the Operator’s Manual.
6. Any Attachment that has been altered or modified in a manner not
consistent with the original design of the Attachment or in a manner
not approved by MTD LLC.
7. Paint repairs or replacements for defective paint (including materials
and application) are covered for a period of three (3) months; provided
however, that this limited warranty for defective paint does not apply
to and shall not cover damage(s) to the paint application resulting from
exposure to weather conditions and/or resulting from normal use of the
Attachment, including misuse.
This warranty does not cover and MTD LLC disclaims any responsibility for:
1. Loss of time or loss of use of the Attachment.
2. Transportation costs and other expenses incurred in connection with
the transport of the Attachment to and from the authorized MTD
service provider.
3. Any loss or damage to other equipment or personal items.
4. Damages caused by improper maintenance or the use of other than the

MEDIDAS DE SEGURIDAD
FUNCIONAMIENTO GENERAL
1. Lea, comprenda y respete todas las instrucciones que figuran en el equipo y en los
manuales antes de intentar armarlo y hacerlo funcionar. Guarde este manual en un lugar
seguro para consultas futuras y periódicas, así como para solicitar repuestos.
2. Para ayudar a evitar una lesión por contacto con las cuchillas o con un objeto que sea
arrojado, mantenga a los observadores, a los ayudantes, a niños y mascotas alejados a no
menos de 75 pies de la cortadora mientras está funcionando. Pare la tractora si alguien
ingresa a la zona.
3. Revise minuciosamente el área donde se va a usar el equipo. Saque todas las piedras,
palos, cables, huesos, juguetes y demás objetos extraños que puedan ser recogidos y
arrojados por las cuchilla(s). Los objetos arrojados por la tractora pueden producir lesiones
personales graves.
4. Para protegerse los ojos, utilice siempre anteojos o antiparras de seguridad durante la
operación o mientras realiza ajustes o reparaciones. Los objetos arrojados que rebotan
pueden producir lesiones graves en los ojos.
5. Nunca opere la cortadora de césped si no está bien colocada la cubierta de descarga
o el colector de césped completo. Si falta la cubierta de descarga o está dañada o un
componente del accesorio de embolsadora falta, se pueden producir lesiones por contacto
con la cuchilla o con objetos arrojados.
6. No ponga las manos ni los pies cerca de las piezas rotatorias ni debajo de la plataforma de
corte. El contacto con las cuchilla(s) puede amputar manos y pies.
7. Apague el motor de la cortadora de césped y espere que las cuchillas se detengan
totalmente antes de desbloquear la abertura de descarga de la cortadora o las piezas de
la embolsadora.
8. Reduzca la velocidad antes de girar. Haga funcionar la tractora de manera uniforme. Evite
que funcione de manera errática y a excesiva velocidad. Tenga en cuenta que el accesorio
colector de césped puede afectar las características de manejo de su cortadora.
9. Desenganche la o las cuchilla(s), coloque el freno de mano, detenga el motor y espere
hasta que las cuchillas se detengan totalmente antes de abrir la cubierta superior del
accesorio embolsador, sacar el colector de césped, vaciar los recortes, desbloquear el
canal, retirar cualquier residuo o desecho o realizar cualquier ajuste. Nunca deje la tractora
encendida sin atención. Siempre desconecte las cuchillas, ponga la transmisión en punto
muerto, ponga el freno de mano, detenga el motor y retire la llave antes de bajarse
del vehículo.
10.Su tractora está diseñada para cortar césped residencial normal. No intente cortar césped
demasiado crecido, seco (como un pastizal) ni pilas de hojas secas. El césped o las hojas
secas pueden entrar en contacto con el escape del motor y/o acumularse en la plataforma
de corte presentando un potencial peligro de incendio.
11. Si se presentan situaciones que no están previstas en este manual, tenga cuidado y use
el sentido común. Póngase en contacto con su representante de atención al cliente para
obtener ayuda.
OPERACIÓN EN PENDIENTES
Las pendientes son un factor importante en los accidentes ocasionados por pérdida de control
y vuelcos que pueden causar lesiones graves e incluso la muerte. Los accesorios también
pueden afectar la estabilidad de la tractora. Todas las pendientes requieren precaución extra.
Para su seguridad, use el medidor de pendientes que se incluye como parte de este manual
para calcular el ángulo de las pendientes antes de hacer funcionar la tractora en una zona
accidentada. Si la pendiente aparece como mayor de 10° o 17% en el medidor, no haga
funcionar la cortadora con el accesorio para bolsas de césped en ese sector, pues podría causar
lesiones graves.
Si:
1. Corte hacia arriba y abajo de las pendientes, no en forma transversal. Tenga sumo cuidado
al cambiar de dirección en una pendiente.
2. Esté atento a los hoyos, surcos, baches, rocas, u otros objetos ocultos. El terreno
desnivelado puede voltear la tractora. El césped alto puede ocultar obstáculos.
3. Conduzca a baja velocidad. Seleccione una velocidad lo suficientemente baja como para
que no necesite detenerse o cambiar de marcha estando en pendiente. Los neumáticos
pueden perder tracción en las pendientes aun cuando los frenos funcionen correctamente.
Siempre mantenga la tractora en cambio mientras desciende una pendiente para poder
frenar con el motor.
4. Siga las recomendaciones del fabricante sobre los pesos o contrapesos de las ruedas para
mejorar la estabilidad. Haga que todos los movimientos en las pendientes sean lentos y
graduales. No realice cambios bruscos de velocidad o dirección. Hacer un cambio o frenar
repentinamente puede hacer que el frente de la tractora se levante y vuelque rápidamente
hacia atrás dando lugar a lesiones graves.
5. Evite arrancar o detenerse en una pendiente. Si las ruedas pierden tracción, desacople las
cuchillas y descienda la pendiente lentamente.
No:
1. No gire en pendiente a menos que sea necesario; si lo hace, gire lenta y gradualmente
cuesta abajo, si es posible.
2. No corte el césped cerca de barrancos, zanjas o terraplenes. La cortadora puede volcarse
repentinamente si una de las ruedas pasa el borde de un acantilado o zanja o si se
desmorona un borde.
3. No intente estabilizar la tractora poniendo el pie en el suelo.
4. No utilice colector de césped en pendientes empinadas.
5. No corte el césped húmedo. La falta de tracción puede hacer que patine.

SERVICIO GENERAL
1. Antes de limpiar, reparar o inspeccionar la tractora, compruebe que la(s) cuchilla(s) y todas
las piezas móviles se hayan detenido. Desconecte el cable de la bujía y póngalo haciendo
tierra contra el motor para evitar que se encienda accidentalmente.
2. Mantenga todos los pernos, tuercas y tornillos bien ajustados para asegurarse que la
tractora se encuentra en condiciones seguras de operación.
3. Nunca intente violar el sistema de bloqueo de seguridad u otros mecanismos de seguridad
de la cortadora. Compruebe regularmente que estos elementos funcionen correctamente.
4. No intente nunca hacer ajustes o reparaciones a la cortadora mientras el motor está
en marcha.
5. Los componentes del colector de césped y la cubierta de descarga están sujetos a
desgaste y daños que podrían dejar expuestas piezas que se mueven o permitir que se

INDICADOR DE PENDIENTE (CUBIERTA POSTERIOR)
ADVERTENCIA
Las pendientes son un factor importante relacionado con accidentes por tumbos
y vuelcos que pueden producir lesiones graves o la muerte. NO opere el tractor en
pendientes que excedan los 10°/17%. Todas las pendientes requieren precaución
extra. Si no puede retroceder por la pendiente o si no se siente seguro, no realice
ningún corte. Siempre corte hacia arriba y hacia abajo de las pendientes, nunca de
manera transversal.
PARA DETERMINAR SI UNA PENDIENTE ES DEMASIADO EMPINADA Y EVITAR RIESGOS, USE EL
INDICADOR DE PENDIENTE QUE APARECE EN LA CUBIERTA POSTERIOR COMO SE MUESTRA.
Para comprobar la pendiente, proceda de la siguiente manera:
1. Abra el manual por la contraportada y dóblelo por la línea de puntos.
2. Ubique un objeto vertical que esté sobre la pendiente o detrás de la misma (p. ej., un
poste, un edificio, un cerco, un árbol, etc.).
3. Alinee cualquiera de los lados del indicador de pendiente con el objeto.
4. Ajuste el indicador hacia arriba o abajo hasta que la esquina izquierda toque la pendiente.
5. Si hay una separación por debajo del indicador, significa que la pendiente es demasiado
empinada para una operación segura.

2. Instale el soporte de apoyo (783-08856), que se incluye con las piezas sueltas, en el
conjunto de montaje como se muestra en la Figura 4. Alinee los orificios como se indica.

3. Instale el pasador de horquilla (711-0309A) del paquete de herrajes (689-02364) en el
enganche del tractor, la ménsula de soporte, y el conjunto de montaje, y fije con una
chaveta de horquilla (714-0117). Consulte la Figura 4.
NOTA: el pasador de horquilla se puede pasar hacia abajo por la placa de enganche y
asegurarlo por abajo con el sujetador de horquilla; o puede resultar más fácil pasarlo hacia
arriba por el orificio de la placa de enganche y asegurarlo con el sujetador en la parte
superior. Inserte el pasador de horquilla dentro del agujero superior, que está más cerca
de la cabeza del pasador. Puede necesitar empujar el pasador para hacer que se pueda
acceder al orificio.
¡IMPORTANTE! Si decidió dejar el soporte de enganche ajustado sólo manualmente
durante el proceso de montaje, ajuste firmemente todos los demás elementos de ferretería
en este momento.
MONTAR EL SOPORTE VERTICAL
1. Instale el soporte vertical (683-04519C) en el conjunto de montaje del tractor
enganchándolo sobre la placa de enganche.
2. Alinear el orificio central del soporte vertical con el orificio del soporte de montaje
transversal que corresponde al tamaño de plataforma de su tractor. Consulte la Figura 5.
• Se recomienda el orificio A para las plataformas de 50 pulgadas y 54 pulgadas.

NOTA: las referencias a la izquierda, derecha, parte delantera y trasera del tractor están desde
la posición del operador, salvo indicación en contrario.
Antes del montaje, coloque el tractor sobre una superficie firme y nivelada, desenganche la
toma de fuerza PTO, detenga el motor del tractor y coloque el freno de mano.

ARME LAS MÉNSULAS DE SOPORTE
Para armar el conjunto de montaje de la embolsadora, localice el paquete del conjunto de
montaje y siga estos pasos:
1. Una el conjunto del soporte de enganche del tractor (689-00304A) sujetando los dos
soportes laterales (a) a la ménsula de soporte trasera (b) utilizando los dos pernos de
carro (710-0276) y las perillas de aleta (720-04122) del paquete de herrajes (689-02364).

2. Dé vuelta el conjunto y monte la ménsula de soporte universal (783-08129) a la ménsula

04122) del paquete de herrajes (689-02364), como se indica en la Figura 2.

NOTA: durante la etapa de montaje podría resultar más fácil dejar ajustado este único
elemento de ferretería para facilitar el alineamiento con el orificio de enganche para el
pasador de horquilla. Más adelante en el manual se le indicará que ajuste este elemento
de ferretería.
MONTE EL CONJUNTO EN EL TRACTOR
1. Coloque los extremos con gancho del conjunto de montaje sobre los pernos con reborde en
el parte posterior del bastidor del tractor y alinee el orificio central del soporte universal
con el orificio del enganche del tractor. Consulte la Figura 3.

3. Fije el soporte de montaje vertical al conjunto de montaje con un perno de carro (710-
0276) y una perilla de aleta (720-04122) del paquete de herrajes (689-02364). Consulte la
Figura 5 en la página 17.
NOTA: algunos conjuntos pueden incluir soportes de montaje transversal con
identificación numérica sobre los orificios en lugar de letras, como se indica. Si ese es el
caso, use el orificio que corresponde al tamaño de plataforma en el que se desea instalar
la embolsadora.
INSTALE EL CONJUNTO DE SUSPENSIÓN
1. Instale (1) y asegure (2) el conjunto de suspensión (683-04498B) al soporte vertical
utilizando dos pernos de carro (710-0276), dos arandelas de copa (736-0242) y dos tuercas
de seguridad (712-04063) del paquete de herrajes (689-02364). No lo apriete demasiado.

7. Deslice el pasador de bisagra (711-05079) en el orificio ubicado en la lengüeta de montaje,
como se indica en la Figura 12. Use la ventana recortada (consulte el recuadro de la Figura
12) para alinear el pasador de bisagra del otro lado y empújelo hasta que llegue al tope.
En este punto el pasador calza en su posición y queda asegurado por una lengüeta en la
cubierta del embolsador. Consulte la Figura 13.

INSTALACIÓN DEL CANAL DE DESCARGA Y BOTA
Cuando se instala el canal de descarga y la bota hay dos instrucciones de instalación

se monta directamente en la plataforma de corte. Para las plataformas estampadas de
50 y 54 pulgadas, en primer lugar se debe instalar un adaptador. Asegúrese de seguir las
instrucciones correspondientes a la unidad en la que está instalando esta embolsadora.
Unidades de plataforma fabricada de 54 pulgadas:
1. Eleve la plataforma a la posición más alta.
2. Extraiga el tapón protector de goma del pasador de plataforma, 1 in Figura 17.

3. Levante el deflector del canal (2 in Figura 17) sobre la plataforma y sosténgalo mientras
ubica la bota sobre la abertura del canal.
4. Inserte el extremo del codo del bota (3) en el orificio suministrado en el montaje de rueda
de la plataforma tal como se muestra en el recuadro superior derecho de la Figura 17.
5. Gire la bota hacia atrás hasta que el orificio del codo del bota se alinee con el pasador de
la plataforma. Mueva la bota hacia abajo sobre ese pasador, como se indica en 4 de la
Figura 17.
6. Fije el codo del bota en la plataforma de corte usando una perilla de aletas (720-04122) a
partir del paquete de herrajes (689-02364). Consulte la Figura 18.

En las plataformas estampadas de 50 y 54 pulgadas:
1. Eleve la plataforma a la posición más alta.
2. Retire el tapón protector de goma del pasador de plataforma, 1 en la Figura 19.

8. Abra la cubierta oprimiendo hacia adentro la lengüeta posterior derecha con la mano
derecha (1), como se ve en la Figura 14, y levantando la cubierta con la mano izquierda en
el centro de la parte posterior de la cubierta del embolsador (2).

9. Instale los bolsa de césped conjunto (3) (664-05104), con el panel de malla apretado
orientado hacia el tractor, sobre las ménsulas de soporte de las bolsas insertando el borde
delantero primero (1), como se ve en la Figura 15, y ajustando el borde posterior hacia
abajo (2) hasta que calce en el conjunto.

MONTAJE Y CONFIGURACIÓN DEL CANAL DE DESCARGA Y BOTA
Antes de instalar el bota en su tractor, en primer lugar hay que montar componentes en el
bota (631-09698). Las siguientes son las instrucciones para armar y configurar el bota:
1. Desde el interior, pase dos tornillos de cabeza hexagonal (738-1225) del paquete de
herrajes de la bota bagger (689-02199) a través de los orificios en la parte inferior
delantera del maletero. Vea la Figura 16.

2. Ponga la barra de montaje en lugar sobre los tornillos de pivote con la punta de la barra
(747-06309) que mira hacia afuera del bota. Vea la Figura 16.
3. Empezó a taladrar las tuercas de seguridad con brida en los tornillos de pivote (712-04064)
Vea la Figura 16.
4. Usando una llave de 1/2 pulgada o un socket en el tornillo y una llave de caja de 7/16
pulgada en las tuercas de nylock, asegure el ensamblaje.

CONFIGURACIÓN
3. Eleve el deflector del canal (2) sobre la plataforma y sosténgalo mientras instala el
adaptador de paracaídas (731-10133) (3) sobre la plataforma tal como se muestra en la
Figura 19 en la página 19.
4. Inserte el extremo del codo del bota (1) en el orificio suministrado en el montaje de rueda
de la plataforma tal como se muestra en el recuadro de la Figura 20.

5. Gire la bota hacia atrás hasta que el orificio del codo del bota se alinee con el pasador del
adaptador de plataforma. Mueva la bota hacia abajo hacia ese pasador como se muestra
en 2 de la Figura 20.
6. Fije el codo del bota en la plataforma de corte usando una perilla de aletas (720-04122) a
partir del paquete de herrajes (689-02364). Consulte la Figura 21.

¡IMPORTANTE! Asegúrese de que la parte inferior del bota esté ubicada dentro del borde
de la abertura de plataforma, como se muestra en la Figura 22.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA MANGUERA
1. Enrosque el extremo superior de la manguera (764-05082) firmemente en el soporte del
canal superior. Hay dos lengüetas en la parte interior baja del soporte del canal superior
que permiten un enrosque seguro. Consulte la Figura 23.

NOTA: la manguera y el soporte del canal superior se enroscan hacia la izquierda.
Enrosque en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj hasta asegurarlo.
2. Instale el anillo (731-12353A) sobre el extremo libre de la manguera alineando el inicio
de la nervadura de la manguera con la ventana de anillo junto al punto moldeado. Vea el
recuadro de la Figura 24.

NOTA: la manguera y el anillo se enroscan hacia la izquierda. Enrosque en el sentido
contrario a las agujas del reloj hasta que quede firme.
¡IMPORTANTE! Si el anillo no se enrosca en la manguera, utilice unas tijeras y recorte con
precaución el material sobrante de la manguera para que quede nivelada con la nervadura.
3. Levante por las manijas que están en la parte inferior de la manguera. Deslice la manguera
sobre el maletero montado en la plataforma de corte, como se ilustra en la Figura 25.

4. Asegúrese de que la conexión sea segura y de que no haya espacios entre la manguera y
el bota.
NOTA: si está abierta, cierre la cubierta de la embolsadora antes de cortar el césped.
