Note: If the room temperature is lower than 89.6˚F (32.0˚C),
the display will show “L” instead of “Lo”.
If, however, the room temperature is higher than 109.9°F
(42.9°C), the display will show “H”.
5. Apply the thermometer to the measurement area. This may
be oral, axillary (underarm/armpit) or rectal area.
6. When the reading is ready, the thermometer will emit 10
beep sounds within 10 seconds. Remove the thermometer
from the measurement area and read the result.

Oral Use
• Place the thermometer in the mouth under the tongue so that it rests to the left
or right of the root of the tongue (heat pockets).
• Use downward tongue pressure to hold the thermometer in place. Hold the
thermometer to keep it from sliding around in the mouth.
• Mouth should be closed while the thermometer is measuring temperature.
Note: Approximate measuring time: 1 minute.
Axillary Use (Armpit)
• Wipe the armpit with a dry towel.
• Place the probe tip under the arm, so the tip is touching the skin with the
thermometer perpendicular to the body.
• Lock the probe tip under the arm using the arm to slightly apply pressure
inwards. In the case of infants and very young children, gently hold their arm to
prevent movement.
• Axillary temperature is usually approximately 1.0°F – 2.0°F (0.5°C – 1.0°C)
lower than an oral temperature.
Note: To achieve most accurate axillary temperature measurement results, a
minimum measuring time of 2-3 minutes is recommended regardless of the
beep sound.
Rectal Use
• Apply a water-soluble gel to the probe tip.
• Gently insert the probe tip a MAXIMUM of 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) into the
rectum. Stop if you encounter any resistance. The sensing device is on the
very tip of the probe, so there is no need to insert the probe deep into the
rectum.
• Rectal temperature is usually approximately 1.0°F – 2.0°F (0.5°C – 1.0°C)
higher than an oral temperature.
Note: Approximate measuring time: 1 minute.
• The body of the thermometer can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth.
• A soft cotton cloth moistened with 75% isopropyl alcohol should be used to
disinfect the probe tip.
• Do not immerse the thermometer or allow any liquid to enter the casing.
• Do not use cleaning agents other than alcohol to clean the thermometer;
abrasives, thinners, or gasoline will damage the unit.
The battery in your digital thermometer needs to be replaced when “ ” appears
in the lower right corner of the display. Replace the battery with a 1.5V, AG3
alkaline, or LR41 silver oxide type or equivalent.
To replace the battery:
1. Slide the battery cap away from
the unit.
2. Pull out the battery set about 0.7
inches (18 mm), until the battery is
uncovered.
3. Use a non-metal pointed tool to
remove the battery and insert the
new battery with the positive (+) side
facing up.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Note: If the temperature reading is higher than 100°F (37.8°C), the unit will beep
30 times within 10 seconds; this is a fever alert.
7. Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the unit. When not in use, store the unit in
the provided storage case, in a cool dry place and out of reach of children.
Note: If not turned off manually, the unit will automatically turn off approxi-
