Repeater [ESREP] & Location Repeater [ESLOC]
Quick Installation Guide
Installation:
Note: Installation of the EkoSecure repeater should only be carried out by suitably trained personnel. For full
installation details please visit www.multitone.com/support
•Ensure that the ESREP is installed with the internal antenna pointing vertically upwards.
•The first repeater must be placed within 15m of the hub and its radio connectivity should be checked
before installing the remainder of the repeaters, to ensure a primary link back to the hub is established.
•Mount the repeater on a flat vertical surface, using suitable fixings fitted through the holes under the
enclosure lid fixings. Run the mains cable (ESREP only) to a suitably accessible ac mains supply,
positioned close to the repeater. Note: adding a warning label or security device to the power connection
should ensure that the repeater is not accidentally switched off.
•Check that the cable input gland in the repeater case is secured tight and does not allow the mains cable
to be twisted, or pushed in or pulled out of the repeater case.
•Ensure the mains power is switched off and fit 2 x Alkaline D-Type batteries, taking note of the polarity
and refit the lid.
•For mounting out of doors, suitable weather protection should be fitted to the mains cable and plug
installation.
•Repeaters should be placed a maximum of 70m apart and no closer than 15m.
•With the batteries installed and the lid screwed in place, turn on the power supply to activate the repeater
Using an External Antenna
•If using the external antenna, the cable must be passed through the cable gland supplied and fitted to
the side of the case through one of the knockouts.
•The internal antenna should be removed and the cable should be connected to the same SMA
connector, ensuring no strain is placed on the connector.
•The antenna may be placed in a convenient place to gain maximum coverage as desired and fixed
securely using the bracket supplied to a suitably strong fixing point.
•The antenna cable must loop down below the entry point before entering the repeater.
