Preface
Precautions
For safety, we strongly recommend that you never operate the GPS navigation system
while driving.
Furthermore, attention should be paid to the following basic precautions when operating the
NavAccess E-802:
●The SD card should be removed only after you press the power button to shut down the unit.
Never pull out the SD card while the E-802 is operating.
●Never press the power button repeatedly or continuously. Otherwise, the unit could be
damaged.
●Never expose the NavAccess E-802 to strong sunlight or heat for extended periods of time.
The acceptable operating environment of the NavAccess E-802 is 0~70℃and 0~90%
humidity. The acceptable storage environment is -10~80℃and 0~90% humidity.
Also, when operating the GPS functions of the NavAccess E-802, these additional precautions
apply:
●This system functions as a reference for navigation only, and should never be used for
accurate measurements of direction, distance, location, etc.
●For GPS satellite positioning to work, stay at same location until the positioning process is
complete. It is best to stay in an open, uncovered location. This positioning process may
need more than 10 minutes.
●When the system is located in a building or a tunnel, or is close to a high obstacle, the
system may temporarily be unable to provide positioning and navigation information.
●Any radio transmitters (including mobile phones) might interfere with GPS satellite signals,
thereby resulting in incorrect positioning information.
●If your car is equipped with sheathing paper or explosion-proof plaster, these features might
interfere with the quality of the GPS signal.
●Route planning advice is for reference only. Road properties (such as one-way status and
turn restrictions) may change according to local conditions, and therefore may not be
consistent with the information given by the E-802. You should comply with all local traffic
regulations and drive as local road conditions require. When the NavAccess E-802 is placed
inside a car, it should be positioned in place by means of a car tripod. Avoid positioning the
NavAccess E-802 in the positions below
Driver’s line-of-sight Any position where it is not fixed in place
A position where an airbag is located A position where an airbag expands

☆Connecting the NavAccess E-802 to a Computer
1. Software Installation
Before connecting the NavAccess E-802 to a computer, ensure that the ActiveSync program
has already been installed on the computer. If the ActiveSync program has already been
installed, proceed to the next section.
(1) Insert the enclosed software CD into a CD-ROM drive on the computer and run the
“ActiveSync 3.7” program. The system will extract the installation files. This may take a few
minutes.
(2) After extracting the setup files, the system will prepare for installation. This may also take a
few minutes.
(3) When the installation program runs, the following window will appear. Press the “Next”
button to continue.

14
(4) Press the “Next” button to continue.
(5) The installation program will update your system and the following window will display. This
may take a few minutes.
(6) The installation is complete.
2. Connecting to a Computer
(1) First, insert an SD card as shown below.
Correct insertion direction
of SD card

15
(2) Connect the included USB cable to a computer and the NavAccess E-802 as shown below.
(3) If this is the first time the NavAccess E-802 has been connected to the computer, the
computer may prompt for the installation of a device driver which is located in the
Driver/Software Folder of the included CD. If this happens, insert the included CD into a
CD-ROM drive on the computer. Then choose to install the driver from a directory and
choose the appropriate directory on the CD.
(4) When the appropriate drivers are installed and the E-802 is connected to the computer, the
ActiveSync program should run automatically and prompt for a link mode. The first option is
standard mode, which automatically synchronizes the information between the NavAccess
E-802 and the computer. The second option is user mode, which does not synchronize
information. In both modes, all media files may be copied as described in the next step.
(5) To copy media files manually, select “Explore” in ActiveSync or open “Mobile Device” in “My
Computer”. Locate the “SDMEM” folder and copy all items you want to be available on the
E-802 (such as Movie, Music, photos, e-books, etc.) to that folder.
3. File Format Conversion Software
In order for some files to play on the NavAccess E-802, they must be converted into formats that
the unit can read. To convert files, use the following steps.
(1) Refer to the “shareware reference” folder on the included CD to select a software
download website. Visit the site using a Web browser.
(2) Select and download conversion software Reference for the file formats you want to
convert (for example, converting RealMedia format to Movie or Music format).
(3) Install the downloaded software.
(4) Use the software to convert your files.
(5) Copy the converted files to the NavAccess E-802 or to SD card.
[Remark] The use of downloaded software may be restricted to a trial period. If you want to
use it for longer than this period, you should register or purchase the software.

movement and selection. They are available for single-handed operation.
Holding down a directional navigation button will cause movement to continue in that direction.

1.3 Soft Keyboard
When an action requires text to be entered (such as with renaming a file or adding a new
category) the following screen will appear. You may use the stylus or navigation buttons to
“type” the letters, numbers or symbols needed.
1.4 Playlist Dialog Boxes
When editing an item in a playlist, the following screen will appear. This screen contains two
text fields. The first contains the name of the item as it appears in the playlist and the second
contains the path to the file in the internal filesystem. In general, you should only change the
first field unless you are sure you know what you are doing. Text entry for both fields is
performed in the same way as outlined in the previous section.

19
1.5 Popup Menus
Many of the functions of the NavAccess E-802 have file-browsing capabilities. On a browsing
screen, pressing and holding the stylus on an item will bring up a popup menu listing all of the
operations that can be performed on the file. These functions may include: Copy, Cut, Delete,
Paste and Rename.
Use the popup menus as follows:

1.6 Power
Notes on power in the E-802:
Software data is saved to FLASH memory in real time to avoid data loss when the unit is
powered off.
The clock on the NavAccess E-802 requires power to continue operating. This power
comes from the battery or a power adapter, even when the rest of the unit is powered off. If
no power source is available (because the unit is not connected to an adapter and the
battery is missing or completely discharged) the clock will pause, possibly resulting in
significant time errors.
A fully charged battery can work 3-5hrs. However, the actual time will vary with conditions.
Some operations (such as playing an Movie file) may drain the battery more quickly.
When a battery has insufficient charge remaining, the screen will display a low battery
message. When this happens, save any unsaved data immediately, and then connect the
unit to a power adapter to recharge. If the battery is not recharged, the NavAccess E-802 will
enter a protection state automatically when the battery charge falls below an acceptable
lower limit. If this happens, the system can only be powered on if it is connected to a power
adapter to recharge. Note that if the unit enters the protection state, data stored in RAM
might be lost. However, setup or other data saved in FLASH memory should remain intact.
