WIRELESS SENSOR CONNECTION
Connection between sensor and display unit works over open/free 868 MHz band. Long SMA antenna provides up to 1000 m range
with line of sight, without any obstacles between antennas, where antennas should be installed at least 2 m above the terrain. Within
buildings signal degrades/weakens significantly, usually limited to two or three walls. Signal reception is also susceptible to
electromagnetic interference, which may be present on installation site. For optimal reception, when sensor is installed in underground
tank, antenna should be placed above terrain level.
For increased range additional antennas (YAGI) or repeaters are available, which are installed between sensor and receiver unit.
When data is received from sensor, receive icon will blink on the main screen of the receiver.
Signal strength indicator is present on the main screen for each sensor, in settings menu signal strength is displayed as numerical
value (dB). If receiver did not receive data from sensor for more than one minute, text "No signal" is displayed.
SETTING EMPTY AND FULL LEVELS
Current value that is sent by sensor can be set as empty or full level. Level can also be entered numerically.
See SETTINGS/Settings: Tanks: Sensor setup.
•CAPACITIVE sensor (SC models):
Once sensor is installed inside the tank, set sensor type in Settings: Tanks: Sensor type to “capacitive”.
In Sensor Setup sub-menu, current detected level is displayed (Please note, this number is raw sensor measurement, and
does not represent any measure unit).
“Level empty” is set, by temporarily immersing the measurement wire to desired empty level depth, wait for the sensor to send
new measured value, then saving the measured value by either manually entering the value displayed by “Current
measurement”, or selecting “Save as empty” menu option. This value will represent 0 % on the display.
“Level full” is set, by temporarily immersing the measurement wire to desired full level depth, wait for the sensor to send new
measured value, then saving the measured value by either manually entering the value displayed by “Current measurement”,
or selecting “Save as full” menu option. This value will represent 100 % on the display.
Adjustment of this value is done by raw sensor measurement, best practice is to save currently measured value instead of
adjusting it manually.
•ULTRASONIC sensor (SU models):
Once sensor is installed on the tank, set sensor type in Settings: Tanks: Sensor type to “ultrasonic”.
In Sensor Setup sub-menu, select “Subtype” which matches your sensor model, model can be found on label of the sensor
transmitter, example “SU11”.
“Dist. empty” is distance between sensor and liquid level, where receiver will display 0 %.
“Dist. full” is distance between sensor and liquid level, where receiver will display 100 %.
By default values are set to minimal and maximal values depending on selected model. Values can be manually adjusted to
best fit your application. Adjustment is done in centimeters. It can not be set below 0, and can not be set above maximal
sensor range (example SU11 300 cm).
•HYDROSTATIC sensor (SP models):
Once sensor is installed inside tank, set sensor type in Settings: Tanks: Sensor type to “hydrostatic”.
In Sensor Setup sub-menu, select “Subtype” which matches your sensor model, model can be found on label attached to
sensor cable, example “SP10-35”.
“Level empty” is liquid level, where receiver will display 0 %.
“Level Full” is liquid level, where receiver will display 100 %.
By default values are set to minimal and maximal values depending on selected model. Values can be manually adjusted to
best fit your application. Adjustment is done in centimeters. It can not be set below 0, and can not be set above maximal
sensor range (example SP10-35 - 350cm).
CAPACITY AND TANK SHAPE
To show correct level calculations please enter tank capacity, if capacity is not entered correctly, percentage calculated will still show
true value however capacity calculation in selected unit may be incorrect.
Tank shapes has to be chosen to match your tank shape when viewed from side. Tank shape will directly affect level volume
calculation depending on shape selected. If rectangular or round shape do not match your tank, you can select custom shape, where
you can enter your own linearisation values: values on the left represent height measurement in percentage, values on the right need
to be edited and represent actual tank volume.
