Congratulations on choosing the Neat ELITE SX loudspeakers. Used correctly, they will provide a li etime o beauti ul
music. Please read the ollowing notes in order to get the best rom them.
RUNNING IN
A 'running in' period of a leas 200 hours is necessary o s abilise performance. Af er his period, a fur her
gradual improvemen will occur over a period of several weeks.
SETUP
Fit the locking rings to the spikes and it the spikes to the bushes in the plinths. Return to upright and place the speakers
approximately in area where they will be used. Level by adjusting the spikes, then tighten the locking rings by hand.
CONNECTION
The ELITE SX is normally supplied with the bi-wire terminals linked, or 'normal' (single-wire) connection.
Bi-wiring is e ected by removing the links and running two sets o cable rom the ampli ier output terminals. Connect one
set to the lower and one set to the upper terminals on the rear o the speaker. Take care to ensure correct polarity (i.e. red
and black connections maintained at ampli ier and speaker).
Where bi-ampli ication is being considered, it is advisable to consult a dealer, or Neat Acoustics, or advice.
POSITIONING
Due to huge variations in room acoustics, there are ew hard and ast rules governing loudspeaker positioning, so
experimentation is recommended. Generally speaking, bass output increases as distance rom the rear wall, or side wall,
decreases. Stereo depth and associated e ects improve as the speaker is brought away rom room boundaries.
Start with the ELITE SX at approx. 30cm rom the rear walls and 60 cm rom side walls. Make incremental moves in
di erent directions, noting the changes, until an optimal position is reached. Remember that sometimes very small
movements o the loudspeaker can bring about startling di erences in per ormance.
