THE MOMENTUM SX7i LOUDSPEAKER
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Congratulations on choosing the MOMENTUM SX7i loudspeakers. Used correctly, they will pro ide a lifetime of beautiful
music. Please read the following notes in order to get the best from them.
CAUTION! The woofer in the base of the cabinet can be easily damaged.
HANDL WITH CAR .
RUNNING IN
A 'running in' period o at least 200 hours is necessary to stabilise per ormance. A ter this period, a urther
gradual improvement will occur over a period o several weeks.
ASSEMBLY
The speakers are packed in two separate cartons, with the tri-laminate feet and fixings enclosed.
1) Unpack and place the speaker upside-down on a clean, non-abrasi e surface. Place the feet onto the steel bushes on
the bottom panel of the speaker and line up the inner fixing holes to the threads in the bushes. Fit the supplied M6 fixing
bolts and tighten with the supplied allen key.
2) Screw a spike into each of the outer threaded holes in the feet, so that there is approximately 8mm of the spike thread
showing on the other side of the foot. Fit the locking rings to the spikes, but don‘t tighten them yet.
3) Return to upright, place the speaker in required position. Le el the speaker by tilting the speaker carefully and
adjusting the spikes. When the speaker is le el and stable, tighten the locking rings.
CONNECTIONS
The Momentum SX7i is supplied with a single pair of terminals as standard, to facilitate single (normal) wiring.
If you ha e ordered a dual pair of terminals you may bi-wire or bi-amp the Momentum SX7i.
Bi-wiring is effected by running two sets of cable from the amplifier output terminals. Connect one set to the lower and
one set to the upper terminals on the rear of the speaker. Take care to ensure correct phasing (i.e. red and black
connections maintained at amplifier and speaker). Bi-wiring can bring about a significant change in performance and this
should be e aluated on an indi idual basis. Some amplifiers will respond better than others, and personal taste is a
strong factor.
Bi-ampli ication is highly recommended. This in ol es the use of 2 stereo amplifiers (or 4 mono amplifiers). When this
mode of operation is being considered, it is ad isable to consult a dealer, or Neat Acoustics, for ad ice.

PLACEMENT IN THE ROOM
There are no firm rules regarding placement, as acoustics will ary from room to room. A degree of experimentation is
necessary for optimum placement but a starting point of 20-30cm from rear walls is suggested, with a toe-in of 10-15
degrees. Generally, bass output increases as distance from the rear wall, or room corner, decreases. Stereo depth
impro es as the speaker is brought away from room boundaries. Mo e the loudspeaker in small increments (2-3 cm at a
time) and assess the changes until satisfied with the in-room balance. (Often, very small changes of the loudspeaker
position can result in a huge improvement in performance.)
MAINTENANCE
The MOMENTUM SX7i has no user-replaceable parts and requires no maintenance.
To clean, brush lightly with a soft, lint-free cloth. Should a fault condition arise, consult your dealer.

The MOMENTUM SX7i is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of fi e years.
