Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) are

RADIOLOGY AND MAMMOGRAPHY
The quality of the display system is key to realizing all
of the benefits of digital PACS. With NEC grayscale and
color diagnostic MultiSync®MD Series displays and the
included calibration software, you can be confident of
quick, accurate and uniform diagnosis. Our leading 5MP
grayscale display guarantees optimal image quality and
performance for digital mammography.
OPERATING ROOM (OR) AND INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU)
Critical areas, such as the operating room or intensive care
units require extremely reliable display solutions to review
medical images. In collaboration with our solution partners,
NEC integrates large-screen displays displays into high-end
hygienic and medically approved displays and PC systems
for ORs. NEC improves safety and eciency in the OR
with displays that are easy and quick to install, reducing
downtime during installation.
ORTHOPEDICS
NEC large-screen DICOM displays exceed surgeons’
clinical requirements by displaying high-quality, life-size
images of the part of the patient to be treated. Display
leg and spine images without compromising on quality
on our high-resolution screens in landscape or portrait
format, to the DICOM standard. NEC displays are non-
reflective, ensuring a clear view of the images, close up,
from a distance and adjust to display the optimum image
in high ambient light conditions.
PATHOLOGY
DICOM standard LCD displays provide an accurate means
of radiographic examination of subtle bone pathology
images. A DICOM standard LCD is a satisfactory
replacement for “detail” x-ray screen-film. Our DICOM
color MD Series displays and professional MultiSync P
and PA Series provide an accurate viewing technology for
digitized examination or review of organs, tissues, bodily
fluids and whole bodies.

Applications
Modern medical technology enables extremely complex
examinations, but in the end, it is the radiologist who
is responsible for fast and accurate diagnostic findings.
To support these findings in a soft copy reading
environment, LCD displays need to comply with the
highest visual requirements. Their image quality has a
decisive influence on diagnostic accuracy.
NEC is setting new standards with grayscale and color
displays for filmless diagnostics, with technologies that
are on the forefront in this market segment. All backed
by years of experience in the development of LCD
displays for professional use combined with intensive
research done in the medical market.
The most dicult decision to make when deploying
PACS or webPACS workstations to areas outside of
radiology such as emergency, clinics, orthopaedics, ICU
and ward, may be the type of display. In some areas,
diagnosis needs to be made quickly and accurately from
these displays. In other areas, displays are solely used
for review. Matching your IT budget for displays without
compromising on quality has until now been impossible.
NEC MultiSync MD, P and PA Series color displays have
been designed with reliability, quality and aordability
in mind. Unique, built-in firmware features (which you
will not find in o-the-shelf or system-bundled LCDs)
make the displays, which can be calibrated to the DICOM
grayscale display function using NEC’s GammaCompMD™
QA software, ideal for all review/referral PACS and
webACS applications.
PRIMARY DIAGNOSIS
MultiSync MD Series
These high-end diagnostic displays ensure the highest
level of image quality due to their high brightness,
uniformity, contrast and full DICOM Part 14 compliance.
These diagnostic displays are designed to operate
eciently as well. Most models feature an integrated
front sensor to constantly monitor the brightness of the
display. Additionally the MD212MC, MD213MC, MD211C2
and MD211C3 color displays incorporate a tri-stimulus
front sensor, which automatically maintains the stability
of the white point of the backlight for the usable life
of the display, counteracting the natural aging of the
product. The MD211C2 and MD211C3 feature an instant-on
LED backlight and a human presence sensor to allow the
display to conserve power when not in use.
GammaCompMD QA
This software provides accurate DICOM Part 14 as well as
backlight white point calibration and quality assurance
procedures for standalone and network applications,
making PACS hardware simpler and more cost-eective.

NAVIGATION AND INFORMATION DISPLAYS
MultiSync P and PA Series
These displays are an excellent value upgrade to standard
oce monitors, oering hospital-wide DICOM compliant
reviewing. MultiSync P and PA Series professional
performance desktop displays are ideal for Hospital/
Radiology Information System (HIS/RIS) applications or
as third navigation displays on workstations. Featuring a
built-in USB hub with DisplaySync Pro, these displays can
oer additional flexibility to HIS/RIS workstations.
CONFERENCE AND EDUCATION
NEC DICOM simulation projection solutions are suited for
meeting rooms or larger conference rooms. These DICOM
simulation projectors can integrate in a PACS rollout.
In addition to a DICOM preset mode, NEC P Series large-
screen displays support unique DICOM calibration, making
them ideal for viewing multiple X-ray images, MR scans,
CT scans, etc. – side-by-side. A built-in option slot allows
for the addition of a single board computer or other
expansion devices.
