10 Hood control
You can use the hood control to control the highly effi-
cient air extraction system that is integrated in the
cooking surface.
10.1 Manual ventilation control
You can control the ventilation setting manually.
Note:When tall items of cookware are used, we cannot
guarantee that the extraction system will work at op-
timum power. Extraction can be improved by placing
the lid on the cookware at an angle.
Activating the manual ventilation control
1. Touch .
The ventilation system starts at the preset perform-
ance level.
2. Within the next 10 seconds, use the twist knob to
select the required performance level.
The set performance level lights up.
3. Touch to confirm the setting.

10.2 Intensive ventilation setting
There are two intensive modes for the ventilation sys-
tem. If you activate the intensive settings, the ventilation
system works at maximum output for a short time.
Activating the intensive ventilation setting
1. Touch .
2. Select the required intensive setting:
‒Intensive setting I: Turn the rotary knob until
lights up above . The setting is activated.
‒Intensive setting II: Turn the rotary knob until
lights up above . The setting is activated.
Note:After approx. eightminutes, the appliance auto-
matically switches back to performance level .

10.3 Automatic start for the ventilation
system
If you select a performance level for a cooking zone,
the automatic start switches on.
As standard, the hob is supplied with sensor-controlled
automatic start. You can find out how to change this
setting in section
→"Basic settings", Page19.
Automatic start with sensor control
The air quality sensor automatically registers the cook-
ing vapours, selects the optimum performance level,
and the line above the display lights up.
Automatic start via performance levels
The ventilation system switches on at a performance
level in accordance with the respective performance
level for the cooking zone.
