Thisisamultifunctionalinverter,combiningfunctionsofinverter,solarchargerandbatterychargertooffer
uninterruptiblepowersupportwithportablesize.ItscomprehensiveLCDdisplayoffersuserconfigurableand
easilyaccessiblebuttonoperationsuchasbatterychargingcurrent,AC/solarchargerpriority,andacceptable
inputvoltagebasedondifferentapplications.

Thebatteryhasa6positiondip‐switchthatrequiresadjustmentpriortoconnectingtotheNV14Energy
StorageSystem.Thepositionofthefour(4)left‐mostdipswitchpinsdeterminesthebatteryIDwithin
theoverallsystem.EachbatterymusthaveauniqueID.Thefifth(5
th
)pindeterminesthe
communicationspeedsetting.Allbatteriesmusthavethispininthedown,orOFFposition.Theright‐
most,or6thpin,hasnoeffectandisreservedforfutureuse.LeavethisintheOFFposition.

Allinstallsmusthaveacriticalloadboxinstalledthatconsistsofthebasicloadsneededincaseofutility
gridfailureorpowerloss.TheNV14willprovidepowertothecriticalloadbox.Allneutralwiresforeach
criticalloadboxbreakermustbeisolatedfromthemainservicepanelandinstalledonthecriticalload
boxneutralbar.ThecriticalloadboxneutralbarmustbewiredtotheNV14OutputLoadNeutral
terminalblock.

5.1.4 IndoorLocationPreparation
TheNV14EnergyStorageSystemmustbeinstalledonarigid,flatlevelsurfacecapableofsupportingthe
fullweightofthecabinet.Ifinstalledinsideagarage,itmaybenecessarytoraisetheNV14abovethe
garageconcretesilltoallowtheNV14tobeplacedflushagainstthegaragewall.Ifaraisedplatformis
used,itmustbealevelandsturdyenoughtosupportthefullweightoftheNV14(575lbs).Theraised
platformmustextendbeyondtheNV14cabinetby3”onbothsidesandfront(Seefigure4).

TheNV14EnergyStorageSystemmaybeinstalledinanoutdoorlocationagainstawall–preferably
underaneave.TheNV14EnergyStorageSystemmustnotbeinstalledonasouth‐facingwalltoprevent
possibleoverheatingandashortenedbatterylife.
TheNV14EnergyStorageSystemmustbeinstalledonarigid,flatlevelsurfacecapableofsupportingthe
fullweightofthecabinet.Aconcretesurfaceorpre‐castconcretepadishighlyrecommended.Ifusinga
pre‐castpad,thepadmustbeaminimumof4”thickandoverhangthecabinetby3”onbothsidesand
front.

TheNV14EnergyStorageSystemmustbeinstalledusingthewallmountingbracketsandhardware
provided.Thewallmountingbracketsmustbeanchoredtoaminimumoftwo(2)verticalwallstuds
(Seefigure5).3/8”x2½”lagboltswithwashersmustbeusedtomountthewallmountingbracketto
theverticalstuds.
PositiontheWallMountingBracketsothatthetopoftheupperlipisapproximately½”‐¾”higherthan
thecabinetmountingbracketlowerlip(Seefigure4).Thecabinetisequippedwithlevelingfeetfor
minorheightadjustmentsasneeded.Alevelingfootadjustmenttoolisprovided.
Whenanadequateinstallationsitehasbeenprepared,positiontheNV14EnergyStorageSystem
cabinetinplaceagainstthewall.Liftthecabinetupafewinchestoclearthewallmountingbracket.
Lowerthecabinetsothatthecabinetmountingbracketmateswiththewallmountingbracket.Adjust
thelevelingfeetasneededtoensurethatallfour(4)levelingfeetaretouchingthefloororconcrete
slab.
CAUTION:
Allfourlevelingfeetmustbefirmlyonthesurface.Donot‘hang’thecabinet
solelyfromthewallmountingbracket.

Therearethree(3)batteriesthataresuppliedwiththeNV14EnergyStorageSystem.Theyaresupplied
separatelyandneedtobephysicallyinstalledandwired.Thebatteriesareshippedin‘sleepmode’.
Batteriesinsleepmodedonothaveanylivevoltageontheterminals.Whenabatteryisinsleepmode,
allindicatorsareunlit.Ifabattery‘wakesup’priortoinstalling,placeitintosleepmodebypressingthe
resetbuttonfor5seconds.Thebatteryresetbuttoncanbepressedusinganythin,solidmaterial(such
astheendofapaperclip).

thecabinetasthebatterywiringwillnotbelongenough.
Pushthelowerbatteriesbackintothecabinetflushagainstthebackofthecabinetandslide
batteryisbehindenclosurelip.Becarefulnotto‘pinch’battery.
Installthelowerbatteryholddownbracketpreviouslyremoved.
