Your grill will be veryhot. Neverleanover the cookingareawhile using your grill.Do not
touch cooking surfaces, grillhousing, lid or any other grill parts while the grill is in operation,
or untilthe gas grillhas cooleddown after use.
In the State of Massachusetts,the following installation instructions apply:
•Installations and repairs must be performed by a qualifiedor licensedcontractor, plumber,
or gasfitter qualified or licensed by the State of Massachusetts.
•If using a ball valve,itshall be a T-handle type.
•A flexible gasconnector,when used,must not exceed 3feet.
DANGER
1. Never operatethisappliance unattended.
2. Never operatethisappliance within 10 ft. / 3.05 m of any structure,combustible material or
other gas cylinder.
3. Never operatethisappliance within 25 ft. / 7.62 m of any flammable liquid.
4. Do notfill cooking vesselbeyondmaximum fill line.
5. Heatedliquidsremain at scalding temperatureslongafter the cookingprocess. Never
touch cooking appliance until liquids have cooled to 115ºF / 45ºC orless.
6. Thisappliance is not intended for and should never be used asa heater.
7. If a fire should occur, keep away from the appliance and immediately call your fire
department.Do not attempt to extinguish an oil or grease fire withwater.

COOKING GAS APPLIANCE. THIS GRILL IS FOR
OUTDOOR USE ONLY.
CAUTION: Spiders andsmall insectsoccasionally
spinwebs ormakenests in thegrill
burnertubes duringtransitand
warehousing.Thesewebs canlead
to gas flow obstruction,whichcould
resultina fire in andaround burner
tubes.This type of fire is knownas
“FLASH-BACK” and can cause serious damage to your
grillandcreate an unsafeoperatingconditionforthe user.
Although an obstructedburnertubeis not the only causeof
“FLASH-BACK”, it is the most common cause.
To reduce the chance of “FLASH-BACK”, you must clean
the burnertubes beforeassemblingyourgrill,andat least
once a monthin latesummerorearlyfall when spiders are
mostactive. Also perform this burnertube cleaning
procedure if your grill has not been used for an extended
period of time.A clogged tube can be lead to a fire
beneaththe grill.
Grill Installation Codes
Checkyour localbuildingcodes forthepropermethodof
installation.Inthe absence oflocalcodes,this unitshould
be installed in accordancewiththeNational FuelGas
Code,ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54, Storage and Handling of
LiquefiedPetroleum Gases,ANSI/NFPA B149.2or CSA
B149.1Natural Gas andPropaneInstallationCode,and
the NationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA 70.
Correct LP Gas Tank Use
LP gas grillmodels aredesigned forusewitha standard
20 lb. (9.1 kg) Liquid Propane Gas tank,not included with
grill.Never connectyour gas grillto an LP gas tankthat
exceeds this capacity.
NOTE: The normal flow of gas throughthe regulatorand
hoseassemblycancreate a hummingnoise.Alowvolume
of noiseis perfectlynormal and will notinterfere with
operationof the grill.If humming noiseis loud and
excessiveyou mayneedto purgeair from the gas lineor
resetthe regulatorexcess gas flowdevice. This purging
procedureshould bedoneeverytimea new LP gas tankis
connectedto your grill.

Visuallycheckthe burnerflames priorto eachuse.The
flames should looklikethis picture.If they donot, refer to
the burnermain tenancypart of this manual.

Diagrammatical Representation Of “Outdoor Areas”
1. An appliance is considered to be outdoors if installed with shelter no more inclusive than with walls on
three sides, but with no overhead cover; all openings must be permanently open; sliding doors, garage
doors, windows, or screened openings are not considered as permanent opening.
2. An appliance is considered to be outdoors if installed with shelter no more inclusive than within a partial
enclose that includes an overhead cover and no more than two sidewalls. The sidewalls may be parallel,
as in a breezeway, or at right angles to each other; all openings are not considered as permanent
openings
3. An appliance is considered to be outdoors if installed with shelter no more inclusive than with in a partial
enclosure that includes an overhead cover and three sidewalls, as long as 30% or more of the horizontal
periphery of the enclosure is permanently open. All openings must be permanently open; sliding doors,
garage doors, windows, or screened openings are not considered as permanent openings.
This appliance shall only be used in an above ground open-air situation with natural ventilation, without stagnant
areas, where gas leakage and products of combustion are rapidly dispersed by wind and natural convection.

Keep a spraybottle of soapywater nearthe gas supply
valve and checkthe connections beforeeachuse.
DO NOT USE ALUMINUM FOIL TO LINE THE GRILL
RACKS OR GRILL BOTTOM.
This can severelyupsetcombustionairflowortrap

SAFETY PRACTICES TO AVOID PERSONAL INJURY
When properlycared for your grillwillprovidesafe, reliable
service for manyyears. However, extreme care mustbe used
as the grillproduces intenseheatthatcanincreaseaccident
potential.When using this appliancebasicsafetypractices
mustbefollowed,includingthefollowing:
Do not repairor replace anypart of the grill unless
specificallyrecommendedinthis manual.All otherservice
should bereferredto a qualifiedtechnician.
This grill is not intended to be installedinoron recreational
vehicles or boats.
Children should notbe left alone orunattended in an area
where the grillis being used.Do not allow them to sit, stand
or playin or aroundthe grillat any time.
Do not storeitems ofinterestto childrenaroundorbelowthe
grill.
Do not permitclothing,potholders orother flammable
materials tocome in contact withor too close to any grate,
burneror hot surface until it has cooled.The fabric could
igniteandcause personal injury.
For personalsafety,wear properapparel.Loosefitting
garments orsleeves shouldneverbeworn whileusingthis
appliance.Somesyntheticfabrics arehighlyflammable and
shouldnotbeworn while cooking.
Only certaintypes of glass,heat-proofglass ceramic,
earthenware, or other glazed utensils aresuitable for grill use.
These materials maybreakwith suddentemperature
changes.Useonlyon lowor medium heatsettingsin
accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Do not heatunopened food containers.Abuild-up of
pressuremaycausethecontainers toburst.
Usea covered hand whenopening the grilllid.
Never lean over an opengrill.
When lightingaburner,pay close attentionto what you are
doing.Make certainyou areawareof whichburneryou are
lighting,soyour body andclothingremainclearofopen
flames.
WARNING
This outdoorcookinggas appliance is notintendedtobe
installed in oron boats.And other recreational vehicles. When using thegrill,do not touchthe grill rack, burnergrate
or immediatesurroundingsas these areasbecomeextremely
hot and could cause burns.Useonlydry potholders.Moistor
damppotholders onhotsurfaces maycausesteamburns.
Do not useatowel or bulkycloth inplace or potholders.Do
not allow potholders totouch hot portions ofthe grill rack.
Grease is flammable.Lethot greasecool before attempting
to handle it. Do not allow grease deposits to collectin the
grease tray at the bottom of the grill’s firebox. Clean the
greasetrayoften
For properlightingandperformanceofthe burners keep the
burnerports clean.It is necessaryto cleanthem periodically
for optimum performance.The burners will onlyoperatein
onepositionandmustbemountedcorrectlyfor safe
operation.
Cleanthe grill withcaution. To avoid steam burns,do notuse
a wet sponge orclothto clean the grill whileit is hot. Some
cleaners producetoxicfumes orcan igniteif appliedto a hot
surface.
Turn off grillcontrols and make certainthegrillis cool before
using anytype of aerosol cleaneron oraround the grill.The
chemicalthatproduces thesprayingactioncould,in the
presence ofheat, igniteor causemetal parts tocorrode.
Do not usethe grill to cookexcessivelyfatty meats orother
products whichpromoteflare-ups.
Do not operatethe grill underunprotected combustible
constructions.Useonlyin well ventilated areas.Do not use in
buildings,garages,sheds,breezeways orother such
enclosedareas.
Keep the area surroundingthegrillfreefrom combustible
materials including,fluids,trash,and vapors such as gasoline
or charcoallighterfluid.Do not obstructthe flow of
combustion andventilationair.
NEVER CONNECTAN UNREGULATED GAS
SUPPLY LINE TO THE APPLIANCE. USE THE
REGULATOR/HOSE ASSEMBLY SUPPLIED.
This is a liquid propaneconfiguredgrill.Do notattempt
to usea naturalgas supplyunless thegrillhas been
reconfiguredfornatural gas use.

LP-Gas Supply System
•If the informationis notfollowed
exactly, a fire resultingindeath
or serious injurycouldoccur.
•A 20 lb (9.1 kg) tank of approximately
11.9 in/ 304.8mm diameterby
18.49in / 469.9mm high is the
maximum sizeLPgas tank to use.
•The LP gas tank to be usedmustbe constructedand
markedinaccordancewiththe specifications forLP
Gas cylinder of the U.S. DepartmentofTransportation
(DOT) or the NationalStandard ofCanada,CAN/CSA –
B339, Cylinders,Spheres and Tubes forTransportation
of Dangerous Goods andCommission.
•The LP gas tank musthavea shutoffvalve terminating
in anLP valve outletthat is compatible withaType 1. LP
gas supplycylindermusthave a shutoff valve
terminatinginavalve outletspecifiedforconnectiontype
QCC1 in the standardfor compressedgas cylindervalve
outlet and inletconnectionANSI/CGA-V-1 as applicable.
LP gas supplycylindermustbe fitted withan Overfill
ProtectionDevice (O.P.D) The LP gas tank mustalso
have a safety reliefdevice that has a direct connection
with the vapor spaceof the tank. This safetyfeature
prevents the tank from being overfilled,whichcan cause
malfunctionofthe LP gas tank, regulatorand/orgrill.
•The tank supplysystem mustbe arrangedforvapor
withdrawal.
•The LP gas tank usedmusthavea collarto protect the
tank valve.
•Placedustcap on cylindervalve outletwhenever the
cylinder is not inuse.Only installthetype of dustcapon
the cylinder valve outlet that is provided with the cylinder
valve. Other types of cap or plugs mayresultinleakage
ofpropane.
•Never connect anunregulated LPgas tank to your gas
grill.
•This outdoorcookinggas applianceis equippedwitha
high-capacityhose/regulatorassemblyforconnection to
a standard20lb. (9.1 kg) Liquid propanecylinder.
•Have your LP gas tank filled by a reputable propane gas
dealerandvisuallyinspectedandre-qualifiedateach
filling.
•Do not storea spareLPgas cylinderunderor near this
appliance.
•Never fill the cylinder beyond80 percentfull.
•Always keep LP gas tankin an uprightposition.
•Do not storeor use gasoline orotherflammable vapors
and liquids in the vicinity of this or any otherappliance.
•Storageof an outdoorcooking gas applianceindoorsis
permissible onlyif the cylinderis disconnected and
removedfrom the outdoorcooking gas appliance.
•When your gas grillis not in usethegas mustbeturned
off at LP gas tank.

•The regulatorandhose assemblymustbeinspected
before each use of the grill.If there is excessive
abrasion orwearor if the hoseis cut, it mustbe replaced
priorto the grill beingputinto operation.The
replacementhose assemblyshall be that specified by
the manufacturer.
•Pressureregulatorandhoseassemblysuppliedwiththe
outdoorcookinggas appliance mustbe used.Never
substituteothertypes of regulator.Contactcustomer
service for manufacturerspecifiedreplacementparts.
•This outdoorcookinggas applianceis equippedwitha
pressureregulatorcomplywiththe standardfor
PressureRegulatingValves for LP Gas ANSI/ UL 144.
•Do not usebriquettes ofanykind inthe grill.
•The grillis designedforoptimum performance without
the use of briquettes.Do not place briquettes on the
radiantas this willblockoff the areafor the grillburners
to vent. Adding briquettes candamageignition
components and knobsandvoid the warranty.
•Keep the back andsidecart free and clear from debris.
Keep any electrical supplycord, or the rotisserie motor
cord awayfrom the heatedareas of the grill.
•Never usethe grillin extremelywindyconditions.If
locatedin a consistentlywindyarea(oceanfront,
mountaintop,etc.)a windbreakwillberequired.Always
adhereto the specified clearance.
•Never usea dentedor rustypropane tank.
•Keepany electricalsupplycordand the fuelsupplyhose
awayfrom anyheatedsurface.
•While lighting,keepyour face andhands as far away
from the grillas possible.
•Burneradjustmentshouldonlybe performed afterthe
burnerhave cooled.
WARNING
Your grillwillget very hot.Never leanover the cooking
area whileusingyour grill.Do not touchcookingsurfaces,
grill housing,lidorany othergrillparts whilethe grillis in
operation,or untilthe gas grillhas cooleddownafteruse.
Failure to comply with these instructions may result in
serious bodily injury.

Gas Hook-Up
L.P. TANK REQUIREMENT
A dented or rusty L.P.tank maybe hazardous and should be
checkedby your L.P. supplier.Neveruse a cylinder witha
damaged valve. The L.P. gas cylindermustbe constructed
and marked in accordance withthe specifications forL.P. gas
cylinders of the U.S. DepartmentofTransportation(DOT)or
the National Standard of Canada, CAN/CSA-B339, Cylinders,
Spheres and Tubes forTransportationofDangerous Goods;
and Commission,as applicable.Overfillingprevention device
(OPD) shall be providedon cylinder & QCC1 connectionon
the cylinder valve, ANSI/CGA-V-1. The cylinder supply
system mustbe arranged forvapor withdrawal.The cylinder
mustinclude a collarto protect the cylinder valve. The
cylinder mustbeprovidedwith a shutoffvalve terminal in an
L.P. gas supplycylindervalve outlet specified,as applicable,
for connection type QCC1 in the standard forcompressed
gas cylindervalve outletand inletconnection ANSI/CGA-V-1.
Manifold pressure: 11” water column (W.C.).
3. Make sure all burnervalves are in their off position.
4. Inspect valve connections, port, and regulator assembly.
Lookfor anydamage ordebris.Removeanydebris.
Inspecthosefor damage.Neverattemptto use
damaged orobstructedequipment.See your localL.P.
gas dealerfor repair.
5. When connectingregulatorassemblyto the valve, hand
tightenthe quick couplingnutclockwisetoa complete
stop.Do not usea wrenchto tighten. Useof a wrench
maydamagethe quickcouplingnutand resultin a
hazardous condition.
6. Open the tank valve fully (counterclockwise).Applythe
soap solutionwithacleanbrushtoall gas connections.
See below.If growingbubblesappearinthesolution
the connections are notproperlysealed.Checkeach
fitting and tighten or repairas necessary.
7. If you have a gas connectionleakyou cannotrepair,
turn gas OFF at supplytank, disconnectfuellinefrom
your grillandcall1- 800-913-8999oryour gas supplier
for repairassistance.
8. Also applysoapysolution to the tank seams. See below.
If growingbubbles appear,shuttankOFF and do not
use or move it! Contact anLP gas supplieroryour fire
departmentforassistance.
To disconnectL.P. gas cylinder:
1. Turn the burnervalves off.
2. Turn the tank valve off fully (turn clockwisetostop).
3. Detach the regulatorassemblyfrom the tank valve by
turningthe quickcouplingnutcounterclockwise.

TANK RUBBER SEAL INSPECTION
1. The cylinder face elastomericfacesealelementon
thesedevices could,over time,showmarkedand visible
damage ordeterioration thatmightcausealeakeven
with the connectiontightened.
2. Visualinspectionforthe sealmustbecarriedoutevery
time a LP gas cylinderis replaceor refilled.
3. LP-gas cylindershowingsigns ofdamageor
deterioration,includingvisiblecracks andpitting,must
be return unused tothe seller.
CONNECTION
Your stainless steel grillis equippedwithgas supplyorifices
for useonlywith liquid propane gas.It is also equipped witha
highcapacityhose/regulatorassemblyfor connection toa
standard 20 lb. (9.1kg) L.P.cylinder 18.49 in / 469.9 mm high,
11.9 in. / 304.8 mm diameter).
To connect the L.P.gas supplycylinder, pleasefollowthe
steps below:
1. Make suretankvalve is inits fulloff position(turn
clockwisetostop).
2. Checktank valve to assureithas properexternalmale
threads (type 1 connectionperANSI Z21.81).
The cylinder should bemounted suchthatthepressurerelief
value outlet is not oriented toward the normal operating
positionofthe user.
L.P. GAS HOOK-UP
Ensure that the blackplasticgrommets on the LP cylinder
valve are in placeandthat the hose does notcomeinto
contact with the greasetrayor the grillhead.

GENERAL
Although allgas connections onthe grill are leak tested at
the factory prior to shipment,acompletegas leaktestcheck
mustbe performed atthe installation siteduetopossible
mishandlinginshipment,orexcessivepressureunknowingly
being appliedtothe unit. Periodicallycheckthe whole system
for leaks followingthe procedures listedbelow.Ifthe smell of
gas is detectedat anytime you should immediatelycheckthe
entire system for leaks.
BEFORE TESTING
Make sure that allpackingmaterialis removedfrom the grill
including tie-downstraps.
DO NOT SMOKE WHILE LEAK TESTING.
NEVER PERFORM LEAK TEST WITH AN OPEN FLAME.
Make a soap solution ofone partliquid detergentandone
part water. You will need a spraybottle, brush,or rag to
applythe solution tothe fittings.For the initialleaktest, make
sure the L.P. cylinder is 80% full.
TO TEST
1. Make sure the control valves are in the “ ○” position
and turn on the gas supply.
2. Checkall connections from theL.P. gas regulatorand
supplyvalve up to and including theconnectiontothe
manifold pipe assembly(the pipethat goes to the
burners).Soapbubbles willappearwhere a leakis
present.
3. If a leakis present,immediatelyturn off the gas supply
and tighten the leakyfittings.
4. Turn the gas backon and recheck.
5. Should the gas continue toleak from any of the fittings,
turn off the gas supplyandcontact customerserviceat
1-800-913-8999,language spoken:English,French,
Spanish 8a.m.-5p.m., PST. Monday-Friday.
Leak Testing
ALWAYS CHECK FOR LEAKS AFTER EVERY L.P.
TANK CHANGE
Check all gas supply fittings for leaksbefore each use.
It is handy to keep a spray bottle of soapy water near
the shut-off valve of the gas supply line. Spray all the
fittings. Bubbles indicate leaks.
Your grill is ready to use!

GAS FLOW CHECK
Each grillburneris testedandadjustedatthe factory prior to
shipment;however,variations in the localgas supplymay
make it necessarytoadjustthe burners.Theflames ofthe
burners shouldbevisuallychecked.
Flames should be blueandstablewithno yellow tips,
excessivenoiseorlifting. If anyof theseconditions exist,
check to see if the air shutteror burnerports areblockedby
dirt, debris,spiderwebs,etc.If you have any questions
regardingflame stability,please call customerservice
1-800-913-8999,language spoken:English,French,Spanish

Operating Instructions
NOTE: The hot grill sears thefood, sealing in the juices.

USING THE GRILL
Grillingrequires highheatforsearingandproperbrowning.
Most foods are cookedat the highheat settingfor the entire
cooking time.However, when grilling large pieces ofmeator
poultry, it maybe necessaryto turn the heat to the lower
settingafter the initialbrowning.This cooks thefoodthrough
withoutburningthe outside.Foods cookedfora longtime or
foods bastedwitha sugarymarinademayneedthelower
heat setting nearthe end of the cooking time.

Lighting Instructions
TO LIGHT THE MAIN
Make sureallknobs are off then turn on the gas supplyfrom
the LP (LiquidPropane)tank.Always keepyour face and
bodyas far from the grillas possiblewhen lighting.
For outdoorgrills usinggas supplysource otherthana 20 lb
(9.1 kg) LP gas fuel tank, open the manualshutoffvalve in
the gas supplyline.The valve is open whenthe handleis
paralleltothe gas pipe.
To light your mainburner,pushand turn mainburnercontrol
knob to “ ”, at the same time, press and hold electronic
ignitionbuttonto light the burner.Once the burneris lit,
releasetheelectronicignition buttonand knob.If the burner
does notlight wait5 minutes forany excess gas todissipate

Inspect the gas supply hose prior to turning the gas “ON”. If
there is evidence of cuts, wear, or abrasion,itmustbe

Never substituteregulators andhoseassemblyfor those
supplied withthegrill.If a replacementis necessary,contact

WARNING
Always keep your face and bodyas far away from the
burneras possiblewhenlighting. Each burner is adjusted prior to shipment;
however, variationsin the local gas supply may
make minor adjustments necessary.
Keep a spray bottle of soapy water near the gas
supply valve and check the connections before
each use.
CAUTIONS
Place dust cap on cylinder valve outlet when the
cylinder is not in use. Only install the type of dust cap
on the cylinder valve outlet that is provided with the
cylinder valve. Other types of capsor plugs may result
in leakageof propane.
The gas must be turned off at the supply cylinder
when the unit is not in use.
If the appliance is stored indoors the cylinder must be
disconnected and removed from the appliance.
Cylinders must be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated
area out of the reachof children.
Do not attempt to light the grill if odor of gas is
present. Call for service 1-800-913-8999,

1. If the burner will not light after several
attempts, then the burner can be match lit,
before using the match allow 5 minutes for
any accumulated gas to dissipate.
2. Clip a match on one end of the lighting rod.
3. Light match.
4. Hold lighting rod and insert lighted match
right next to the burner ports or ceramic file.
5. Push and turn the designated control knob
to " ".
6. Burner should ignite immediately.

HOW TO REPLACE MAIN BURNER
Step 1. Remove the main burner “R” pin on the back wall
of fire box by usingneedlenosepliers.Use a flathead
screwdriverto remove burnerpin cover, thenremove the
burnerfrom the fire box, as shownbelow.
Step 2. Insertthe burneronto the orifice andsecure the
burnerpin cover on the burner,as shown below,make
sure burnerhole aim at orifice .
Step 3. Securethe mainburneronthe back wall of fire box
with “R” Pin. And install the burner pin by using
screwdriver.
STAINLESS STEEL
There are manydifferent stainless steel cleanersavailable.
Always usethe mildestcleaningprocedure first,scrubbing
in the direction of the grain.Do not usesteelwoolas itwill
scratchthe surface.To touch up noticeable scratchesin the
stainlesssteel,sand verylightlywith dry 100 grit emery
paperin the directionof the grain.Specks of greasecan
gatheron the surfaces ofthe stainlesssteeland bakeonto
the surfaceandgive the appearance ofrust.For removal
usea mildabrasivepad in conjunction withastainlesssteel
cleaner.
GRILL GRATE
The easiestwayto cleanthe grillis immediatelyafter
cookingis completedandafterturningoff the flame.Wear a
barbequemittto protect your handfrom the heat andsteam.
Dip a brass bristlebarbequebrushin waterandscrub the
hot grill.Dip the brushfrequentlyin the bowlof water.
Steam,created as watercontacts the hot grill, assists the
cleaningprocessbysofteninganyfood particles.Ifthe grill
is allowed tocool beforecleaning,cleaningwillbemore
difficult.
ENSURE THAT THE GAS SUPPLY AND THE KNOBS
ARE IN THE “○” POSITION. MAKE SURE THE RANGE
TOP BURNER IS COOL BEFORE REMOVAL.
GRILL BURNERS
Extreme care shouldbe takenwhen movinga burneras it
mustbecorrectly centered on the orifice beforeany attempt
is madeto relightthe grill.Frequencyof cleaningwill
dependonhow often you usethe grill.
MAIN BURNER CLEANING
Ensure the gas supply is off and the knobs are in the “○”
position.Make sure thegrill is cool. Clean the exterior of the
burnerwith a wirebrush.Clearstubbornscalewitha metal
scraper.Clearanyclogged ports witha straightenedpaper
clip. Never use a wooden toothpickas it maybreakoff and

GREASE TRAY CLEANING
The greasetrayshouldbeemptiedandwipeddown
periodicallyandwashwitha milddetergentandwarm water
solution.Asmall amountofsandmaybe placedin bottom
of grease tray to absorbthegrease.Checkthe grease tray
frequently, do not allow excess greaseto accumulateand
overflow out of the grease tray.

IMPORTANCE OF GRIDDLE SEASONING
It is very importantto maintain aseasoned griddle surface
in orderto maintainoptimumperformanceand longlifeof
the unit. Seasoning yourgriddle serves two purposes:
a) It prevents rustandcorrosion.
b) It creates a permanentnon-stickcookingsurface.
Seasoningis aprocessthatcontinuouslyimproves
throughoutthe lifeof your griddle.Propercare and
maintenance as wellas seasoningaftereachuse willresult
in a better cooking experience.
FIRST TIME USE
Your griddle comes pre-seasoned withacoating of cooking
oil to prevent corrosion and damage during the shipping
process.Before using yourgriddle for the firsttime, wash
the top andinsides ofthegriddle surfacewithhot,soapy
water. Never usesoap on your griddleAFTER FIRST USE.
Rinseanddrycompletelythen continueto seasoning steps.
SEASONING YOUR GRIDDLE
1. Thoroughlycleanoff food residue.
2. Evenly applya generous amountofcookingoil(flax
seed,olive, vegetable, etc.) to the hot griddlesurface.
3. Using apapertowel, carefullyspread cooking oil to
entire hot griddle surface.
4. Allow griddle to cool completelybefore storing in a cool,
dry place.
AFTER EACH USE
To cleanyour griddle followingeach use,gentlyscrape any
remaining food residue with aspatula and wipe with a towel.
To remove stuckfood, pourhot water onto griddlesurface
to loosenresidueoruse ¼cup of tablesaltto act as an
abrasive. Next, follow steps for “SEASONING YOUR
GRIDDLE”.
Troubleshooting
SPIDER AND INSECT WARNING
Checkingandcleaningburner/venturitubes for insects and
insectnests.Aclogged tubecan lead to a fire beneaththe
grill.Although an obstructedburnertube is not the onlycause
of “FLASH-BACK”, it is the most common cause.
To reduce the chance of “FLASH-BACK”, you must clean the
burnertubes before assemblingyourgrill,andat leastoncea
monthinlate summerorearlyfall whenspiders are most
active. Also perform this burnertubecleaningprocedure if
your grill has notbeenusedfor an extendedperiod.
WHEN TO LOOK FOR SPIDERS
You should inspecttheburners atleastoncea year or
immediatelyafter anyof the following conditionsoccur:
1. The smell ofgas in conjunctionwiththe burnerflames
appearing yellow.
2. The grill does notreach temperature.
3. The grill heats unevenly.
4. The burners make poppingnoises.
BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE
If the grill does notfunction properly, use thefollowingcheck
listbefore contacting your dealerfor service. You maysave
the costof a service call.
PREHEATING: The grilllidshould be in a closedposition
duringthe preheattimeperiod.It is necessaryto preheatthe
grill beforecooking certainfoods,dependingonthetype of
food and the cooking temperature.Foodthat requires ahigh
cookingtemperatureneeds a pre-heatperiodoffive minutes;
food that requires a lowercooking temperature needsonlya
periodof two to three minutes.
COOKING TEMPERATURES
High setting-Usethis setting forfastwarm-up,forsearing
steaks andchops,andgrilling.
Low setting-Usethis settingforallroasting,baking,andwhen
cooking very leancuts such as fish.
These temperatures varywiththe outsidetemperature and
the amountof wind.
Cooking within-directHeat: You can cook poultryand large
cuts of meatslowlyto perfectionon oneside of the grillby
indirectheat from the burneron the otherside.Heat from the
lit burnercirculates gentlythroughoutthe grill,cooking the
meator poultrywithout anydirect flametouching it. This
method greatlyreduces flare-ups when cooking extrafatty
cuts, because there is no directflame to light the fats and
juices thatdrip downduring cooking.
CAUTION: If burners goout during operation,close gas
supplyat source,and turn all gas valves off. Openlid and
wait five minutes before attempting torelight(this allows
accumulated gas fumestoclear).
CAUTION: Shoulda greasefireoccur, closegas supplyat
source, turn offall burners and leave lid closed until fire is out.
CAUTION: DO NOT attempt to disconnectanygas fitting
while your grillis in operation.As with allappliances,proper
care andmaintenancewill keep them intopoperating
condition and prolong theirlife. Your gas gill is no exception.
CAUTION: Sear burnerlid will get hot if used when lid is
closed.

PROBLEM SOLUTION
When attempting to light mygrill,it will
not lightimmediately. Make sure you have a sparkwhileyou are trying to lightthe burner(if nospark). Checkif the battery is installedproperly.
Ensure that the wireis connectedto the electrode assembly.
Cleanwire(s)and / or electrodewith rubbing alcoholandaclean swab.Wipe
with a clean cloth.
Checkto see if the otherburners operate.If so,check the gas orifice on the
malfunctioningburnerforan obstruction.
Regulatormakes noise. Vent hoseonthe regulatormaybe plugged orregulatormaybe faulty. Ensure
the vent holeon the regulatoris notobstructed.Clearthe hole,close the gas
controlvalves. Wait ten minutes and re-start.
Checkyour flames forproperperformance.Ifthe flames are notcorrect,
replaceregulator.
Full sizecover does notfit the grill. Cover maybe incorrectfor your grill. It maybea tight fit.
Ensure the cover is the correct lengthfor your grill.
Measure it from left to right. Compare to the grill’s measurement.
Comparethe locationandsizeof the hoodportionof the cover to your grill.
Spread the cover and allowit to relax, preferablyin warm sunlightorina warm
room.
For grills witha side shelf,bunchthecover likea sockand put onleft to right.
Grill onlyheats to 93-149°C / 200-300°F. Checkto seeif the fuelhose is bentor kinked.
Make sure the grill area is clearof dust.
Make suretheburnerand orifices are clean.
Checkfor spiders andinsects.
The regulatorhas a safety device that restricts the flow of gas in the event of a
leak. This safetydevice can be triggeredwithouta gas leak. To resetthe safety
device, turn off allburners and closetheLP tank valve. Disconnectthe
regulatorfrom the LP tank andwait oneminute.Reconnectthe regulatorto the
LP tank andslowlyopen the LP tank valve untilthe valve is fully open.Light all
burners andobservethetemperature.
Grill takes a longtime to preheat. Normalpreheat260-316°C/500-600°F,takes about10-15 min.Coldweather
and wind mayeffect your preheattime.
If you areusingvolcanicrock or briquettes theycan increasethepreheattime
and maximum temperature.
Burnerflames arenot lightblue. Too muchor not enoughairfor the flame.
Elevation is the principalcause,howevercold weathercan affect the mixture.
Burneradjustmentmaybe required.
Grill is in a windylocation.

Pour réduirelerisquede« RETOURS DE FLAMME »,
vous devez nettoyer les tuyaux de brûleurs avantde
montervotre gril et au moins unefois parmois àla fin de
l'été et au débutde l'automnelorsquelesaraignéessont
particulièrementactives.Nettoyez égalementles tuyauxde
brûleurs si votre griln'a pas servi pendantune longue
période.Un tube bouchépeutcauserunfeu en dessous
du gril.
Codes d'installation du gril
Vérifiez les codes du bâtimentlocauxconcernantla
méthode d’installation appropriée. En l'absence de ces
derniers, l’unité doit être installée conformément au code
nationaldegaz decombustion ANSIZ223.1/NFPA 54,
code d'entreposageetdemanutentiondegazpropane
liquéfié ANSI /NFPA B149.2 ou au code d’installation de
gaz naturel et de gazpropane CSA B149.1et au code
national d’électricité, ANSI/NFPA 70.
Utilisation appropriée de la bouteille de gaz PL
Les modèlesdegrilaupropaneliquidesontdestinésàêtre
utilisés avecunréservoirde propaneliquidestandard9,1
kg (20 lb), non compris avecle gril.Ne branchez jamais
votre grilà gaz à un réservoirde propaneliquide
dépassantcettecapacité.
REMARQUE : l'écoulementnormaldugazà travers
l'ensemble tuyau et régulateurpeutengendrerun
bourdonnement.Àfaible volume,ce bruit esttout à fait
normaletn'affecte pas le fonctionnementdugril.Par
contre, sile bourdonnementestbruyant et excessif,il peut
s’avérer nécessaire de purger l'air du conduit de gaz ou ré-
installer en place lerégulateurd'écoulementdegaz. Cette
purgedevrait être effectuée à chaque fois qu'unnouveau
réservoirde LP estbranché à votre gril.

Nettoyer legril avec précaution.Pour éviter toute brûlurede
vapeur, ne pas utiliser d’éponge ou de chiffon mouillés pour
nettoyer le gril quand il estencorechaud. Certains produits
de nettoyage dégagentdes fuméestoxiques oupeuvent
s’enflammer s’ils sont appliqués sur une surface chaude.

froid avant d’utiliser des nettoyants en aérosol sur ou autour
