Thank you for purchasing a NEXT Audiocom MX120 mixer
amplifier. This user manual will provide you with useful and
important information about your equipment. Please devote
some time reading it and keep it at hand for future reference.

UNPACKING
NEXT Audiocom’s products are built under strict quality
guidelines and supervision, according to the highest standards.
When unpacking your product, carefully examine it for any signs
of possible transit damage and inform your dealer immediately if
any such damage has occurred. It is suggested that you retain the
original packaging so that the product can be repacked in the
future when necessary. Please note that NEXT Audiocom and its

WARNINGS
CAUTION:
Never remove the cover, because otherwise there may be a risk
of electric shock. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Have
repairs carried out only by qualified service personnel.
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral
triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of
uninsulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure
that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electrical
shock.
The exclamation mark within an equilateral triangle is intended to
alert the user to the presence of important operating and
maintenance instructions.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
MP3 PLAYER - The MP3 player is automatically enabled as soon
as you insert the USB stick. If the USB device is already inserted,
press the mode button (page 2 button 12; page 3 button 2) until
the display shows USB. The MP3 files may be either in the root of
the device or in folders. Other file types will be ignored if they
exist.
Reproduction - Any present MP3 tracks are played automatically
as soon as a USB data device is inserted. Press play/pause button
on the front panel (page 2 button 15) or the remote control
(page 3 button 4) to interrupt the reproduction and press again
to resume. Press the Next button to play next song and the
Previous button to play the previous song. You can also directly
input the number correspondent to the track you want to listen.
Just type the track ID number.
Ordering MP3 Tracks
You may want to play your tracks in a specific order. Change the
name of the tracks inserting the number correspondent to the
order you wish followed by a dot. Ex.: 1.track_x.mp3,
2.track_y.mp3, etc.
Repeat
The repeat function can be activated only on the remote control.
Press the repeat button (page 3 button 12) once to repeat the
current song. Press again to repeat all songs like a playlist.
BT - To enable the BT mode of operation, press the Mode button
until the words “bt” appear on the screen followed by an
intermittent dot. This intermittent dot signifies that the MX120 is
waiting for pairing to be completed. On your smartphone or
tablet enter the BT menu and search the available devices for
“NEXT MX120”. If a password is requested write “2020”. When
pairing is successful, the intermittent dot on the MX120
disappears. The MX120 is also moved to the paired devices list.
AUXILIARY MODE - In the MX120, the Auxiliary mode disables
the MP3/BT module and enables working only with cable
connected equipment such as CD Players, Tuners, or others.
Press the MODE button (page 2 button 12; page 3 button 2) until
the display shows “AUX”.

INPUT CONNECTIONS
The MX120 provides 2 microphone inputs and 2 auxiliary line
inputs. Mic2 and Aux1 inputs share the same channel. To select
which will be the active input, use the selector switch on the back
(page 2 number 4). Mic2 input is also phantom power capable
and is also selectable through the same switch.
When phantom power is enabled, be careful to choose the right
cable for your microphone. It must be a balanced type cable to
provide phantom power effectively.
On the other hand, the Mic1 input must be an unbalanced XLR
to TS ¼” cable. It is also important to use a microphone that can
be switched on and off.
PRIORITY INPUTS
The MX120 supports a priority function where when a priority
signal is present, the volume of the regular signals is cut down to
improve the message intelligibility. The level values are defined
individually. In addition to Mic1 input, the MX120 also has two
more inputs that are managed as priority inputs. These are
intended to provide a means to connect an already existing
system, like an announcement or a security system.

The MX120 is prepared to accomplish this in one of two ways. If
the existing system has a “Line Out” output, it can be connected
to the priority line input connector on the back of the MX120. If
this is not possible, the MX120 still has the possibility of
connecting the 100V output of this system to the 100V priority
input next to the line input. The rear priority inputs volume is
defined on a potentiometer on the back panel.
ATTENTION! – Only one of these methods can be used. Do not
use both the line input signal and the 100V signal at the same
time.
100V DISTRIBUTED LINE OUTPUT
The MX120 is designed as a 100V output amplifier for distributed
lines. This requires the use of speakers designed specifically for
this kind of output. These speakers will have a transformer as the
input, normally with more than one power tap. The 100V
distributed line is the best method when you need to deploy
many speakers over a wide area. The higher voltage allows for a
lower current at the same power rating, which in turn allows the
use of longer and thinner cables with little loss.
On the table below you can find the maximum distance a cable
can deliver the amplifier full power.
The high impedance also allows the use of more speakers if the
total sum of the power ratings configured in those speakers is not
higher than the power rating of the amplifier.
For the MX120 this means that the sum of the power ratings of
all the speakers connected cannot be higher than 120W. For a
safe use we recommend it to be 10 to 20% lower to allow for a
little headroom to handle peaks from the music program. Using
more than this will likely damage the amplifier, or at the minimum
cause unpleasant distorted sound that given enough time, will
damage the speakers through excessive heat on the speaker’s coil.

The warranty can be transferred to a subsequent owner during
the warranty period, however, this cannot extend the warranty
period beyond the original warranty period of two years from the
original date of purchase stated on the NEXT Audiocom’s
invoice. During the warranty period NEXT Audiocom will, at its
own discretion, either repair or replace a product which prove to
be defective provided that the product is returned in its original
packaging, shipping prepaid, to an authorized NEXT Audiocom
service agent or distributor.
NEXT Audiocom cannot be held responsible for defects caused
by unauthorized modifications, improper use, negligence,
exposure to inclement weather conditions, act of God or
accident, or any use of this product that is not in accordance with
the instructions provided by this manual and/or NEXT Audiocom.
NEXT Audiocom is not liable for consequential damages. This
warranty is exclusive, and no other warranty is expressed or
implied.
This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.
CORRECT DISPOSAL
When the MX120 is to be definitively discarded, take the product
to a local recycling plant for a disposal which is not harmful to the
environment. This equipment should not be treated as general
household waste.
Devices marked with this symbol must not be disposed of as
household waste. For more information, please contact your
retailer or local authorities.

WARRANTY POLICY
NEXT Audiocom products are warranted, by NEXT Audiocom,
against manufacturing defects in materials or craftsmanship over a
period of 2 years counting from the date of original purchase for
final costumer. The original receipt of purchase is mandatory for
warranty validation purposes, and the product must have been
bought from a NEXT Audiocom authorized dealer.

Prima para aumentar o volume do MP3 ou BT

Apenas em MP3, prima para alternar entre repetir a faixa
corrente ou reproduzir todas as faixas
INSTRUÇÕES DE OPERAÇÃO
LEITOR MP3 - O leitor MP3 é ativado automaticamente assim
que inserir um dispositivo USB. Se o dispositivo USB já estiver
inserido, prima o botão de função (página 7 botão 12; botão 8
página 2) até que o visor apresente USB. Os ficheiros MP3
podem estar na raiz do dispositivo ou em pastas. Outros tipos de
ficheiro serão ignorados se existirem.
Reprodução - Quaisquer faixas MP3 são reproduzidas
automaticamente assim que um dispositivo de dados USB é
inserido. Prima o botão de reprodução/pausa no painel frontal
(botão 15 da página 7) ou no telecomando (botão 4 da página 8)
para interromper a reprodução e prima novamente para retomar.
Pressione o botão Avançar para reproduzir a próxima música e o
botão Retroceder para reproduzir a música anterior. Também
pode inserir diretamente o correspondente número da faixa que
pretende ouvir. Basta escrever o número de identificação da faixa.
Ordenar as Faixas MP3
Talvez queira reproduzir as suas faixas numa ordem específica.
Para isso é necessário alterar o nome das faixas para conterem o
número correspondente à ordem que deseja, seguida de um
ponto. Ex.: 1.track_x.mp3, 2.track_y.mp3, etc.
Repetição
A função de repetição só pode ser ativada através do
telecomando. Prima o botão de repetição (botão 12 da página 8)
uma vez para repetir a música atual. Pressione novamente para
reproduzir todas as músicas.
BT - Para ativar o modo de funcionamento BT, prima o botão de
MODE até que as palavras "bt" apareçam no ecrã seguidas de um
ponto intermitente. Este ponto intermitente significa que o
MX120 está à espera de que o emparelhamento seja concluído.
No seu smartphone ou tablet entre no menu BT e procure nos
dispositivos disponíveis por "NEXT MX120". Se for solicitada uma
palavra-passe escreva "2020". Quando o emparelhamento é
bem-sucedido, o ponto intermitente no ecrã do MX120
desaparece. O MX120 também é movido para a lista de
dispositivos emparelhados no seu dispositivo.
MODO AUXILIAR - O modo Auxiliar desativa os módulos MP3 e
BT e permite trabalhar apenas com equipamentos ligados por
cabo, tais como Leitores de CD, sintonizadores ou outros. Prima
o botão MODE (botão 12 página 7; botão 2 página 8) até que o
visor apresente "AUX".

LIGAÇÕES
LIGAÇÕES DE ENTRADA
O MX120 contém 2 entradas de microfone e 2 entradas de sinal
auxiliar. As entradas Mic2 e Aux1 partilham o mesmo canal. Para
selecionar a entrada ativa, utilize o comutador seletor no painel
de traseiro (página 7 número 4). A entrada MIC2 pode fornecer
“Phantom Power” sendo selecionada esta função também
através do mesmo comutador.
Quando estiver ativado o “Phantom Power”, tenha cuidado ao
escolher o cabo certo para o microfone. Deve ser um cabo
balanceado para funcionar corretamente.
Por outro lado, na entrada Mic1 deve estar conectado um cabo
não balanceado XLR para TS ¼”. Também é importante utilizar
um microfone que possa ser ligado e desligado através de
interruptor.
ENTRADAS PRIORITÁRIAS
O MX120 suporta uma função de prioridade em que quando um
sinal prioritário está presente, o volume dos outros sinais é
reduzido para melhorar a inteligibilidade da mensagem. Estes
valores são definidos individualmente. Além da entrada Mic1, o
MX120 também tem duas outras entradas que são entradas
prioritárias. Estas destinam-se a fornecer um meio de inserir um
sistema já existente, como por exemplo um sistema de segurança.
O MX120 está preparado para o conseguir de
duas maneiras. Se o sistema existente tiver uma saída de sinal,
este pode ser ligado ao conector de entrada de sinal prioritário
de 300mV no painel traseiro do MX120. Se isso não for possível,
o MX120 tem ainda a possibilidade de ligar a saída de potência de
100V deste sistema à entrada prioritária de 100V junto à entrada
de sinal. O volume das entradas de prioridade na traseira é
definido num potenciómetro também no painel traseiro.
ATENÇÃO! –– Estes dois métodos de ligação não podem ser
utilizados em simultâneo. Não utilize o sinal de entrada de sinal
300mV ao mesmo tempo que o sinal de 100V.
SAÍDA DE LINHA DE 100V
O MX120 foi concebido como um amplificador para linhas de
100V. Estas requerem a utilização de colunas projetadas
especificamente para este tipo de utilização. Estas colunas terão
um transformador na entrada, normalmente com mais do que um
“tap” de potência. A linha de 100V é o melhor método quando é
necessário implantar muitas fontes sonoras numa área ampla. A
tensão mais alta permite uma corrente mais baixa para a mesma
potência, o que por sua vez, permite a utilização de cabos mais
longos e finos com pouca perda.
Na tabela abaixo pode verificar-se a distância máxima que um
cabo pode ter, de acordo com a sua secção (Section) para
fornecer a potência total do amplificador (Power) sem perdas
significativas.
A elevada impedância também permite a utilização de mais
colunas desde que a soma total das potências configuradas nas
colunas não seja superior à potência do amplificador. Para o
MX120 isto significa que a soma das potências de todas as
colunas ligadas não pode ser superior a 120W. Para uma
utilização segura, recomendamos que seja 10 a 20% inferior para
permitir um pouco de tolerância para aguentar os picos do
programa musical. A utilização de mais de 120W poderá danificar
o amplificador, ou causar som distorcido e

com este símbolo não devem ser eliminados como lixo
