Turn off in the event of
malfunction
Should you notice smoke or an
unusual smell coming from the
camera or ACIadapter, unplug the ACI
adapter and remove the battery
immediately, taking care to avoid
burns. C}ontinued operation could
result in injury. After removing or
disconnecting the power source, take
the equipment to a Nikomauthorized
service representative for inspection.
Do not disassemble
Touching tile internal parts of the
camera or A( adapter could result in
injury. Repairs should be performed
only by qualified technicians. Should

Battery EN-EL10 (supplied).
Charge the battery inserted into the
camera by connecting the Charging

• When inserting the battery, do not
attempt to insert it upside down or
backwards.
• Do not short or disassemble the
battery or attempt to remove or
break the battery insulation or
casing.
• Do not expose the battery to flame
or to excessive heat.
• Do not immerse in or expose to
water.
• Return the battery to the battery
case for transportation. Do not
transport or store with metal objects
such as necklaces or hairpins.
• The battery is prone to leakage
when fully discharged. To avoid
damage to the product, be sure to
remove the battery when no char9 e

• Discontinue use immediately should
you notice any change in the
battery, such as discoloration or
deformation.
• If liquid from the damaged battery
comes in contact with clothing or
skin, rinse immediately with plenty

Disposing of Data Storage Devices
Please note that deleting images or _rmatting data storage devices such as memory cards or built
in camera memory does not completely erase the original image data. Deleted files can sometimes

Shutter-Release Button
Tile camera features a two-stage shutter-release button. To set focus and
exposure, press tile shutter-release button halfway, stopping when you feel
resistance. Focus and exposure lock while tile shutter-release button is held in this
position. To release tile shutter and take a picture, press tile shutter-release button
tile rest of tile way down. Do not use force when pressing tile shutter-release
button, as this may result in camera shake and blurred pictures.

Dragging
Drag your finger across the touch panel and
remove it from the touch panel.
Use this operation to:
Scroll through pictures in full-frame playback mode
(_ 30)
Move the visible portion of a picture enlarged with playback zoom (_ 81)
Use sliders to adjust exposure compensation (_ 47) or other settings
When the camera is in full-fame playback mode,
drag two fingers across the touch panel to scroll /
ahead ten frames quickly.
Place two fingers on the touch panel about 1.5cm
(0.6 in.)apart, slide them about 2 cm (0.8 in.)to left or
right. Note that the desired results may not be \
achieved if your fingers are placed side by side.
Tap the touch panel to stop at the current frame.

Dragging and Dropping
Place your finger on the touch panel,
drag it to the desired location (_), and
remove it from the touch panel ((2_).
Use this operation to:
Apply the rating setting (_ 97)
Spreading/pinching
Spread two fingers apart/pinch two
fingers together
Use this operation to:
Zoom in/out on a picture (_ 81) in playback
mode
Switch to thumbnail playback mode from full-
frame playback mode (_ 79)

•This camera utilizes a static touch panel. Therefore, it may not respond when touched with
fingernails or gloved fingers.
• Do not press on the touch panel with pointed objects,
• Do not apply unnecessary pressure to the touch panel.
• The touch panel may not respond to touch if a commercially available protecting film is applied,

• The camera may not respond if the followings are made,
Bounce your finger off the display
Drag your finger over too short a distance
Stroke the display too lightly
Move your finger too quickly
Change the distance between your fingers while you drag two fingers or drag them too far
Both fingers are not moved simultaneously when spreading or pinching
