NAME PLATE
The Model Number and Serial Number of your machine are shown on the
Nameplate on the bottom of the machine. This information is needed when
ordering repair parts for the machine. Use the space below to note the Model
Number and Serial Number of your machine for future reference.

UNCRATE THE MACHINE
When the machine is delivered, carefully inspect the shipping carton and the
machine for damage. If damage is evident, save the shipping carton so that it
can be inspected. Contact the Nilfisk-Advance Customer Service Department
immediatelytofileafreightdamageclaim(phonenumberisprovidedontheback
cover of this manual).

PREPARING THE FLOOR
Before each use of this machine, the floor must be clean and completely dry.
Cleanthefloorwithanautomaticfloorscrubberoradampmop,usingasolution
of water and neutral cleaner.
CAUTION!
Thismachine should be used onlyonfloorsthatare coated with
a floor finish suitable for burnishing. Contact your local Nilfisk-
Advance Distributor for further information on floor finishing
products.

Thismachinecontainsmovingparts.Toreducetheriskofinjury,
always unplug the power cord before servicing.
B - INSTALLING THE PAD
Toinstallapad,tipthemachinebackonit’shandle.RemovethePadRetainer
“A”(inthecenterofthepadholder)byturningcounter-clockwisetoloosen. Put
thepropersizePad“B”onthePadHolderHub“C”. Re-installthePadRetainer
“A” by turning clockwise to tighten.
OPERATION
1Unwrap the Power Cord (5) and plug it in to an outlet.
2Unlatch the Operator Handle (6) by pushing forward on the Handle
ReleaseLatch(4)withyourfoot. Continuetoholdlatch(4)whilepulling
the handle (6) back. It is normal for the base of the machine to lift off
of the floor slightly when the handle is lowered. It will pull itself down
against the floor as soon as the motor is started.
3Hold one of the Operator Hand Grips (1) firmly, push the Safety Lock
Button(2)andthencompresstheSwitchLevers(3)tostart themotor.
NOTE: TheSafetyLockButton(2)willnotdepressunlesstheOperator
Handle (6) has been released and tilted back into the operating
position.When thedualcontrolledSwitchLevers(3) arereleased,the
machine shuts off immediately.
4Push the machine forward in a straight line, at a slow walking speed.
Overlap each pass about 1-3 inches (25-75 mm).
5Whenusing a polishingpad, checkevery 15minutes to seeif thepad
is loaded up with wax and dirt. If it is, turn the pad over to expose the
clean side, or install a clean pad.
