Thank you for choosng and purchasng our Nokta Ultra Scanner.
Nokta Ultra Scanner s a hand-held metal detector desgned to fnd all
knds of ferrous and non-ferrous metals carred on a person or nsde a
non-metal object.
For Consumers within the European Union: Do not dispose of this
equipment in general household waste. The crossed wheeled bin
symbol on this equipment indicates this unit should not be
disposed of in general household waste, but recycled in compliance
with local government regulations and environmental
requirements.
WARNINGS and REMINDERS
► Do not expose the devce to very hot or cold condtons for extended
perods of tme.
► Do not mmerse the devce n water; do not expose t to extreme humd
condtons.

► Audo alert consumes less battery power than vbraton alert. Usng the
audo alert when possble wll extend battery lfe.

COMPONENTS
Battery
To open the battery compartment, place your thumb on the recess, press down
and slde forward.
Insert the suppled 9V battery payng attenton to the plus (+) and mnus (-) poles.
If the battery s nserted n the wrong drecton, the battery cover wll not close.
Low Battery Life Alert
When the battery s low, the yellow LED wll blnk contnuously and the devce wll provde
a warnng audo every 5 mnutes. The devce wll contnue workng untl the battery des.
When the battery s depleted further, the devce wll emt a contnuous warnng audo and
the green LED wll blnk. As the devce wll no longer detect metals, the battery should be
recharged or replaced.
Turning On the Device
Before turnng on the devce, hold the devce away from metallc objects
ncludng your watch and jewelry. Turn on the devce by sldng the swtch to
ether audo or vbraton alert.
When the devce s turned on a long beep wll be heard and the green LED wll
llumnate. On ntal start up, the red LEDs wll lght up ndcatng battery lfe
status and then go o. Durng use, the red LEDs wll ndcate the sgnal and
senstvty level.
Volume Control (Th�s feature �s not present �n the Bas�c model)
The devce has 2 levels of volume. For hgher
volume, press and hold button 1 and press button
3 at the same tme. For lower volume, press and
hold button 1 and press button 2 at the same tme.
The volume control does aect the earphone audo.
Earphone/Charger Jack (Th�s feature �s not present �n the Bas�c model)
For a slent operaton or to use the devce more convenently n nosy
envronments, nsert the optonal earphone jack here.
Important: The optonal earphone s ''MONO''. Usng ''STEREO'' earphones may
harm the devce.
You can charge the rechargeable 9V battery on the devce by nsertng the
charger plug nto the Earphone/Charger jack. When chargng starts, the Low
Battery LED (yellow) wll lght up. As the battery starts fllng up, the
Sgnal/Battery Level LEDs wll start lghtng n order and when the chargng s
complete they wll all start blnkng ndcatng full charge.
Important: Tryng to charge regular, non-rechargeable batteres may harm your
devce.

Audio or Vibration Alert
The devce operates on the prncple of moton. The devce wll not produce a
sgnal when held stll over a metal. You must move the devce over the metal n
order for the devce to detect t. When the devce detects metal, t wll produce
an audo or vbraton alert accordng to your mode selecton. The rate of the
pulsng audo or vbratons wll ncrease as the devce gets closer to the metallc
object and t wll decrease as the devce s moved away. When the devce s n
audo mode the red LEDs wll also llumnate accordng to the sgnal strength
provdng vsual warnng as well.
Sensitivity and Signal Level Indicator
The red LEDs ndcate the devce's senstvty level (except for the Basc model) as
well as the sgnal level when metal s detected n audo mode. You can adjust the
senstvty based on surroundng condtons and your preference usng the up
and down arrow keys. At maxmum senstvty, all red LEDs wll lght up and at
mnmum only a sngle LED wll llumnate.
As mentoned above, when metal s detected n audo mode the red LEDs wll
provde vsual warnng by lghtng up accordng to the strength of the sgnal
receved from the metal.
Interference Elimination Button (Th�s feature �s not present �n the Bas�c model)
The devce s set for maxmum senstvty for the smallest objects.Ths may cause
the devce to produce sgnals when held close to a oor wth metal constructon.
You may enable the devce not to respond to metals under the oor by pressng
and holdng ths button. When released, the devce wll go back to ts prevous
senstvty level.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Internal Sensitivity Setting
Some applcatons may requre derent senstvty settng from the factory
settng. An nternal senstvty settng has been placed under the rubber handle
cover. You can access ths settng by pullng back the rubber and adjust the
senstvty by a screwdrver usng a test object of your choce. The senstvty wll
ncrease as you turn the settng clockwse and t wll decrease when turned
counterclockwse.
NOKTA DETECTORS
Please keep n mnd that when the senstvty s ncreased the devce may get
aected by the surroundng metals and receve nose. Be sure to check that the
senstvty s at the desred level by testng t wth approprate targets each tme
the nternal senstvty settng s changed. It s recommended that only
techncans should change ths settng.
Turning Off the Device
Turn o the devce by sldng the swtch to the o poston n the mddle.
Always keep the devce o when not n use.
Belt Holster
When you are not usng the Ultra Scanner, you can put t n the holster and
attach t to your belt.
Safety Notice
Research evdence ndcates that use of hand-held metal detectors have no
adverse aect on pregnances or pacemakers. However, t s strongly
recommended that for use on other personal medcal electronc devces, the
advce from the manufacturer or physcans should be followed.

WARRANTY
Nokta Detectors warrants to the end-user customer that ths product wll be free from
defects n materal and workmanshp for a perod of 2 years from the date of purchase
(excludng the accessores). Nokta Detectors' lmted warranty covers only those defects that
arse as a result of normal use of the product n accordance wth Nokta Detectors' prnted
nstructons and does not cover any other problems, ncludng those that arse as a result of
accdent, msuse, neglgent act or mproper mantenance. The customer must return any
defectve devce to Nokta Detectors or to one of ts authorzed dealers wth freght prepad. If
Nokta Detectors receves, durng the applcable warranty perod, notce of a defect whch s
covered by Nokta Detectors' warranty, Nokta Detectors shall ether repar or replace the
product, at ts sole dscreton.
