Thank you for choosng and purchasng our Nokta Ultra Scanner.
Nokta Ultra Scanner s a hand-held metal detector desgned to fnd all
knds of ferrous and non-ferrous metals carred on a person or nsde a
non-metal object.
For Consumers within the European Union: Do not dispose of this
equipment in general household waste. The crossed wheeled bin
symbol on this equipment indicates this unit should not be
disposed of in general household waste, but recycled in compliance
with local government regulations and environmental
requirements.
WARNINGS and REMINDERS
► Do not expose the devce to very hot or cold condtons for extended
perods of tme.
► Do not mmerse the devce n water; do not expose t to extreme humd
condtons.

► Audo alert consumes less battery power than vbraton alert. Usng the

COMPONENTS

Battery
To open the battery compartment, place your thumb on the recess, press down
and slde forward.
Insert the suppled 9V battery payng attenton to the plus (+) and mnus (-) poles.
If the battery s nserted n the wrong drecton, the battery cover wll not close.
Low Battery Life Alert
When the battery s low, the yellow LED wll blnk contnuously and the devce wll provde
a warnng audo every 5 mnutes. The devce wll contnue workng untl the battery des.
When the battery s depleted further, the devce wll emt a contnuous warnng audo and
the green LED wll blnk. As the devce wll no longer detect metals, the battery should be
recharged or replaced.
Turning On the Device
Before turnng on the devce, hold the devce away from metallc objects
ncludng your watch and jewelry. Turn on the devce by sldng the swtch to
ether audo or vbraton alert.
When the devce s turned on a long beep wll be heard and the green LED wll
llumnate. On ntal start up, the red LEDs wll lght up ndcatng battery lfe
status and then go o. Durng use, the red LEDs wll ndcate the sgnal and
senstvty level.
Volume Control (Th�s feature �s not present �n the Bas�c model)
The devce has 2 levels of volume. For hgher
volume, press and hold button 1 and press button
3 at the same tme. For lower volume, press and
hold button 1 and press button 2 at the same tme.
The volume control does aect the earphone audo.
Earphone/Charger Jack (Th�s feature �s not present �n the Bas�c model)
For a slent operaton or to use the devce more convenently n nosy
envronments, nsert the optonal earphone jack here.
Important: The optonal earphone s ''MONO''. Usng ''STEREO'' earphones may
harm the devce.
You can charge the rechargeable 9V battery on the devce by nsertng the
charger plug nto the Earphone/Charger jack. When chargng starts, the Low
Battery LED (yellow) wll lght up. As the battery starts fllng up, the
Sgnal/Battery Level LEDs wll start lghtng n order and when the chargng s
complete they wll all start blnkng ndcatng full charge.
Important: Tryng to charge regular, non-rechargeable batteres may harm your
devce.

Audio or Vibration Alert
The devce operates on the prncple of moton. The devce wll not produce a
sgnal when held stll over a metal. You must move the devce over the metal n
order for the devce to detect t. When the devce detects metal, t wll produce
an audo or vbraton alert accordng to your mode selecton. The rate of the
pulsng audo or vbratons wll ncrease as the devce gets closer to the metallc
object and t wll decrease as the devce s moved away. When the devce s n
audo mode the red LEDs wll also llumnate accordng to the sgnal strength
provdng vsual warnng as well.
Sensitivity and Signal Level Indicator
The red LEDs ndcate the devce's senstvty level (except for the Basc model) as
well as the sgnal level when metal s detected n audo mode. You can adjust the
senstvty based on surroundng condtons and your preference usng the up
and down arrow keys. At maxmum senstvty, all red LEDs wll lght up and at
mnmum only a sngle LED wll llumnate.
As mentoned above, when metal s detected n audo mode the red LEDs wll
provde vsual warnng by lghtng up accordng to the strength of the sgnal
receved from the metal.
Interference Elimination Button (Th�s feature �s not present �n the Bas�c model)
The devce s set for maxmum senstvty for the smallest objects.Ths may cause
the devce to produce sgnals when held close to a oor wth metal constructon.
You may enable the devce not to respond to metals under the oor by pressng
and holdng ths button. When released, the devce wll go back to ts prevous
senstvty level.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Internal Sensitivity Setting
Some applcatons may requre derent senstvty settng from the factory
settng. An nternal senstvty settng has been placed under the rubber handle
cover. You can access ths settng by pullng back the rubber and adjust the
senstvty by a screwdrver usng a test object of your choce. The senstvty wll
ncrease as you turn the settng clockwse and t wll decrease when turned
counterclockwse.

Please keep n mnd that when the senstvty s ncreased the devce may get
aected by the surroundng metals and receve nose. Be sure to check that the
senstvty s at the desred level by testng t wth approprate targets each tme
the nternal senstvty settng s changed. It s recommended that only
techncans should change ths settng.
Turning Off the Device
Turn o the devce by sldng the swtch to the o poston n the mddle.
Always keep the devce o when not n use.
Belt Holster
When you are not usng the Ultra Scanner, you can put t n the holster and
attach t to your belt.
Safety Notice
Research evdence ndcates that use of hand-held metal detectors have no
adverse aect on pregnances or pacemakers. However, t s strongly
recommended that for use on other personal medcal electronc devces, the
advce from the manufacturer or physcans should be followed.

WARRANTY
Nokta Detectors warrants to the end-user customer that ths product wll be free from
defects n materal and workmanshp for a perod of 2 years from the date of purchase
(excludng the accessores). Nokta Detectors' lmted warranty covers only those defects that
arse as a result of normal use of the product n accordance wth Nokta Detectors' prnted
nstructons and does not cover any other problems, ncludng those that arse as a result of
accdent, msuse, neglgent act or mproper mantenance. The customer must return any
defectve devce to Nokta Detectors or to one of ts authorzed dealers wth freght prepad. If
Nokta Detectors receves, durng the applcable warranty perod, notce of a defect whch s
covered by Nokta Detectors' warranty, Nokta Detectors shall ether repar or replace the
product, at ts sole dscreton.
