Clixbeetle-Pro (CXBT-PRO) and Clixbeetle-GT (CXBT-GT)
Installation Instructions
Make sure the TH8A/RS Shifter is disconnected/unplugged when installing the
Clixbeetle
1. Unscrew (turn counter clockwise) & remove the gearstick knob
2. Remove the 4 screws holding the metal gated plate

3. Remove 2 screws holding the black plastic gated plate
Take note of the orientation of the plate for when you put it back. The switch goes to
the front
4. Carefully lift the plastic plate with the cloth as shown below, taking care not to pull on the
black cable
The black cable connects to the little switch on the black plastic plate. It is used
for when you configure the shifter in Sequential Mode.

NOTE: The black sequential cable may be shorter on your shifter and you may not be
able to pull the cloth ring over the gearstick as shown on previous page. If this is the case,
then you would have to snip/cut the cable tie first, then pull the cloth ring over the
gearstick.
Be very careful not to cut/snip the black cable.

5. Once you cut and remove the cable tie, and you have the plastic plate to the side, you’re
ready to install the Clixbeetle
6. Put some grease (e.g. General Purpose Lithium Grease, White Lithium Grease, Silicone
Grease, Moly/Molybdenum Disulphide Grease –In the photos I’m using Moly Grease) on the
front and back of the Clixbeetle as shown below:

7. Slide the Clixbeetle down through the center on the gearstick with the orientation as shown
below:

Make sure the Clixbeetle is pushed all the way down until it touches/sits firmly on the bottom metal
pivot shaft
WARNING: The Clixbeetle-Pro (CXBT-PRO) has already been calibrated for optimal tactile
feedback (screws are glued and not adjustable). Only the Clixbeetle-GT (CXBT-GT) has adjustable
spring pressure screws (use the Clixbeetle-GT Ball Bearing Spring Pressure Adjustment
instructions). To avoid damaging the system:
Do not tighten the grub screws
Do not remove the grub screws

8. Slide the gearstick forward and back, so you can put some grease on the steel ball bearings
as shown
Wipe off excess grease and clean the top of the Clixbeetle and also clean the gearstick so
you can insert the ratchet clip as shown on the next page.

9. Slide the ratchet clip down the gear-stick and make sure it is sitting/touching the top of the
Clixbeetle-Pro. Tighten the ratchet clip with a pair of pliers as tight as possible (until the
teeth can no longer engage) to prevent the Clixbeetle from sliding up.
10. That’s it! You can now put the covers/plates back on (reverse order of taking apart –make
sure you don’t have any screws left over when you finish )

NOTE: Do not put a cable tie back on the black sequential switch cable, just make sure
it is out of the way when putting the gated plates/covers back on, so that the gearstick can
slide unobstructed when pushed sideways.
