Before using, please:
Read this manual completely for operation instructions.
Completely fill out the warranty registration card (included separately) and
mail the detachable portion to Noritz America Corporation.
Keep this manual (and the remainder of the warranty registration card) where it
can be found whenever necessary.
Installation must conform with local codes, or in the absence of local codes,
the National Fuel Gas Code, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54 or CAN/CSA B149.1.
Noritz America reserves the right to discontinue, or change at any time, the
designs and/or specifications of its products without notice.

This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential personal injury hazards.
Obey all safety messages that follow this symbol to avoid possible injury or death.
Vapors from flammable liquids will explode and catch fire causing death or severe burns.

adhesives in the same room or area near the boiler.

When the boiler is used as the heat source for an indirect
storage tank, the temperature of the water will be 140°F -
180°F (60°C - 83°C). Install an anti-scald mixing valve on the
hot water supply side of the indirect tank to prevent scalding.

may contain such substances, be their
origin from fuel combustion (gas, oil) or
components of the product itself.

When the power plug is inserted, the unit
automatically operates the circulation pump
for several seconds when the unit has not
been used for approximately 15 days to
prevent the circulation pump from malfunc-
tioning due to build-up of lime deposits.

specified anti-freeze once every
2 years or as required by the
anti-freeze manufacturer.
•Not replacing the boiler water will cause
rusting and freezing, resulting in damage to
the device and radiator. Repairs resulting from
deterioration of the anti-freeze are not covered
by the warranty.
•For replacement of the boiler water, contact
the installer or a qualified service technician.
Costs for the replacement of the anti-freeze
are not covered by the warranty.

aquastat on the indirect storage tank.
Setting the temperature of PRIORITY 1 below the temperature setting of the aquastat will cause PRIORITY 2 to

Preventing Damage from Freezing
CAUTION
Do not remove the power plug
Freezing cannot be prevented when the power plug is disconnected. Also, take measures
to protect exposed piping by using insulation, heat tape, or electric heaters. When in doubt,
contact your installer.
Perform the following to prevent freezing
The unit will automatically operate (combust) to warm the water within the circuit to prevent
freezing.
Note: Freezing of water within the circuit may not be prevented depending on the heating
system. For details, contact your installer.
Perform the following when not using the boiler for an extensive period
Check the label on the front cover of the device to see if anti-freeze has
been added, then perform the measures indicated below as needed.

Regular Maintenance-1
Periodic Inspection
CAUTION
To prevent burns or scalding, turn off the power button and wait until the
equipment cools before performing maintenance.
Be sure to do.
Recommended periodic inspection
For prevention of unforeseeable accidents and for the longer service life of this product, periodic
inspection by a specialist is recommended once a year even if there are no problems with the
operation of this unit. For inspection, contact your installer or a qualified service technician.
Safety Relief Valve
Inspect the expansion tank once a year for proper air pressure within the tank.
Follow the instructions of the expansion tank manufacturer.
For inspection, contact your installer or a qualified service technician.

Periodic Maintenance
Regular Maintenance-2
Do not use benzene, oil or fatty detergents to clean the operation panel;
deformation may occur.
Operation panel
Wipe the surface with a wet cloth.
Check the anti-freeze at least once per year for proper product concentration and pH level.
Replace the anti-freeze once every 2 years or as required by the anti-freeze manufacturer with
blends specified by Noritz.
Not replacing the anti-freeze will cause rusting and freezing, resulting in damage to the device
and radiator.
For inspection or replacement of the anti-freeze, contact the installer or a qualified service
technician.
Repairs resulting from deterioration of the anti-freeze are not covered by the warranty.
When Using Anti-Freeze
Wipe the outside surface with a wet cloth, then dry the surface.
Use a neutral detergent to clean any stains.
Equipment
Water Drain Valve (with Water Filter)
If the water drain valve (with water filter) is covered with debris, the hot water may not run smoothly,
or the unit may put out cold water. Check and clean the water drain valve.
For cleaning the water drain valve, contact your installer or a qualified service technician.

Troubleshooting-1
Initial Operation
Unit attempts to ignite but fails.
Temperature
Hot water is not available
when a fixture is opened.
•Is the gas valve, return valve and supply valve fully open?
• Is the gas being cut off by the gas meter?
(Can other gas devices such as stoves be used?)
•(For LP) Is there enough gas in the tank?
(Can other gas devices such as stoves be used?)
•Is the water drain valve filter clogged with debris? ( p.18)
•Is the pressure gauge reading normal? ( p.17)
•Is the power button turned on?
• The hot water of the indirect tank may have been fully used.
Wait for several minutes until the water in the tank becomes hot.
• See the operation manual of the indirect tank or heating system.
• Can the sound of the pump be heard? If not, there may be
a malfunction. Contact your installer or a qualified service
technician.
Setting temperature cannot rise. •Is the maximum temperature setting of PRIORITY 1
appropriate. ( p.14)
• Perform operation again after setting the Power On/Off button to
Off and then back to On. There may be air in the gas line.
• Have a professional check the gas supply pressure.
Operation Panel
The light on the power button
does not come on.
• Has there been a power failure?
•Is the power connected properly?
The panel cannot be used. •There is a possibility that the unit has malfunctioned.
Contact your installer or a qualified service technician.
Combustion indicator is lit even
when the Power button is set to Off.

•The pump automatically operates for combustion to
prevent freezing.
The plastic on the surface or buttons
of the remote controller has torn,
peeled, or air bubbles inside.
•The surface of the remote controller is affixed with a
protective sheet (to prevent surface scratching, etc.) at
time of shipment. This sheet can be removed or left as it
is. When leaving the protective sheet on, areas frequently
touched may tear or peel. However, the remote controller
will not malfunction from water entering such torn or
peeled areas. To restore the appearance of the remote
controller surface, simply remove the protective sheet.

Heating
The room does not get warm.
The heating does not operate.
•Is the gas valve, return valve and supply valve fully open?
• Is the gas being cut off by the gas meter?
(Can other gas devices such as stoves be used?)
•(For LP) Is there enough gas in the tank?

•Is the heating switch of a room thermostat turned on?
•Has PRIORITY 1 been running for an extensive period?
In this case, the set temperature of the aquastat
controlling the indirect tank may be higher than the set
temperature of this unit. Contact your installer.
• Can the sound of the pump be heard? If not, there may be a
malfunction. Contact your installer or a qualified service technician.
The fan can be heard after
operation is stopped. •These noises indicate the proper operation of devices
which are designed to let the unit reignite more quickly,
and ensure temperature of the boiler water is stable.
Sounds
The heating turns off by itself during
heating and there is no warm air. • PRIORITY 2 (Heating use) will stop even during operation
when PRIORITY 1 (Indirect tank use) operation starts.

(low humming sound.) •The sound is from the pump operating to prevent freezing.
•The unit automatically operates the pump for several
seconds when the unit has not been used for
