Safety Notice
Always use tools as designed, wear eye protection and no loose clothing. Children should
always have adult supervision when using power tools. Be careful with cut edges of
plastic, they can be very sharp and cut you. When assembled you will have moving parts.
Use caution when operating, as moving parts can tangle in clothing or hair. Since
Norland Research does not control the final product, the builder will assume the safety
considerations and responsibility of the final product.
Assembly time:
Allow 30 minutes to install the S.A.M. body. Skills and techniques used in model
building are useful. Care in measurements and finishing cut edges will help make S.A.M.
a better model. Be sure to read all instructions before starting. Email us if you have any
questions before starting.

You will need to provide a Boe-Bot from Parallax Inc.*
Step 1
Before beginning, file or sandpaper all cut edges smooth and straight. The cutting process
from the manufacturer leaves the edge rough, uneven, and sometimes sharp. Also clean
all areas to have Velcro installed with rubbing alcohol first.
Step 2
Install the 4 standoffs in the Boe-Bot chassis top slots as shown in figure 1 using the
supplied 4-40 nuts. Now install the 4 Velcro buttons with the supplied ¼inch screws as
shown in figure 1.
