3.When drillingmetals, mark thepoint to bedrilled using acentre punch toassist in
starting the holein the correctplace.
4.To prevent damageto drills, applysome coolant tothe bit, butdo not wetthe tool itself.
5.When drillingwood, plastic, hardrubber or castiron no lubricantis needed. Uselight
mineral oil forbrass or bronze,kerosene for aluminum.For steel andother metals use
soluble oil.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING!Always disconnect theair supply beforeattempting any maintenance.
After disconnecting theair supply, squeeze thetrigger to makesure no airremains in the
unit.
1.After eachuse, wipe downthe drill witha lint-free cloth.Do not usesolvents or harsh
detergents to cleanthe tool.
2.Make surethe air inletis clean ofdirt, grease, ordebris.
WARNING!If you encountera problem withoperation, stop usingthe tool
immediately.Disconnect tool fromair supply beforeattempting any adjustment.

Some dust createdby power sanding,sawing, grinding andother construction
activities contains chemicalsknown to causecancer, birthdefects, or other
reproductive harm. Someexamples off thesechemicals are:
Lead from lead-basedpaints Crystalline silicaform bricks, cementand other
masonry productsArsenic and chromiumfrom chemically treatedlumber
Yourrisk from theseexposures varies, dependingnow how oftenyou do thistype of
work. To reduce yourexposure to thesechemicals: work ina well-ventilated area,
and use approvedpersonal protective equipment,such as dustmasks that are
specially designed tofilter out microscopicparticles.
WARNINGSAND SAFETYRULES
1.Keep workarea clean.An untidy andcluttered work areaincreases the riskof
accidents.
2.Use personalprotection equipment.Always use safetyglasses or goggles.A
facemask should alsobe worn whendust is generated.Arespirator should beworn when
spray painting, evenwhen using outdoors.
3.Wearsuitable work clothes.Don't wear loosefitting clothes orjewelry.They canbe
caught in movingparts and maycause injury. For outdoorwork rubber glovesand non-
slip footwear areadvised. Weara protective hairnet to containlong hair.
4.Take precautions withcompressed air.Do not disconnectair hoses ortools when the
line is underpressure. Close off air supplyand release pressurefirst. Do notpoint tools or
direct compressed airat people oranimals.
5.Observe workarea environment.Do not exposeair tools torain or wetconditions. Do
not use airtools in closeproximity to flammableliquids or gases.The workarea should be
well lit andventilated.

SET UP
NOTE: If youare not usingan automatic oilersystem, before operation,add a few
drops of PneumaticToolOil to theairline connection.Add a fewdrops more after
hour of continualuse.
1.You will needto prepare a1/4" air connector(not included) toconnect to theair inlet on
the cutofftool. First, wrapthe 1/4" airconnector with pipethread seal tape(not included)
before threading itinto the inlet.Connect the 3/8"ID air sourcehose (not included)to a
quick-disconnect coupler (notincluded) and thento the cutoff tool.
2.Set theair pressure onyour compressor to90 PSI. Donot exceed therecommended air
pressure of 90PSI.
3.Check theair connection forleaks.
4.Disconnect fromthe air hoseuntil next instructedto reconnect.
OPERATINGCONTROLS
CHUCK
When mounting adrill bit inthe chuck, insertbit so thatthe full shankof the bitis held in
the chuck.Tighten thechuck securely byinserting the chuckkey into oneof the sideholes
in the chuckand turning thekey clockwise. Beforeattempting to drill,check that thebit is
held centrally inthe chuck jawsand ensure thechuck key isremoved. To release the
chuck, insert thekey and turnit counterclockwise.
FORWARD/REVERSESELECTOR
Push the selectorto the "F"position to selectnormal clockwise rotation.Always drillin
this direction. Pushthe selector tothe "R" positionto select counterclockwiserotation. Do
not change directionwhile drill isin motion.
TRIGGER
Depressing the triggerwill allow thedrill to rapidlybegin rotation inthe selected direction.
Release to stop.
TO USE
1. Run compressor, adjust compressorregulator for correctoperating range of6090 PSI.
2. Open outlettap of compressorto connection ofdrill.
3. Select directionof rotation andpress trigger tooperate.
4. When changingbits, shut off air supplyto tool andrelease pressure first,to avoid
inadvertent operation.
OPERATIONALHINTS
1.Always ensurethat the workpieceis firmly clamped,so that youcan use 2hands to
guide and controlthe drill.
2.When drillingwood, to preventsplintering on thereverse face whenthe drill breaks
through, clamp ascrap piece ofwood beneath thepoint where youare drilling.

6.Keep pets,untrained operators andchildren away. Children should bekept away
from the workarea. Do notpermit them tohandle the toolor tool cable.
7.Secure thework pieces.Use clamps ora vice tohold work.This will freeup both hands
to operate thetool, which issafer.
8.Don't overreachwhen working.Keep a balancedfooting at alltimes. Avoid abnormal
stances and awkwardbody positioning.
9.Do notoverload or forcetools.Toolsoperate better inthe specified performance
ranges. Forcing thetool may causemotor damage.
10.Check for damage. Before further usealways check theprotection guards carefullyto
ensure proper operationand performance. Checkfor alignment ofmoving parts, binding
of moving parts,breakage of parts,mountings and anyother condition thatmay effectthe
tools operation. Ifthe tool suffers severe impact,a crack ordamage may occur do not use
a tool ifa crack developsor if airis escaping.
11.Recommendeduse Use theright tool.Only use airtools for theirintended purpose.
Do not forcea small toolor accessory todo the jobof a heavy-dutytool. Do notexceed
recommended air pressure.
12.When changingtools or accessories.Always closeoff airsupply and release
pressure before attemptingto loosen anyconnection.
13.Beware oftemperature extremes.The expanding aircauses the airtools to runvery
cold. Light glovesare advisable foroperator comfort. Conversely, the cylinderhead and
air delivery pipeof the compressortank will runquite hot, avoidcontact with these.
14.Maintain toolswith care.For efficientand safe operationtools should bekept clean.
Check the connectionsand hoses. Ifdamaged they shouldbe replaced.
15.Avoidunintentional triggering.Do not carrytool or connectthem with yourfinger on
the trigger.
16.Don't abuse hoses. Do not carrytools by thehose or usethe hose todrag the
compressor. Protecthoses from heat,oil and sharpobjects. Avoid draping thehose over
the compressor cylinderhead.
17.Storage.When not inuse, your airtools should bestored in adry area, whichis not
accessible to children.
18.Stay alert.Do not usethe tool whenyou are tiredor under theinfluence of alcoholand
drugs. Use commonsense and watchwhat you aredoing or seriousinjury will occur.
19.Remove keysand spanners.Do not forgetto remove anyadjustment keys, spanners
and wrenches beforeswitching on thetool.
20.Don't leave unattended. Do not leavethe compressor operatingwhile unattended for
extended periods oftime. If youhave finished usingthe compressor andassociated tools,
switch offsupply and removethe plug.
21.Use onlycompressed air.This tool isintended for usewith compressed aironly.
Never attempt tooperate the toolusing compressed bottledoxygen or combustiblegases.
PARTICULARSAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1.Shut off air supplyand release pressurewhen changing bits.
2.Only operatethis tool withinthe recommended pressurerange 60 90PSI. Use outside
this range willcause poor performance,excessive wear andpossible danger.
3.Safety glassesmust always beworn for eyeprotection. Hearing protectionis strongly
recommended when operatingfor long periods.
