4. All actions conducted by the servicemen and users must be accomplished in accordance with the
user’s manual;
5. The device should be disconnected from power sources during maintenance procedures;
6. Usage of additional devices and components neither provided nor recommended by the producer is
forbidden;
7. You are not allowed to use the camera in high humidity environment (i.e. close to swimming pools,
bath tubs, damp basements);
8. Mounting the device in places where proper ventilation cannot be provided (e. g. closed lockers etc.)
is not recommended since it may lead to heat build-up and damaging the device itself as a
consequence;
9. Mounting the camera on unstable surface or using not recommended mounts is forbidden.
Improperly mounted camera may cause a fatal accident or may be seriously damaged itself. The
camera must be mounted by qualified personnel with proper authorization, in accordance with this
user’s manual.
10. Device should be supplied only from a power sources whose parameters are in accordance with
those specified by the producer in the camera technical datasheet. Therefore, it is forbidden to
supply the camera from a power sources with unknown parameters, unstable or not meeting
producer’s requirements;

1.4 Package contents
After you open the package make sure that the following elements are inside:
• IP camera.
• Accessories bag.
• Quick start guide.
If any of this elements has been damaged during transport, pack all the elements back into the original
box and contact your supplier.
CAUTION!
If the device was brought from a location with lower temperature, please wait until it reaches the
temperature of location it is currently in. Turning the device on immediately after bringing it
from a location with lower ambient temperature is forbidden, as the condensing water vapour
may cause short-circuits and damage the device as a result.
2.START-UP AND INITIAL CONFIGURATION
Before starting the device familiarize yourself with the description and the role of particular
inputs, outputs and adjusting elements that the device is equipped with.
2.1 Description of connectors and adjustment buttons

2.2 Connecting ethernet cable
To maintain tightness of ethernet cable connection, please follow instruction below:
1. Loose the nut (a) from the main element (b).
2. Run power cable (without RJ-45 connector) through both elements.
3. Then crimp the cable with RJ-45 connector.
4. Connect the cable to the hermetic connector (c), screw main cover (b), then screw the nut (a).
The declared degree of protection of the camera relates to its housing and does not take into account
the possibility of moisture infiltration into the camera by connection cables. Connection cables
protection through i.e. sealing up is the camera installer duty.
The manufacturer is not liable for any camera damages caused as a result of failing in performing that
activity by installer, which also means that camera damaged in that way is not subject to warranty
repairs.
CAUTION!
Camera power supply connector is not hermetic. Installer should seal this connector by himself.
2.3 Connecting power supply cable
Camera can be supplied using external power supply unit corresponding with the camera parameters or
by using RJ45 network socket and PoE power supply unit. To power the camera via PoE, use a network
switch or PoE adapter compatible with the IEEE 802.3af standard. If you’re using external power
supply please connect wires according to polarisation shown on picture below. Power supply adapter is
not included.

CAUTION!
Do not use power supplies and POE adapters not compatible with IEEE 802.3af standard!
Damage resulting from the use of improper power supply is not covered under warranty!
In order to provide protection against voltage surges/lightning strikes, usage of appropriate
surge protectors is advised. Any damages resulting from surges are not eligible for service
repairs.
2.4 Camera mounting
To mount a camera please follow the instructions below:
• Unscrew the camera cover (5) by turning counter-clockwise.
• Remove the camera housing (4).
• Put the bracket to the wall in a desired mounting place (with cable hole). Take the drill pattern
and mark future drilling holes for screws and wires.
• Drill holes in accordance with previously done markings and base hole placement.
• Mount the camera base (1) using the supplied plugs and screws.
• If necessary, mount microSD card in the socket (3), than connect the camera wires.
• Adjust camera position, if necessary, connect service monitor, adjust lens using Zoom +/-
buttons (2).
• Screw the camera housing (4) back on camera.
• Screw the camera cover (5) by turning it clockwise.

CAUTION!
Please note that the wall or ceiling must have enough strength to support the IP Camera.
CAUTION!
In order to obtain declared degree of protection please seal the camera bracket to prevent water
getting inside. Furthermore, when installing the bracket on rough/uneven surfaces, please
additionally seal the junction with appropriate sealing mass. Please pay special attention to any
mounting holes and if they are a loop-through ones, seal them too.
2.5 Starting the camera
To run the camera you have to connect ethernet cable between cameras RJ45 socket and network
switch PoE compatible with IEEE 802.3af standard. To power it up you can also connect it directly via
power supply adapter with parameters compatible with camera power supply specification.
The recommended way to start an IP camera and perform its configuration is a connection directly
to the network switch which is not connected to other devices. If camera is powered by an external
power supply, use any switch or twisted-pair cable connected directly to your computer. To obtain
further information about network configuration parameters (IP address, gateway, network mask, etc.)
please contact your network administrator.

2.6 Initial configuration via the web browser
The network configuration of the camera can be carried out using a web browser.
The default network settings for 6000 series IP cameras are :

Knowing the camera’s IP address you need to appropriately set PC IP address, so the two devices can
operate in one network subnet ( e.g. for IP 192.168.1.200, appropriate address for the camera ranges
from 192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.254, for example 192.168.1.60).
It is not allowed to set the same addresses for camera and PC computer
User can either set a network configuration (IP address, gateway, net mask, etc.) of NOVUS IP camera
yourself or select DHCP mode (DHCP server is required in this method in target network) by using
web browser or by NMS software.
When using DHCP server check IP address lease and its linking with camera MAC address to avoid
changing or losing IP address during device operation or network/DHCP server breakdown. Remember
to use a new camera IP address after changing network parameters.
After network setting configuration has been done, the camera can be connected to a target network.
2.7 Security recommendations for network architecture and configuration
CAUTION!
Below are shown security recommendations for network architecture and configuration of
CCTV systems that are connected to the Internet to reduce the risk of unauthorized interference
with the system by a third party.
1. Absolutely change the default passwords and user names (if the device gives this possibility) of
all applied network devices (recorders, cameras, routers, network switches, etc.) to the
severely complexity password. Use lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters
if there is such possibility.
2. Depending on the available functionality in the order to restrict access to the used network devices at
the administrator account level, it is recommended to configure the users accounts accordingly.
3. Do not use DMZ function (Demilitarized zone) in your router. Using that function you open the
access to recorder system from the Internet on all ports, which gives possibility for an unauthorized
interference with the system.
Instead of DMZ use port forwarding redirect only the ports which are necessary for the performance
of the connection (detailed information about ports of communication in different models of recorders,
cameras, etc. can be found in the operating instructions).
4. Use routers with firewall function and make sure it is enabled and properly configured.
5. It is recommended to change the default network communication port numbers of used devices
if there is such possibility.
6. If used network devices has aUPnP feature and it is not used, turn it off.
7. If used network devices has aP2P feature and it is not used, turn it off.

8. If used network devices support HTTPS protocol for connection, it is recommended to use it.
9. If used network devices support IP filtering for authorized connections function, it is recommended
to use it.
10. If used recorder has two network interfaces it is recommended to use both of them to physically
separate network for cameras and network for Internet connection. The only device in the system,
accessible from Internet will be recorder - there will be no physically access directly to any camera.
3. NETWORK CONNECTION UTILIZING WEB BROSWER
3.1 Recommended PC specification for web browser
Requirements below apply to connection with an IP camera, assuming smooth image display
in 1920x1080 resolution and 30 fps speed.
1. CPU Intel Core i3 3 GHz or better
2. RAM Memory min. 4 GB
3. Graphic card NVIDIA GeForce 512 MB or equivalent
4. OS Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10
5. Network card 100/1000 Mb/s
3.2 Network connection to the camera using Internet Explorer
• Connecting to the camera for the first time
Enter the IP address of the camera in the address bar of the web browser. If the given address is correct
and the target device is currently available, the first connection window will be displayed.

In the Stream type field, user can select the resolution and number of frames for the main stream
(which is displayed by default in the live view window), and Language field allows to change the
interface language. If select the Remember me option, the entered data automatically fills in the next
log on time.
After entering the appropriate data, click the Login button to log in to the web panel of the camera.
Default user is root and default password is pass. The camera asks to change the default password
during the first login (recommended). To do this, check the Modify password option and then enter and
confirm a new password. In order to log into the camera without changing a password, click the OK
button. The message will be displayed each time you log in, until you change your password, or select
the Do not show again option.

If the browser has not connected to any of the 6000 series cameras so far, or if an older version of the
plug-in is installed, the remote viewing window displays message that the appropriate plug-in version
must be installed.
Click Here link to start plug-in installation. The browser displays a window asking you to decide how
to proceed with the "NetAIIPCamera.exe" file - click the Run button to start the plug-in installer.
In the installer window, select the installation language (English by default), and then click the Install
button to install the plug-in. After the installation has been completed, click the Finish button to close
the installer and refresh the browser window (you can also close and restart the browser).
If after refreshing the browser window, the same message as before still appears on the screen, go to
the browser settings (cogwheel icon in the top right corner) and then Manage add-ons.
In the Add-ons Management window, right-click NetAIIPCamera Control, then Enable and refresh
the browser window.
After you have successfully completed all the above steps, you should see the camera preview in the
live view window.

5.2 Memory card installation
Camera supports Micro SD cards up to a maximum size of 256GB. In order to install the card properly,
please follow the instructions below:
• Turn off the camera.
• Unscrew the camera cover (3) by turning counter-clockwise.
• Remove the camera housing (2).
• Mount microSD card in the socket (1) and turn on the camera.
• Screw the camera housing (2) back on camera
• Screw the camera cover (3) by turning it clockwise
• Check the SD card by checking capacity in the System > SD Card tab.
5.3 Connecting audio to the camera
Line in of camera allow to connect external Microphone (with own power supply).

6. RESTORING FACTORY DEFAULTS
Novus IP cameras allows to restore defaults via:
• software (via www panel)
• software (via NMS ip tool)
• hardware (using reset button)
6.1 Restoring factory settings using the www panel
Resetting the camera to factory settings returns the camera settings to the factory default values. The
restore factory option can be found in the tab Config > Maintenance > Backup and Restore >
Default settings. Checking the Keep option selected allows keeps the network settings, security
configuration or image configuration unchanged. Pressing the Load default button and confirming it
with a password, restores the factory settings.
6.2 Restoring factory settings using “NMS IP tool” application
Using NMS IP tool (version 3.2 or higher) the user can restore factory settings. This is done by
selecting the camera and clicking on the icon . Then, after 30 seconds from selecting an option,
disconnect the power from the camera and reconnect it. After reboot the camera restores factory
settings.
