9. Mounting the camera on unstable surface or using not recommended mounts is forbidden. Improperly
mounted camera may cause a fatal accident or may be seriously damaged itself. The camera must be mounted
by qualified personnel with proper authorization, in accordance with this user’s manual.
10. Device should be supplied only from a power sources whose parameters are in accordance with those
specified by the producer in the camera technical datasheet. Therefore, it is forbidden to supply the camera
from a power sources with unknown parameters, unstable or not meeting producer’s requirements;

If any of the items above have been damaged during transport, please pack all the elements back into
the original box and contact your supplier for further assistance.
CAUTION!
If the device was brought from a location with lower temperature, please wait until it reaches the
temperature of location it is currently in. Turning the device on immediately after bringing it
from a location with lower ambient temperature is forbidden, as the condensing water vapour
may cause short-circuits and damage the device as a result.
Before starting the device, please familiarize yourself with the description and the role of
particular inputs, outputs and adjusting elements that the device is equipped with.

2.1. Description of most important electric connectors and adjustment elements
In NVIP-TDN2401D/IR/MPX1.0 camera lens is mounted by default and only the zoom and focus
require adjustment.

2.2. NVIP-TDN2401D/IR/MPX1.0 camera mounting
Prior to installation please familiarize yourself with the product, its parameters and installation process:
 Gently remove the camera dome counter-clockwise, twisting it until 3 latches placed every 120˚
around the edge are released (distinctive unlocking “click” can be heard).
 Please remove camera base in a similar manner.
 Place guide pattern in a desired place and use to drill holes for screws and cables.
 Screw the camera base onto desired surface using included screws.
 Connect the camera network switch using Ethernet cable
 Connect power supply cable to power socket.
 Mount the camera twisting it gently clockwise onto the base. Please ensure that 3 latches match
undercuts in the base (distinctive locking “click” can be heard meaning that camera is firmly
attached to the base).
 Adjust the position of the camera module.
 Unscrew the blocking knobs and adjust focal length and focus.
 Mount camera dome twisting it gently clockwise onto the camera in similar way as mounting the
camera to its base.
2.3. Starting the IP camera
To start NOVUS IP camera you have to connect the camera to a network switch using Ethernet cable
and power it directly from the power supply.
After connecting power supply green LED should light up. Initialization process lasting about 30
seconds takes place then. Next, you can proceed to establishing a connection with the camera via a web
browser.
If the connection is successfully established green LED blinks with a frequency proportional to the
quantity of data sent. Connecting via web browser is then possible. If connection isn’t established (the
network cable is disconnected) green LEDs isn't active, solid light means that network connection is ok
but camera doesn't receive or send any data, with possible PC network settings error.

The recommended way to start an IP camera and its configuration is a connection through crossover
cable with your PC or laptop.
Network configuration of camera can be also performed using NMSiptool.exe or by the NMS software
using camera default IP address: 192.168.1.200. Finding a camera with previously unknown IP address
is also possible with using IPtool.
To get information about your network configuration parameters (not used IP address, gateway,
network mask, etc.) you have to contact your network administrator.
2.4. Parameters configuration by using web browser
The default network settings for NVIP-TDN2401D/IR/MPX1.0 IP camera:
1. IP address= 192.168.1.200
2. Network mask - 255.255.255.0
3. Gateway - 192.168.1.254
4. User name - root
5. Password - pass
Knowing the camera IP address you need to set PC IP address in such a way so that the two devices can
operate in one network subnet ( e.g. for IP address 192.168.1.1 then IP address you can set in the
camera ranges from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254, for example 192.168.1.60). It is not allowed to set
the same addresses for camera and PC computer
You can set network configuration (IP address, gateway, net mask, etc.) of NOVUS IP camera or select
DHCP mode (DHCP server is required in this method in target network) by using web browser or by
NMSiptool application. When you use DHCP server check IP address lease and its connection with
camera MAC address to avoid changing or losing IP address during device operation or network/DHCP
server breakdown. In order to connect to IP camera please remember to use a new camera IP address
after changing network parameters.
After network setting configuration has been done, the camera can be connected to a target network.

3. NETWORK CONNECTION UTILIZING WEB BROWSER
3.1. Recommended PC configuration for web browser connections
The below requirements apply to connection with an IP camera with smooth image display in
1280x800 resolution and at speed of 25 fps.
1. CPU Intel Pentium IV 3 GHz or newer
2. RAM Memory min. 1024 MB
3. VGA card (any displaying Direct 3D with min. 128 MB RAM memory)
4. OS Windows XP / VISTA / Windows 7
5. Direct X version 9.0 or newer
6. Network card 10/100/1000 Mb/s
3.2. Camera network connection utilizing Internet Explorer
You have to enter camera IP address in the Internet Explorer address bar. If IP address is correct user
login window will be displayed:
Default user is root and default password is pass.
For safety reasons, it is recommended to change default user name and password.

When you log on to the camera, web browser will download the applet for displaying images from the
camera. Depending on the current Internet Explorer security settings it may be necessary to accept
an ActiveX control. To do this, click the right mouse button on the communicate, select "Install Active
X control" and then click Install.
If the installation fails, you have to change the security setting for the IE browser. To do that you have
to choose: Tools > Internet options > Security tab > Custom level and next change:
 Download unsigned ActiveX controls - select Enable or Prompt
 Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe - select Enable or Prompt
You can also add the camera’s IP address to “trusted zone” and set lowest security level for it.
In addition, when working in Windows Vista/ Windows 7 the ActiveX applet may be blocked by
Windows Defender. In such case you should allow to run this applet, or simply disable the Windows
Defender.

3.3. Camera network connection utilizing Mozilla Firefox
It is also possible to connect to the camera by using Mozilla Firefox, but this browser doesn't offer full
functionality of the camera, so the recommended browser is Internet Explorer. The first run of the
IP camera in Firefox is very similar like in the IE. After you type the correct IP address you have to
write correct username and password. The default user is root and password is pass. Next, you will be
prompted to install the missing plug-in. You must be logged as administrator to install the plug-in
correctly. Then you have to follow the instruction below:

Right mouse button click on the live screen view allows to use the following functions:
1. Snapshot - save the current frame in JPEG format
2. Record start/record stop - run or stop video recording with sound to local disc
3. Mute - disable sound from camera (if available)
4. Full screen - switch to live view mode in full screen
After double-clicking on screen, full screen mode is also enabled.
5. Digital zoom - Launch digital zoom function
After enabling digital zoom, window for navigating digital zoom is displayed.
You have to click Enable digital zoom, next choose zoom factors and select point on the screen
to zoom. Green frame shows selected part of picture.
4.2. Camera configuration
After clicking Setup button web page switches to configuration mode. On the left hand side you can see
a list of camera parameters.

To get back to live view mode you have to click Live button in bottom-right corner of screen.

4.2.1. System
a. System information - Set up the camera name, select language, and set up the camera time.
 MAC Address - information about MAC address of a device
 Camera model - information on the camera model (NVIP-TDN2401D/IR/MPX1.0)
 Server name - this name will be shown on the NMS device and the web page
 LED indicator - allow to control green LED located on camera printed circuit board
 Language - allows for changing language of a camera
OSD Setting
 Time Stamp - enables or disables time and date displayed in camera window
 Position - selects a position where date and time is shown on screen.
 Text - enables or disables text defined by user (max 30 characters)
Time Setting
 Date format - selects date display mode
 Time zone - selects a local time zone
 Enable Daylight Saving - function allows to adjust clock forward one hour near the start of
spring (DST Start) and adjust it backward in autumn (DST End)
 NTP Server - domain or IP address of NTP server
 Update - frequency of time update
 Time shift - shifts time to local
 Synchronize with PC time - time and date is synchronized with PC clock
 Manual - sets up a specific date and time defined by user
 The time and date remain the same - default function to not to change time

b. User management - tab for setting up users parameters, add new one or delete existing.
 Anonymous user login - allows anyone to watch live view of camera.
 Add user - this function adds new user (guest). Type the user name and password,
then click “Add/Set”.
 User list - list of users. Here you can change password or delete existing user.
Click EDIT to modify the user name and password like depicted below.
To remove user click REMOVE and confirm by clicking OK. There is no possibility to delete
administrator account. Maximum number of users is 20.

c. System update - tab for upgrading firmware, save, restore and set default camera setting.
 Firmware upgrade - function allows to upgrade camera firmware.
To update the firmware online, click BROWSE button and select new f/w file with „bin” extension.
Then click UPGRADE and confirm OK to the proceed.
Caution: Please contact your local distributor before software upgrading.
Caution: You should close all other programs and run only one camera in Internet Explorer
browser. Power failure or turning off the device while upgrading the software results
in camera damage and necessity for service repair.
 Reboot system - after pushing START button camera restarts
 Factory default - after pushing START button all default settings are restored
(camera IP address is not changed, user’s settings are changed to default)
 Setting management - user may download the current settings to PC, or upgrade from previous
using saved settings.
