Where to Position the Devices
The Nx Series devices function in environments which have a temperature of between -5 e +40°C
and a humidity level of less than 80%.
For the configuration of the devices, a fixing kit is not required, but they should be placed on flat
surfaces, at eye level (e.g. desks, office furniture, bookcases). The ProSystem devices are designed
to be moved around easily, allowing the measuring of the presence of pollutants in work
environments in “roaming”.
The appliances should be placed in rooms where people spend most of their time (offices, meeting
rooms, etc.) and away from sources of heat, air-conditioners and extremely dusty environments.
The devices should also be placed far away from electromagnetic sources such as smart phones and
cordless phones, Smart-TVs, projectors and from sources of local pollution so as not to not to impair
the correct functioning.
It is also recommended that the Nx devices not be placed in environments where there is an
elevated quantity of dust (work premises with high dust residues such as carpenters, car workshops,
bakeries etc.).
The devices are equipped with a battery that allows up to 3 hours of use. Depending on the
characteristics of the environment being monitored (including, for example, ceiling height, number
of floors, thickness of the walls, etc.), the devices may not detect significant levels of some
parameters (see the FAQ section on the Nuvap website). Generally speaking, to understand the data
detected by the device, we recommend that you contact the Nuvap support team when you have
been monitoring for a few weeks.

Configuration of the ProSystem devices
Requirements for the configuration of the Nx Series devices
To configure the ProSystem devices you need:
•2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g (40Kb/s minimum band upload) Wi-Fi connection
1
•An iOS or Android Smartphone or Tablet
•A Nuvap account.
The Nx devices require a Wi-Fi network with WPA PSK authentication and do not support access via
WPA Enterprise or catch portal. The internet connection via the Wi-Fi network must not be through
proxy and must not filter the HTTP and HTTPS protocols (ports 80 e 443).
The devices use the 80 port to transmit the information via Internet. If this port is inaccessible or
the firewall is configured to block it, data transmission is not possible.
Preparing the Nuvap Nx device
In order to configure and use the device you must:
1. Remove the device and the power supply from the package;
2. Place it in the environment that you want to monitor;
3. Connect to the electricity supply;
4. Connect the power supply and insert the plug into the socket;
5. Press the power button next to the power connector to switch on
the device; (see Error! Reference source not found.)
6. Download the ‘Nuvap App’ Mobile App from Apple Store (™) or
Google Play (™)
7. Have a Nuvap Account, created automatically on the my.nuvap.com
platform, when you install the App.
Configuration of the Nuvap Nx
The device acquires the information from the Wi-Fi network at the moment when it is switched on;
it is therefore extremely important to switch it on and configure it in an area with a good network
coverage.
1. Login from the Mobile App with the credentials provided by the Nuvap account.
2. Select ‘Manage N1s’ from the menu on the left of the app
3. Select ‘Add Device’
4. Scan the QRCODE that is at the bottom of the device to be configured. (see Pic 3)
5. Follow the guided configuration procedure from the Nuvap App (see section Add Device).
6. Wait for the message: “Continuous Monitoring activated” to appear.
1
It is impossible to install the Nx device without a W-Fi connection.
Pic 4: Power button

Nuvap ProSystem Nx Series Device User Manual
15
If the device has been installed correctly, a few minutes after the installation procedure has been
completed, it will transmit the first measurements from the sensors and make them available via
the App. If this does not occur, we recommend that you repeat the installation procedure.
In the case of further installations, you simply need to add a new device from the ‘Manage Devices’
area of the App. All the devices that have been installed and are online will be visible on the account.
When the device has been correctly configured, on the App’s main page under the Nuvap Index
panel, you will be able to see that the device has been updated (grey writing under the device icon).
At this point, the monitoring of the environmental parameters has started, and from this moment,
roughly every quarter of an hour, the data will be updated and can be consulted either via the Nuvap
App or the My.Nuvap platform (see section My.Nuvap Platform).
The data can be only be visualized by authorized profiles (owners and viewers of the device). The
owner of the device can authorize all the viewer users that he likes, provided that they have
previously been registered on the my.nuvap.com platform. The viewer profiles, the notifications
and the function configurations are managed via the APP by the device’s owner.
Notes on the configuration (in case of problems)
The device is not correctly connected to the Wi-Fi network if it does not transmit the data after a
few minutes, or if it sends these messages: “Wi-Fi Password Error” or “IP Address Conflict”.
Any difficulties in configurating the devices can be caused by:
•Entering the wrong Wi-Fi network Password
•Presence of a network Firewall that denies access to Nuvap servers
•The Nuvap Nx device is too far from the Access Point
•The Nx battery is flat or not very charged
•A connection problem with the WAN network (if the device is connected to the Wi-Fi network,
but is not updating the monitored data)
Moving the devices
If the devices are moved, they may lose the internet connection. If this happens, you must put the
device back in the area with Wi-Fi coverage, or reconfigure it in the new environment using the
reconfiguration procedures.
The devices can memorize the data acquired even if they are not connected to the network, for up
to a maximum of 60 days. To allow the Nx Series device to retransmit all the memorized data to the
My Nuvap platform, just bring it back into the zone of the pre-configured Wi-Fi coverage.
The Nx devices have autonomy of around 3 hours, thanks to the built-in back-up battery.

Reconfiguring the devices
To reconfigure the device, just follow these easy steps:
1. Switch the ProSystem off and then on again.
2. Keep the touch button pressed with at least two fingers (on the top of the device, with the
Nuvap logo).
3. The status LED will first become purple and then BLUE. In the presence of the BLUE LED release

17
Using the ProSystem devices
Operating mode
The Nx Series devices have three operating modes:
•Continuous mode,
•Punctual mode 1
•Punctual mode 2
After the initial configuration of the device, the continuous mode is automatically activated: the
device constantly analyses the parameters and regularly updates the global assessment of the
quality of the monitored environment
2
, on the basis of a proprietary algorithm (“NUVAP QUALITY
INDEX”). The data and the index can be consulted via the App and the Platform at
http://my.nuvap.com.
Locally, at any time, by pressing the touch button, the Nx Series device will return a voice message
summarizing the quality of the monitored environment.
A reliable assessment of the quality of the monitored environment requires the use of an Nx Series
device in continuous mode, for a period of at least 30 consecutive days. It is possible to know the
Nuvap Quality Index of the environment in which the device is installed, at any time, through the
App and the Platform, at http://my.nuvap.com.
To pass to the punctual mode, just press the touch button and wait for the violet led.
In the punctual modes, the Nx device supplies the real-time results of the analysis of the
environmental quality parameters of the area monitored via the Nuvap App.
In punctual mode 1, the Nx device supplies the real-time results of the analysis of the environmental
quality parameters of the area monitored via the Nuvap App. We recommend this mode every time
you wish to check a specific environment.
In punctual mode 2, the Nx Series devices supply the reading of one sensor at a time in “live” mode
via the Nuvap App, and update the analyzed data every two seconds, producing a graph of the values
in real-time.
Auto-test
The Nx series is able to perform an automatic correct operation test at predetermined time
intervals. If there are no operating anomalies it emits a green light, which if desired, you can turn
off via the App.
In the event of the auto-test detecting operating anomalies, such as for example, problems with the
Wi-Fi connection, problems with the battery, broken or uncalibrated sensors etc., the device emits
a blue light.
2
The environmental conditions may vary over time.

Nuvap ProSystem Nx Series Device User Manual
18
It is also possible to check the state of the device and any anomalies in the functioning by simply
pressing the touch button.
Any information regarding malfunction is also transmitted to the platform, if the network
connection functions have not been compromised. It is in any case necessary to calibrate the device
at regular intervals to confirm that it is functioning correctly.
Reset
It is possible to reset the Nx Series devices by cancelling all the settings. This operation can be made
necessary, for example in the event of modifications in the Wi-Fi network (change of network name
and/or password, change of modem, moving the device).
It is not possible to carry out the reset only from the Nuvap App. To carry out the reset and cancel
all the data and settings, proceed as follows:
•Switch the device off and switch it on again after a few seconds
•Press the touch button and keep it pressed until the Nx device emits a blue light (after around
20 seconds) and then release the touch button.
•After a few seconds, Nx will start functioning again, ready for a new configuration.
•After the reset, you must follow the initial configuration procedure.
Device notifications
The Nx Series devices can communicate via audio messages, light signals and notifications via App
or web platform.
Each device is able to emit two types of audio notification (Attention and Danger), and five types of
light signals via its leds (green, yellow, red, blue and violet).
In the event of an Nx device detecting the presence of pollutants at Attention or Danger levels, as
well as emitting a local alarm, it sends a notification to the App and the Nuvap platform
(http://my.nuvap.com).
Audio Messages
Each device emits two types of audio message to signal the increase in the levels of the pollutants
monitored: Attention and Danger
3
.
The notification that the attention level has been exceeded is to signal the increased levels of one
or more of the monitored pollutants before they reach the danger level.
In this case, the Nx device will emit the following message. “Detected presence of (name of
pollutant)”. At the same time, the device will emit an intermittent yellow light.
The danger alarm sounds when the level of one or more pollutants reaches the danger level, and
higher than the values believed to be healthy. The device emits an alarm and the voice message:
"High presence of (name of pollutant)". At the same time, the Nx Series device emits an intermittent

red light. In both cases, the device continues to repeat the voice alarm signal and the light signal
until it is deactivated by pressing the touch key on the top of the device.
Light signals
The Nx Series devices are able to send out five types of light signals:
•Green signal: occurs periodically or on request, (Touch) and signifies that the device is
functioning properly and there are no anomalies or pollutants detected. (see Green Signals
table)
•Yellow signal: occurs in the event of detection of higher levels of one or more of the pollutants
monitored before they reach the danger threshold (“ATTENTION”). Simultaneously emits the
voice message: “Presence of (name of pollutant)”. (see Yellow Signals table)
•Red signal: occurs when the level of one or more pollutants reaches the threshold of danger,
(DANGER). The device simultaneously sounds the alarm and the voice message: “Danger, high
presence of (name of pollutant)”. (see Red Signals Table)
•Blue signal: warns about malfunctions, for example, problems with Wi-Fi connection, battery,
sensors. The same blue signal can be seen during the start/reset phase of the Nx Series devices.
(see Blue Signals table)
•Violet signal: indicates that punctual measurement has started. (see Violet Signals table)
