INTRODUCTION
Thistechnicaldocumentationispartandparcelofthe
machine and must always follow the machine in case
it is moved or transfer of ownership, so as to allow
consultation by different operators.
Beforestartinginstallationandusingthemachine,itisfirst
necessary to carefully read and understand the instruc-
tions contained in this manual, as they offer important
information on installation safety, operating instructions
and maintenance.
This manual is divided into three chapters.
Thefirstchapterdescribestheloadingandroutinemain-
tenance operations which are carried out in areas of the
machine accessible with simple use of the door key,
without using any other tools.
The second chapter contains the instructions for correct
installationandallinformationnecessaryforoptimumuse
of the machine.
The third chapter describes maintenance operations
whichinvolvetheuseoftoolstoaccesspotentiallydanger-
ous areas.
The operations described in the second and third
chapters must be carried out only by personnel who
havethe specific knowledge ofthe machinefunction-
ing from a point of view of electrical safety and health
regulations.
IDENTIFICATION OF THE MACHINE AND
ITS CHARACTERISTICS
Each machine is identified by its own serial number,
indicatedontheratingplateattachedinsidethecabineton
the right side.
This plate is the only one acknowledged by the manufac-
turer as identification of the machine, and carries all data
which readily and safely gives technical information sup-
pliedbythemanufacturer.Italsoassistsinthespareparts
management.
IN THE EVENT OF FAILURES
In most cases, any technical problems are corrected by
small repair operations; however, before contacting the
manufacturer we recommend that this manual be read
carefully.

TRANSPORT AND STORAGE
To prevent any damage, special care should be taken
when loading or unloading the machine.
The machine can be lifted by a motor-driven or manual
forklifttruck,andtheforksaretobeplacedunderneaththe
machine from the side clearly indicated by the symbol on
the cardboard package.
Do not:
- overturn the machine;
- drag the machine with ropes or similar;
- lift the machine by its sides;
- lift the machine with slings or ropes;
- shake or jolt the machine and its packing.
The machine should be stored in a dry room where the
temperature remains between 0°C and 40°C.
Avoid stacking machines one on top of the other and
always keep it upright as indicated by the arrows on the
packing.

POSITIONING THE MACHINE
Themachineisnotsuitableforoutdoorinstallation.Itmust
bepositionedinadryroomwherethetemperatureremains
between2°Cand32°C,andnotwherewaterjetsareused
for cleaning (e.g. in large kitchens, etc.).
The machineshould beplaced closeto awall,sothatthe
back panel is at a minimum distance of 4 cm from it and
correct ventilation may be ensured. The machine must
never be covered with cloth or the like.
The machine should be positioned with a maximum
inclination of 2°.
Ifnecessary provideproper levellingby wayof theadjust-
able feet included.
Important notice!!
Access to the machine interior for maintenance and/or
repairs is via the back panel.
Therefore the machine is designed to be rotated, thus
allowing removal of the back panel.
Installation on the cabinet
The machine can be installed on a table or on any other
suitable stand (recommended height is 800).
Ifpossible,itisadvisabletousethespecialcabinet,which
can house the liquid waste pan, the water supply kit, the
payment system and, in the case of very hard water, the
softener unit.
WARNING FOR INSTALLATION
The machine installation and the following mainte-
nance operations should be carried out by qualified
personnel only, who are trained in the correct use of
the machine according to the standards in force.
The machine is sold without payment system, therefore
theinstaller ofsuch systemhas soleresponsibility forany
damage to the machine or to things and persons caused
byfaulty installation.
The integrity of the machine and compliance with the
standardsoftherelevantsystemsmustbecheckedat
least once a year by qualified personnel.
All packing materials shall be disposed of in a manner
which is safe for the environment.
PRECAUTIONS IN USING THE MACHINE
The following precautions will assist in protecting the
environment:
- use biodegradable products only to clean the machine;
- adequately dispose of all containers of the products
used for loading and cleaning the machine;
- switch the machine off during periods of inactivity, thus
achieving considerable energy savings.
WARNING FOR SCRAPPING
Thesymbol indicatesthatthemachinemaynotbe
disposed of as ordinary waste; it must be disposed of in
accordance with the provisions of the European directive
2002/96/CE(WasteElectricalandElectronicsEquipments
-WEEE)andofanyresultingnationallaws,forpreventing
any possible adverse effects on the environment and on
human health.
For correct disposal of the machine, contact the dealer from
whom you have purchased the machine or our after-sales
service.

CHANGEABLE COMBINATION LOCK
Some machine models are fitted with a changeable com-
bination lock.
The lock is supplied with one silver colour key, with
standardcombination, to beused fornormal openingand
closing.
Thelockcanbecustomisedbymeansofakit,availableas
accessory, permitting changing of the lock combination.
Thiskitincludesachangekey(black)forthestandardlock
combination as well as the change (gold) and use (silver)
keys for the new combination.
Setsof changeanduse keyswithother combinationscan
be supplied on request.
Additional sets of use keys (silver) may be requested,
indicating the combination stamped on the keys.
Generally, only the use key (silver) is used, while the
combination change keys (gold) can be kept as spares.
Do not use the change key for normal opening, as it
may damage the lock.
To change combination do as follows:
- open the machine door to avoid forcing the rotation;
- lightly lubricate the inside of the lock with a spray;
- insert the current change key (black) and rotate to the
change position (reference notch at 120°);
-removethecurrentchangekeyandinsertthechangekey
(gold) with the new combination;
- rotate to the close position (0°) and remove the change
key.
The lock will now have the new combination.
Thekeys with the oldcombinationcannot be used for
the new combination.
ACCESSORIES
A wide range of accessories can be installed on the
machine to vary its performance:
Theinstallationkitsaresuppliedwiththeirowninstallation
and test instructions, which must be strictly observed to
ensure the machine safety.
Installationand thefollowingtestingoperations must
be carried out exclusively by personnel who have a
specific knowledge of the machine functions from a
point of view of electrical safety and health regula-
tions.
Themachineisnotsuitableforoutdoorinstallation.Itmust
bepositionedinadryroomwherethetemperatureremains
between2°Cand32°C,andnotwherewaterjetsareused
for cleaning (e.g. in large kitchens, etc.).

DOOR SWITCH
When opening the door a special switch disconnects the
power from the machine electrical system to allow the
operationsdescribedbelow,regardingloadingandroutine
cleaning, in full safety.
All operations which require the machine to be ener-
gised with the door open must be carried out EXCLU-
SIVELY by qualified personnel who are aware of the
specific risks of such condition.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
According to current safety and health rules and regula-
tions, the operator of an automatic vending machine is
responsible for the hygiene of materials that come in
contactwithfoodstuff;thereforehemustcarryoutmainte-
nanceonthemachinetopreventtheformationofbacteria.
At installation the hydraulic circuits and the parts in
contact with foodstuff should be fully sanitised to
removeany bacteria which mighthave formedduring
storage.
Itisadvisablethatspecificsanitisingproductsareusedfor
cleaningalsothesurfaceswhicharenotdirectlyincontact
with foodstuff.
Some parts of the machine can be damaged by strong
detergents.
The manufacturer declines all responsibility for damage
caused by non-compliance with the above instructions or
by the use of strong or toxic chemical agents.
Beforestartinganymaintenanceoperationsrequiring
parts of the unit to be removed, the machine must
always be switched off.
USING THE VENDING MACHINES FOR
HOT DRINKS IN OPEN CONTAINERS
(Ex.: plastic cups, ceramic cups, jugs)
Vendingmachinesfordrinksinopencontainersshouldbe
used only to sell and dispense drinks obtained by:
- brewing products like coffee and tea;
- reconstituting instant and lyophilised products;
These products should be declared by the manufacturer
as “suitable for automatic vending” in open containers.
The dispensed products should be consumed imme-
diately.Theyshouldneverbepreservedand/orpacked
for later consumption.
Anyotheruseisunsuitableandthuspotentiallydangerous.

CONTROLS AND INFORMATION
The user controls and information are located on the
outside of the door (see Fig. 5).
The labels with the selection menu and instructions, sup-
plied with the machine, must be inserted at the time of
installation.
The Programming button, to access the machine func-
tions, and the service buttons are located inside the ma-
chine on the right-hand side of the coin mechanism com-
partment.
NOISE LEVEL
The continuous, weighted equivalent acoustic pressure
level is below 70 dB.

LOADING CUPS
When loading cups for the first time (i.e. with the cup
dispenser completely empty) do as follows:
- disconnect the electricity from the machine;
- rotate the shelf outwards, forcing the resistance of the
securing magnet;
- remove the lid from the cup container;
-fillthecolumnswithcups,excepttheonealignedwiththe
dispensingopening;
- switch the machine on and the full column will be
positioned automatically over the dispensing opening;
- fill the empty column;
- release one or more cups with the special button and
replace the cover.
The cup dispenser shelf has a double joint that improves
accesstothecupdispenser,especiallywhenthemachine
is installed in a bank.

LOADING COFFEE
Lift the cover and fill the hopper with coffee, ensuring that
the shutter is fully open (see Fig. 7).

LOADING SUGAR AND
INSTANT PRODUCTS
Aself-adhesivelabelindicatingthe productis attachedon
each container.
After lifting their cover, fill the single containers with the
appropriateproducts,takingcarenottocompressthemto
prevent packing. Make sure the products do not contain
any clots.
SANITISING THE MIXERS AND
THE FOODSTUFF CIRCUITS
Wheninstallingthemachine,andthenatleastonceaweek
or even more frequently according to the use of the
machine and the quality of the inlet water, the mixers and
the dispensing conduits must be thoroughly sanitised
(cleanedanddisinfected),to guaranteeproperhygieneof
the dispensed products.
The parts to be cleaned are as follows:
-powderdepositdrawers,mixerandinstantdrinkdispens-
ing conduit;
- dispensing tubes and spouts;
- sugar chute;
- dispensing compartment;
- remove the powder and the water funnels, the feeders,
the powder deposit drawers and the mixer wheels from
the mixers (see Fig. 8);
-inordertounscrewthewheels,simplyblockthediskfitted
on the mixer shaft with a finger;

- wash all parts with detergent (using the doses indicated
by the manufacturer) being sure that all visible residue
and product layers are mechanically removed, using a
brush if necessary;

Disinfection should be carried out using sanitising prod-
ucts.
-soakallcomponentsforapprox.20minutesinacontainer
filled with the previously prepared sanitising solution;
- reinstall the feeders and the water funnels;
- reinstall the powder deposit drawers and the powder
funnels after thoroughly rinsing and drying them.
After reinstalling all parts the following is however
required:
- enter into “Filler” mode to clean the mixers (see relevant
paragraph)andaddafewdropsofthesanitisingsolution
in the various funnels.
- After disinfection thoroughly rinse all components to
ensure that all residue of the detergent solution is re-
moved.
CLEANING THE WATER SUPPLY TANK
(OPTIONAL)
For machines equipped with a water tank inside the
support cabinet, at least once a week, such tank must be
sanitised with the sanitising products used for the mixers.
CLEANING THE WASTE PANS
Thecoffeegroundspansandthedispensingcompartment
can be removed easily for emptying and cleaning.
Ifthespecialpinsfittedonthecontainercoverareremoved
and inserted into the special holes (see Fig. 10), the pan
can be removed only with door open.
For safety reasons, when removing the pans, special
switches disconnect the power from the machine and
signal the absence of the pan to the control software.
CLEANING THE CUP SHIFT ARM
The cup shift arm must be cleaned periodically by remov-
ing it from the machine. In order to remove it, completely
undo the fastening knurled nut (see Fig. 11).
When reinstalling it, ensure that the spacer washer is
positionedcorrectly.

CLEANING THE SUGAR DISPENSER
Formodels withsugardispensed directlyintothe cup,the
sugar dispensing system must be cleaned periodically
using hot water (see Fig. 12) proceeding as follows:
- release the return spring;
- lift the flexible lever to free the pin;
- remove the pin and the dispensing spout;
- wash and dry thoroughly;
- after cleaning, reinstall all parts in the reverse order.
PERIODIC CLEANING THE COFFEE UNIT
Every time coffee is refilled, or at least once a week, any
powderresidueshouldberemovedfromtheexternalparts
of the coffee unit, particularly from the coffee funnel.
SUSPENDING FROM USE
If for any reason the machine is switched off for a period
exceeding the use-by date of the products, the following
will be necessary:
- completely empty the containers and thoroughly wash
them with the sanitising products used to clean the
mixers;

Installation and the following maintenance operations
shouldbecarried outwith themachine switched on and
thereforebyqualifiedpersonnelonly,whoaretrainedinthe
correctuseofthemachineandinformedaboutthespecific
risks of such situation.
To energize the system with the open door, simply insert
the special key into the slot (see Fig. 13).
Thedoorcanbeclosedonlyafterremovingtheyellowkey
from door switch and lowering the machine top panel.
The machine must be installed in a dry room with
temperature between 2°C and 32°C.
At installation the hydraulic circuits and the parts in
contact with foodstuff should be fully sanitised to
removeany bacteria which mighthave formedduring
storage.
DOOR SWITCH
When opening the door a special micro-switch discon-
nects the power from the machine electrical system.
To energize the system with the open door, simply insert
the special key into the slot (see Fig. 13).
With the door open, there is no access to energised
parts. Inside the machine, the only parts that stay
energisedare thoseprotectedbycoversand carrying
aplatewiththewarning“Disconnectthepowerbefore
removing the protective cover”.
Before removing such covers disconnect the power
supply cable from the grid.
The door can be closed only after removing the key from
doorswitchandloweringthemachinetoppanel,sothatthe
closing control device of the top panel is triggered.
UNPACKING THE MACHINE
After removing the packing, ensure that the machine is
intact.
If in doubt do not use the machine.
No packing elements (i.e. plastic bags, polystyrene
foam, nails, etc.) should be left within the reach of
children, as they are potentially dangerous.
Packing materials must be disposed of in authorised
containersand the recyclableones mustbe recoveredby
qualified companies.
Important notice!!
The machine should be positioned with a maximum incli-
nation of 2°.
Ifnecessary provideproper levellingby wayof theadjust-
able feet included (see Fig. 14).

It is good practice to install the water supply tap
outside the machine in an easily accessible position.
OVERFLOW DEVICE
The water inlet solenoid valve (see Fig. 16) is equipped
with an overflow device which mechanically stops the
waterinlet ifthere isamalfunction inthe solenoidvalve or
in the boiler water level control device.
To restore normal operation, proceed as follows:
- disconnect the electricity from the machine;
- drain the water contained in the overflow hose;
- shut off the water supply using the tap outside the
machine;
- loosen the nut which secures the solenoid valve supply
hose to relieve the water mains residual pressure and
then tighten again (see Fig. 16);
- open the tap and switch the machine on.
WATER SOFTENER UNIT
The machine is sold without water softener.
Shouldthewaterbeveryhard,awatersoftenerunitcanbe
installed.
The water softener, available as accessory, must be
replaced or regenerated regularly following the directions
from the manufacturer.
CONNECTION TO THE POWER SUPPLY
The machine is designed to operate under single-phase
230 V~ voltage and is protected by 15 A fuses.
Before making the connection, ensure that the rating
corresponds to that of the power grid, and more specifi-
cally:
- the supply voltage rating must be within the range
recommended for the connection points;
- the main switch should be capable of withstanding the
peak load required, and at the same time ensure proper
omni polar disconnection from the power grid with an
opening gap of the contacts of at least 3 mm.
The switch, the power outlet and the plug must be
located in an easily accessible position.
Theelectricalsafety ofthe machine isensured onlywhen
it is correctly earthed according to the safety standards in
force.
This fundamental safety requirement must be duly
verified, and if in doubt the system must be carefully
tested by qualified technicians.
INSERTING THE PRODUCT LABELS
Undo the fastening screws and remove the cover.
The product should be inserted into the special slots (see
Fig. 15).
According to the model, some buttons may not be used
(refer to the selection dose table).
Themachineissuppliedalsowiththeself-adhesivelabels
to be attached to the product containers according to the
layout (refer to the selection dose table).
CONNECTING THE MACHINE TO THE
WATER MAINS
The machine must be connected to the drinking water
mains, taking into account law provisions in force in the
country where the machine is installed.
The water pressure must be 0.05 to 0.85 MPa (0.5 - 8.5
bar).
Runsomewaterfromthemainsuntilitisclearandwithout
impurities.
Use a hose capable of withstanding the water mains
pressure and suitable for use with foodstuff (min. inside
diameterof6mm)toconnectthewatersupplytothefitting
(3/4" gas) of the water inlet solenoid valve (see Fig. 16).

The power supply cable is of the type with a fixed plug.
Replacement of the power cable (see Fig. 17) should be
carriedoutbyqualifiedandsuitablytrainedpersonnelonly
using cables type HO5 RN-F or HO5 V V-F or H07 RN-F
with a 3x1-1.5 mm2section.
Do not use adapters, multiple sockets and/or exten-
sions.
THE MANUFACTURER DECLINES ALL RESPONSI-
BILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED BY NON-COM-
PLIANCE WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED PRECAU-
TIONS.
INSTALLING THE PAYMENT SYSTEM
The machine is sold without payment system, there-
fore the installer of such a system has sole responsi-
bility for any damage to the machine or to things and
persons caused by incorrect installation.
Install the coin mechanism paying attention, according to
the type used, to:
- secure the coin mechanism onto the support, choosing
the most suitable securing holes;
- open the board support removing the two fastening
screws;
-loosenthefasteningscrew andadjustthecoinslot chute
according to the coin mechanism opening;
- loosen the fastening screws and adjust the coin return
lever.
FILLING THE WATER SYSTEM
Ifthe air-breakdevice indicatestheno-water conditionfor
morethan10secondsafterthemachinehasbeenswitched
on, an installation cycle will automatically be started, and
namely:
- the display will show
“INSTALLATION”
for the entire duration of the cycle;
- the air-break and the instant product boiler are filled;
- (for espresso models only) the coffee solenoid valve is
openedsothatairmaybebledfromtheboilerand800cc.
of water filled.
N.B.:Ifthereisnowaterflowfromthemainsduringthe
installationcycle,themachinewillbeblockeduntilthe
water is resumed or the machine is switched off.
This operation must be carried out manually, using the
special function from the “test” menu in “Technician”
mode, if the kit (optional) for water supply from an
internaltankisfittedorafteranymaintenancerequiring
the boiler to be emptied but not the air-break.
INSTALLATION IN A BANK OF MACHINES
The machine control system is pre-arranged for the con-
nection in a bank of machines using special kits.
This permits the use of a single payment system and
remote connection (GSM) for more machines.
Inthe eventof installationin abankof machines,it canbe
configured a “Master”, i.e. having control over the second
machine,oras “Slave”,i.e.leavingthe controltotheother
machine.

COFFEE UNIT OPERATION
COFFEE DISPENSING CYCLE
Aftereachtimethemachineisswitchedon,thecoffeeunit
isrotatedcompletelybeforethenormalcycletoensurethat
the device is in the correct start position.
Whenmakingacoffeeselection,duringthecoffeegrinder
operationtheunit rotates180°to bringthebrewingcham-
ber into a vertical position (see Fig. 19).
The coffee grinder operates until filling the coffee doser
chamber.
When the doser unit is full, the ground coffee dose is
released into the coffee unit.
Thecoffee fallsinto thevertical brewingchamber (1)(see
Fig. 19).
The ratiomotor handle engaged with the disk (2) located
outsideof the assemblyrotates by180°, makingthe brew
chamberswingandloweringtheupperpiston(3)(seeFig.
20).
Duetothewaterpressure,thepre-brewingspring(5)sinks
and the lower piston (4) goes down 4 mm, thus forming a
watercushionwhichallowsanevenuseofthecoffeedose.
Atthe endofthe dispensingcycleand duringapause of3
seconds, the pre-brewing spring (5) will discharge the
water through the third way of the dispensing solenoid
valve, lightly pressing the used coffee dose.
Bycompletingitsrotation,theratiomotormakestheswing-
ing lever (6) lift the pistons and the tea dose.
Atthesametime,whenthebrewingchamberreturnstoits
verticalposition,thescraperonthecoffeehopperstopsthe
used coffee dose and drops it.
The lower piston now returns to the top dead centre.
CHECKING AND ADJUSTING
THE MACHINE SETTINGS
Togetthebestresultsfromtheproductused,thefollowing
should be checked:
Thattheusedcoffeedoseislightlycompressedanddamp.
The grade of grinding of ground coffee.
The dose weight of the instant products.
The drink temperature.
The water dose.
Shouldthestandardsettingsneedtobechanged,proceed
as indicated in the next sections of this manual.
The weight of instant products, the water dose and tem-
perature are directly controlled by the microprocessor.
To adjust them it is therefore necessary to follow the
programming procedures.

STANDARD SETTINGS
The machine is supplied with the following settings:
- coffee temperature (at the spout) 85-89°C approx.;
-instant producttemperature(at thespout)75°C approx.;
The machine standard settings assign the same price,
expressed in number of basic coins, to all selections.
ADJUSTING THE BREWING
CHAMBER VOLUME
When the upper piston is correctly positioned, the coffee
unit can operate with coffee doses of 5.5 to 8.5 g.
For optimum results, it is advisable to vary the grade of
grinding with the coffee grinder motor running.
NB:After adjustmentofthe grade ofgrinding, at least
2 test selections must be performed in order to check
the new grade of grinding for ground coffee:
The finer the grade of grinding the longer the time neces-
sary for dispensing the coffee and vice versa.
To change the piston position (see Fig. 21) do as follows:
- remove the snap ring from its seat;
- place the piston in the proper adjusting notches:
.less deep notches for 5.5 to 7.5 g doses;
.deeper notches for 6.5 to 8.5 g doses.
ADJUSTING THE GRADE OF GRINDING
Whenavariationinthegradeofgrindingisdesired,turnthe
relevant adjusting knob on the grinder (see Fig. 22) and
more specifically:
- turn the knob anticlockwise for coarser grinding;
- turn the knob clockwise for finer grinding.
ADJUSTING THE COFFEE DOSE
Thedose adjustinglever canbepositioned inone ofthe 6
reference notches bearing in mind that:
- the dose is increased by lifting the lever:
- the dose is reduced by lowering the lever:
- every notch changes the dose by approx. 0.25 g.
In addition, when the lever is fully rotated upwards, the
ratchet can be released from the groove in the dose
regulator(seeFig.20)andreplacedintoadifferentgroove
to change the average dose setting to:
- low 6 g. ± 0,5
- medium 7 g ± 0,5
- high 8 g ± 0,5
To take the dose just remove the coffee unit and use the
special function from the “Test” menu in “Technician”
mode (see relevant section).
Important notice!!!
To refit the coffee unit, pay special attention to the
piston position. Reference notches on the external
disk and on the unit case should match (see Fig. 24).
WATER TEMPERATURE CONTROL
The boiler temperature is controlled by the software and
can be adjusted directly from the menu.

Notes on programming
The machine electronic control allows or not the use of
many functions:
Allof theavailablefunctions aredescribedin themachine
program, including the ones that are not used for the
specific configuration of the model (layout).
The machine is supplied with a dose table, describing the
different functions and layouts available for the specific
model and the flowchart of the programming menu.
Below is listed a summary explanation of the main func-
tionsusefulformanagingtheoperationofthemachine,not
necessarily in the order in which they are displayed in the
menu.
For further information and detailed explanations refer to
the programming manual available through our sales
organisation, at our after-sales service.
The software version can be updated using the specific
systems (PC, Flash, Upkey etc.).
The messages on the display that indicate the current
operation
arefixed,while anyactionrequired bytheuseris blinking.
SWITCHING ON
When closing the door, the display indicates the software
version number to which referring for consulting the pro-
gramming manual. The machine can be programmed for
displaying, for a few second, the number of selections
made.
After a few seconds the display shows the message: and
the machine goes into normal operating mode
OPERATING MODES
The machine can be in three different operating modes.
According to the operating mode, the buttons take on
different functions.
The available operating modes are as follows:

NORMAL OPERATING MODE
During the normal operating mode the display shows the
message for the user with the prompt to select the drink.
The function of the buttons can be different according
to the layout and to the choices made during program-
ming.
When inserting coins or a payment system, the avail-
able credit is displayed.
During the drink dispensing, also a status bar is shown,
indicating the drink preparation status.
In the event of a malfunction detected by the control
system, an error message will be displayed indicating the
type of problem.
At the end of dispensing, the display indicates for a few
seconds the request to pick up the drink and the machine
is preset for the next selection.
