The usermustoperatethe productaccording tothe performancespecifications
described inthe operation manuals.
Before using the productunderconditionswhich are notdesctibed inthe manual
orapplying the product to nuclearcontrolsystems,railroad systems,aviation
systems,vehicles,combustion systems,medicalequipment, amusementma-
chines,safetyequipment, and othersystems,machines,and equipment that
mayhaveaseriousinfluence on livesand propertyifused improperly,consult
yourOMRONrepresentative.
Makesurethat the ratingsand performancecharacteristics of the productare
sufficient forthe systems,machines,and equipment, and be sureto provide the

tions,warnings,and dangers shown herecontainimportantinformation related
tosafety.The instructionsinthesecautions,warnings,and dangersmustbe
observed.

CAUTIONSDo notuseinput functions such asPTfunction keys forapplicationswheredan-
gerto human life orseriouspropertydamage ispossible,orasthe emergency
stop switch.
SOn unpacking the unit, check itsexternalappearance and confirmthat thereis
no damage.Alsoconfirmthat thereisno abnormalnoise on shaking the unit
lightly.The productmaymalfunction ifitisdamaged.
SThe thickness ofapplicable operation panel is1.6mm to 4.8mm.All futtings
mustbe tightened uniformlyto a torque of0.5to 0.6Nmin orderto ensure
water- and dust- resistence.The panelmustnotbe soiled orwarped,and must
be abletosupportan installation thatwill remainsecure and strong.
SDuring workat the panel, takecareto ensurethatno metalscrapsenterthe
unit. Otherwise, the productmaymalfunction.
SCarefully check the wiring beforeswitching ONthe power.
SDo notconnectACpowertothe DC terminals.
SUseDC powersupplieswithlowvoltage and frequency fluctuations.
SForthe connection tothe powersupplyterminalblock, twisted wiresof2mm2
orgreatercross sectionalarea and M3.5sizecrimpterminalsmustbe used.
Tighten the screwson the terminalblock to a torque of0.5Nm.
Otherwisefiremayoccur.
SAfterconnecting a communication cable,always secureitwiththe screws.
Otherwisethe cablemaydisconnect, causing operation tofail.
SThe cable’stensileload is30 N.Do notsubjectit toloadsgreaterthan this.
Otherwise a discontinuitymayoccur,causing operation tofail.
SSwitch off the NT11Spowersupplybeforeconnecting ordisconnecting a con-
nector.
SIf the connection cableis connected ordisconnected whilethe powerof the
printerison, the NT11Smaymalfunction.Makesuretoturn off the powerof the
printerbeforeconnecting ordisconnecting the connection cable.
SIn addition tothe DIPswitches,setalsothe “Comm.Method”,“HostLink
Speed”,“Auto-restart”,etc.at the memory switches.Forthesesettings,referto
Section 3-7“Setting the ConditionsofCommunicationswiththe PCbyUsing
the MemorySwitches” (page 57)
SAfterchanging the switchsettings,always press the resetswitch orturnthe
poweroff and back on.
Otherwisethe systemwill notoperate asexpected.
SConfirmsystemsafetybeforeturning the powerON/OFF or resetting.
Otherwisethe system mayoperate unpredictably.
SCarefully check the operation ofall screen data and hostprogramsbefore us-
ing them. If incorrect, the system mayoperate unpredictably.

SAfterimagesmayremainif the same patternisdisplayed foralong period.
To prevent the formation ofan afterimage,eitherusethe screen saverfunction
orperiodicaly switchscreens.

Cautionson Cleaning Toclean the frontpanel,useasoft, dry cloth.Ifitis verydirty,use diluted (2%)
neutraldetergent.
Do notusevolatilesolvents such asbenzene, thinner,orachemicallytreated
cloth.Theirusewill cause deformation ordiscoloration.
Cautionson AfterimageIf the samescreen contentsarekeptdisplayed foralong time,an afterimage may
occur.To prevent thisproblem,eitherset the afterimage prevention function or
make a programwhich periodically changesthe displayed screen.
Cautionson Operating theSystemKeys
Do notoperatethe systemkeys withsharplypointed objects,such as yourfinger-
nailsorascrewdriver.
This could breakthe film.
