SUSB-E8
EXPANSION UNIT
FOR CONTROL AND
MONITORING PANEL.
Description
The expansion unit is used to monitor
fire/smoke dampers in conjunction with the
control and monitoring unit.
If there are too many dampers to be connected
to the control and monitoring unit, the number
of inputs can be increased with expansion
units. One or more units can be connected.
There is no upper limit. Each expansion unit
can control up to 16 dampers and has eight
groups. This means that all the inputs can have
two dampers if necessary.

Fuses.
The connection card has three fuses. 1 AT fuse
protects the entire unit. The 63 mAT protects
just the electronics and the 2.5 A protects the
dampers (actuators). 2.5 A has now been
replaced with 4 AT.
Jumpers.
Jumper settings are used to specify the number
of connected dampers (groups). There are two
jumpers for each group. Group 1 must always
be connected, so there are no jumpers for this
group. The jumpers are inserted ”vertically” so
that the upper and lower pins are shorted by
the jumper. Jumpers are supplied in the plastic
bags provided. If the jumpers are set
incorrectly, either the control and monitoring
unit generates an alarm or the function test will
not detect dampers with no jumpers set.

Jumper X must always be set to ON.

To connect more expansion units to a main unit, 17, 21 and 22 in all the expansion units must be
connected in parallel.
