Frontplate + Pi-Shield
Frontplate
Mount the Pi Shield to the front plate using four M3x8mm screws

Base + Ring
Base Ring
Make sure that the ring can slide relatively freely before continuing with the next steps.

Mounting the Turntable Motor
Make sure to mount the small stepper motor (Turntable) first. The motor connector should face to
the left.

Mounting the rotor motor
Press the small gear onto the motor shaft of the larger
stepper motor.
Mount the stepper motor with four M3x8 screws like
shown below. Move the large ring a couple of times to
make sure, that the gears fit. (If not, you can use a
different size of the small gear).
Again, the motor connector should face to the left.

Mounting the Raspberry Pi
Make sure to not overtighten the screws as this might bend and damage the board.

Preparing the Ringlight Module
(1)Insert the M2x6 screw (2x)
(2)Add two nuts (2x)
(3)Add the Camera Module
(4)Tighten the camera module
using two M2 nuts.

Preparing the camera cable
Insert the camera ribbon cable through the two slots (red arrows). Make sure that the metal plating
of the cable is facing the stepper motor (yellow circle).
Take your time with that step, the cable should not bend sharply.

Continue through the next slot (again the metal plating should be facing away from you)

Insert the camera ribbon cable into the socket. The metal plating should be facing away from the
USB/Ethernet ports (yellow circle).

Mounting the Ringlight Module

Connecting the Ringlight Module
Connect the camera ribbon cable with the camera. The Metal plating is facing down.
If you have two JST cables (20cm+30cm) use the longer one to connect to the ringlight.
1x JST XH 3P (50cm)

If you have two JST cables (20cm+30cm), connect the smaller one like shown above (red arrow)
Use the two slots (yellow circles) to guide the cable.

Connecting the Pi Shield
Turntable (small Nema 17)
Rotor (large Nema 17)
JST XH 3P (from ringlight module, see previous step)
And connect the stepper motor cables to the corresponding stepper motors

Mounting the Frontplate
Bottom view:
Mount the frontplate to the base and make sure that the pin headers of the Raspberry Pi and the Pi
shield are properly aligned. (Yellow circle)
1x M3x8 or M3x12

Use the M3 screw to connect the frontplate to the base.

Mounting the Backplate
4x M3x8

You might use some zip-tie to cleanly store the cables behind the back plate.

Mounting the Diffuser/Polarizer
This step is optional but can greatly enhance the image quality. The
diffuser makes the light more even and the polarizer can absorb almost all reflections.
The diffuser/polarizer module is a snap-on part and should be mounted like this:
The polarizer consists of two pieces of linear polarizer foil, which are mounted perpendicular to each
other. The larger piece polarizes the emited light and the smaller one in front of the lens absorbs all
the reflections, as they have kept their polarization.
Yellow lines indicate the plane of polarisation.
