Thank you for purchasing an OptiSource MultiMeter, The
all-in-one: UV meter, Visible Light meter and Photochromic
Lens Demonstrator.
IMPORTANT: Please report any broken, damaged or missing parts
immediately. To start, insert the enclosed power cord into the back
of the MultiMeter and plug into any power outlet.
Warning: MultiMeter uses UV emitting bulbs. Do not look directly
into light source. Do not operate without the black UV diode box
afxed to the top of the box.
Electric Specication: Input = 6 volts @ 2 amps. Works in any 110V
outlet. Power adapter supplied must be used. Use of any other
power adapter cord will void the warrantly.
Your MultiMeter has a one year warranty on all parts and
materials. This warranty will be void if the unit has been:
in contact with water or liquid, tampered with,
disasembled, misused, dropped, used with a power
adapter cord not supplied by OptiSource, used for other
purposed than specied, or any other act that would
normally destroy or cause the unit to not function.
For repairs, call OptiSource to receive instructions.
DO NOT send unit back without a RMA number.
1. When pressing any button on the MultiMeter, hold it
down for 1 second.
2. Whenever “READY...” is displayed on the LCD screen,
pressing a MODE button will be necessary.
3. If the MultiMeter fails to automatically calibrate to
100%, simply press the CALIBRATE button on time.
4. To switch from one MODE to another MODE, press the
desired MODE button breiy two times.
TIPS:
WARRANTY

UV readings displayed are the percentages of UV light entering the
lens. A reading of 10% would mean that 10% of UV light is passing
through the lens, and 90% is being blocked.
A reading of “0” (zero) would mean that 100% of UV is being blocked.
As of 2007 a reading of 4% or less is a safe level for UV protection.
1. Press the UV MODE button one time. The unit will self calibrate
to 100%. Place the lens on the black rubber circle located on
the top of the box. A UV transmission reading will be displayed
immediately.
2. If a safe reading is not obtained, retreat the lens in UV solution.
If a lens has already been tinted and retreatment is necessary, all
tint color should be removed rst to avoid contaminating the UV
bath.
Use the VISIBLE LIGHT mode to compare tint darkness between
lenses to achieve perfectly matched tint densities.
1. Press the VISIBLE LIGHT MODE one time. The unit will self
calibrate to 100%. Place the lens on the black rubber circle
located on the top of the box. A VISIBLE LIGHT transmission
reading will be displayed immediately.
2. When comparing a pair of tinted lenses, both lenses should
have the same reading or within 2% of each other. If the lenses
do not match, select the lens you choose to match to and take
a VISIBLE LIGHT reading. In this example we will say the lens
you want to match to reads 60%. Measure the other lens to be
adjusted. If the reading is higher than 60%, it will need to be
tinted slightly darker. Conversely, if the reading is lower than
60% it will need to be lightened.

The PHOTOCHROMIC DEMONSTRATOR MODE is a great way to
show patients the clear-to-dark change of Transitions® or any brand
photochromic lenses. You never have to rely on daylight conditions
to demonstrate the benets of photochromic lenses again. The
PHOTOCHROMIC DEMONSTRATOR MODE is ideal for any practice
that doesn’t have/want access to outdoor conditions to active lenses.
1. Slide the side drawer out 2/3 of the way.
2. Fold the temples of a frame containing clear Transitions® or
any brand photochromic lenses and lay the glasses in the center
“V” channel.
3. Close the side drawer completely with the glasses inside.
4. Press the PHOTOCHROMIC DEMONSTRATOR MODE button.
A countdown wil begin momentarily. At the end of the countdown
an alarm will sound.
5. Open the side drawer and remove glasses. The photochromic
lenses will now be activated to their dark/tinted color.
6. If a darker result is desired, repeat steps 1-5.
