General Information:
The Master-Press was designed to make embossing and/or foil stamping on paper
or cardboard covers, as well as on covers coated with paper veneer. It is also
possible to make hot stamps on plastic or plastic coated covers, however
previously the tests should be carried out to check if the material is suitable for foil
stamping/embossing.
The use of fonts makes possible composing any inscription (there are available
various kinds of fonts, also in various languages and sizes) and marking it on the
cover or other surface. It is also possible to prepare a special matrix (e.g. a logo)
consistent with the GOLDCOVER standard. The detailed information concerning
extension of the possibilities of the machine can be obtained from the supplier.
Operation of the machine does not need special qualifications, however:
Before starting the work operator should read the user’s guide carefully
In separate offer they are also available:
O.Matrix Frameworks MP was designed to install matrixes into Masterpress
hot stamping equipment. You can order a special, customized logos/cliché
(O.Matrix MP) from OPUS, of your own design or you can use your own
logos/cliché. In both cases O.Matrix Frameworks are necessary to put the
matrix into the heating slot, however to fit your own matrix a special tape
(O.Mounting Tape) and a plate called (O.Matrix Base MP) are also required.
A. Preparing the customer matrix (using O.Matrix Base MP)
1. Remove the protection layer and stick the O.Matrix tape to
the back of your matrix then cut it along the matrix edge.
2. Remove second protection paper and stick the matrix to
the O.Matrix Base MP.
Note!
Before sticking the matrix, make sure that the inscription/logo on the matrix is
parallel to the bottom edge of the plate (O.Matrix Base MP).
B. Assembling the O.Matrix Framework MP (both to O.Matrix and O.Matrix
Plate MP)
1. Screw down O.Matrix Frameworks MP to the O.Matrix MP or O.Matrix Base MP
with 4 bolts.
Note!
In order to screw down the bolts please use the screwdriver, which is supplied to
the Master Press Hot Stamping equipment and also is use to adjusting guides in
frames for fonts.
Note!
The heating time of a matrix depends on its size and can vary from 5 to 10
minutes. It is necessary to conduct a test to check if the matrix is hot enough.
Design of the machine:

Master-Press is a manual eccentric press. It is fitted with a heater enabling hot
print stamping, with a plc microprocessor controller, a LCD digital display to
maintain precise temperatures and stamping times, which ensures consistent work
conditions. A matrix or typeface fonts with a matrix in a MP frame can be fitted
over the heater. Side guides enable the precise positioning a cover in relation to
the frame. The adjusting screws under the table/stamping table enables the
changing of height of the table in different points, which can help to emboss
complicated patterns. The foil holder has an electric motor to feed the foil when
doing large run and make it possible to use a roll of foil 122m long (max width of
230mm). Foil feeding is automatically, you can also use single pre-cut sheets of
foil. It is recommended to use foil supplied by good quality manufacturers or from
Opus with this equipment. Using low quality types of foil may affect the outcome in
a bad way of your cover and documents. Ask your supplier about foils.
Transport and storage:
Master-Press has electric and electronic components. Both the equipment and
the package should be kept away from the damp and the wet (i.e. rain).
In the case of flooding or severe wetting of the equipment, contact the
service team and have the technical survey to avoid damage and
electrical shock!
The equipment should not be transported or stored in temperatures below 0˚C
The packing protects the equipment from shock, however it is recommended
to be careful when transporting.
The equipment is bolted to a wooden pallet.
Because of the weight of the equipment it is recommended to move or
transport it by pallet or fork-lift truck.
Installation:
The package contains: Masterpress 1 equipment, table top, legs, and a box of
accessories and parts and tools to assemble.
It is recommended to store the original package through the guarantee period.
The equipment should be placed on a strong solid flat surface, to ensure safe
and operation, We recommended that you screw down the base to the floor

If the machine was exposed to temperatures below 0˚C, care should be taken
to warm the equipment up slowly in normal room temperature to avoid
condensation and damage to the electrical circuits and processor
it may be connected to mains after a reasonable time.
To ensure operator’s safety, the equipment must be connected to the
mains power only through the original cord. The mains socket must be
in accordance with electrical and earthing regulations and the supply
voltage specified on the equipment and technical data.
Failure to do so can cause electrical shock or fire and cancelling the
guarantee.
Preparation for work:
1. Insert the plug into the mains socket
2. Mount the roll of foil on the foil holder, feed it over the heater and fix it to the
foil winding roller. Foil width must not exceed 230mm.
2. Switch the power supply on (the main switch is located at the back of the
machine) –after few seconds the temperature starts increasing
NOTE!
The equipment has a factory setting temperature of 100˚C. This setting on average
provides the best results for hot print stamping and embossing. However, if the
stamping results are not satisfactory which depend on the type of foil and cover,
it may be necessary to change the settings by pressing [▲] or [▼] button to raise
or lower the temperature using button marked (Stemp). Current temperature is
indicated on the right side of display (Temp).
1. Wait until the set heater temperature is reached, „READY” will appear on
display and a sound, a bleep which means that it is ready for operation).
2. The machine reached required temperature and is ready to operation
Hot print stamping and embossing:
1. Take the frame out of the heating slot
NOTE! If the frame was previously used or on the heater unit, remove and
wait 5-10 minutes until it gets cold enough to handle. Burn Hazard
2. Put the MP frame on the frame holder. It is safer, easier and quicker to put
and remove typeface fonts into the MP frame.
3. Compose the required text in the MP frame lines with the typeface and
suitable fonts using the tweezers supplied.
4. NOTE! The fonts should be put in and taken out using the special
tweezers. the ends of the tweezers fit into the holes on the typeface
fonts which makes it easy to lift. The holes and the letters show you the
correct way and help to distinguish between the top and bottom of the
letter. The bottom hole is closer to the bottom of the letter. On the
smaller typeface there is only 1 at the bottom for the letter.
5. Lock the text in the frame by the stops at each end.
6. Insert the frame to the heating slot and wait about 1 minute until the typeface
fonts are hot check the temperature on the led display.
7. Set the side guides to position the cover in suitable to the frame
8. There is no need to put anything under the cover. The equipment
automatically adjusts heater height for the material thickness.
9. Set the pressure required by adjustment large black knob on the front of the
equipment to the required pressure 1-10, 10 is the maximum pressure.
10. You must adjust the pressure to the cover type.
11. Insert the cover under the heater in the guides. If it is necessary, use
additional resistance angels by putting them under the sidegauges with
straight side face to cover.
12. Slowly pull the handle down till it stops.
13. There will be a bleep signal and on the LCD you will see END.
14. Lift the handle to the fully open position. The foil will wind on ready for the
next. The amount of foil movement can be adjusted to suit the job.
15. Take the cover out –your documentation is ready!

NOTE! Do not let go the arm until in the fully open and off position.
(Indicated in the picture on page 3)
NOTE! In the case of embossing complicated and uneven patterns,
you can adjust the stamping table top using the 12 screws for regulation.
1. Using the regulation screws under the table-top on the stand you can correct
differences in embossing (where the embossing is too shallow), by tightening
the proper screw.
2. Screwing of regulation screws about 60° causes rising or lowering part of table
top about 0.3 mm. You will hear characteristic leap of the screw
