orangemarine VHF WP 200 User manual

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing our VHF WP 200.
Please read the instructions carefully before using the VHF. This multifunction
marine radio has been designed in accordance with IMO (International Maritime
Organisation) standards.
You can use this VHF with its IPX7 waterproofing technology anywhere – even
in rough seas.
PRECAUTIONS
This VHF runs on 5 NiMH (AAA) batteries or alkaline batteries. Make sure
the positive and negative terminals are correctly aligned before switching
it on. To avoid damaging your radio, always insert batteries the right way
around.
CHECK that the battery cover is closed properly to ensure it stays
waterproof.
This VHF must be recharged with an appropriate charger.
Do not expose it to direct sunlight or place it near a source of heat below
-20°C or above + 55°C for prolonged periods.
If the device starts to smoke or smell odd, remove the batteries
immediately and contact us.
Transmitting without the antenna may damage the product.
Do not use in a flammable or explosive environment.
Keep the VHF at least 1 metre from your boat's electronic navigation
compass.
WARNING: the VHF meets IP-67 waterproofing standards. However,
dropping the device may damage the casing or the seal and therefore
compromise the guaranteed waterproofing.
CHECK that the antenna, the hands-free kit and the battery are dry before
attaching them to the VHF. If water gets inside the radio, it may seriously
damage it.
CHECK that the charging socket and hands-free kit socket are fully closed
and waterproof to avoid any water damage.

RECOMMENDATIONS
If the VHF is exposed to seawater, clean it thoroughly with fresh water and ensure it is dry
before using it again. Failing to do so may render the buttons and components unusable
due to salt crystallisation.
N.B.: DO NOT submerge the radio in water if you suspect the waterproof protection has
been compromised, e.g. if the VHF/battery/jack cover is cracked or broken, if the VHF has
been dropped, or when the battery, antenna or jack cover have been detached.
WATERPROOFING
The VHF has IP-67 standard waterproofing protection. It is dust-resistant and waterproof to
a depth of 1 metre for 30 minutes. Check that the battery cover, antenna and jack socket
are fully closed before using the VHF on the water.
ACCESSORIES
The VHF WPF 200 is sold with the following accessories:
1 x VHF WP 200 1 x USB cigarette lighter charger
1 x Antenna 5 x NiMH batteries (850 mAh)
1 x USB cable 1 x Belt clip

RECHARGING THE VHF
WP 200 may be charged with either the USB charger, the cigarette lighter charger or the
mains charger. Twist the button on top of the VHF and plug in the cable. The radio is
charging when the keypad display lights up.
The charging time depends on what
type of NiMH batteries are being
used. It should take no longer than
10 hours to charge when the VHF is
off and 18 hours when it is on.
It is recommended to charge the
VHF while it is switched off.
N.B.: Never charge the VHF while
non-rechargeable batteries are
