お使いになる前に
製品の取り扱いは、 適切な資格、 知識を有する人が行なってください。
お使いになる前に、 「安全上のご注意」をよくお読みのうえ、 正しくお
使いください。
この製品は、 一般的な産業機器への組み込み用として設計・製造され
ています。 その他の用途には、使用しないでください。 また、電源には、
一次側と二次側が強化絶縁された直流電源を使用してください。 この
警告を無視した結果生じた損害の補償については、 当社は一切その
責任を負いませんので、 あらかじめご了承ください。

警告

•停電したときは、 電源を切ってください。 停電復旧時にファンが突然
起動して、 けが・装置破損の原因になります。
•ファンを分解・改造しないでください。 けがの原因になります。 内部
の点検や修理は、 お買い上げになった支店または営業所に連絡し
てください。
注意
•ファンの仕様値を超えて使用しないでください。 けが・装置破損の原
因になります。
•ファンの開口部に指や物を入れないでください。 けがの原因になり
ます。
•運転中や停止後しばらくの間は、 モーター部に触れないでください。
モーター部の表面が高温のため、 やけどの原因になります。
•ファンの回転部（ランナー）、 リード線を持たないでください。 けがの
原因になります。
•ファンの周囲には、 可燃物を置かないでください。 火災・やけどの
原因になります。
•ファンの周囲には、 通風を妨げる障害物を置かないでください。 装
置破損の原因になります。
•ファンを設置するときは、 静電対策を行なってから設置してください。

•運転中は回転部（ランナー）に触れないでください。 けがの原因にな
ります。 保護のため、 オプションのフィンガーガードを使用してくださ
い。
•異常が発生したときは、 ただちに運転を停止して、 ファンの電源を

設 置
設置場所
風通しがよく、 点検が容易な次のような場所に設置してください。
•屋内に設置された筐体内
•使用周囲温度 –10 ～+60 °C（凍結しないこと）
•使用周囲湿度 85%以下（結露しないこと）
•爆発性雰囲気、 有害なガス（硫化ガスなど）、 および液体のないところ
•直射日光が当たらないところ
•塵埃、 鉄粉などの少ないところ
•水（雨や水滴）、 油（油滴）、 およびその他の液体がかからないところ
•連続的な振動や過度の衝撃が加わらないところ
•放射性物質や磁場がなく、 真空でないところ
•電磁ノイズ（溶接機、 動力機器など）が少ないところ
スイッチング回路や高周波電源の近くで使用すると、 電磁ノイズ（伝導
ノイズ、 放射ノイズ）の影響で、 誘導電流がファンの内部に流れる場
合があります。 誘導電流が流れるとファンの軸受けに電食が発生し、
異常音や寿命低下の原因になります。 電磁ノイズの影響がない環境
で使用してください。
設置方法
ファンは耐振動性に優れ、 熱伝導効果が高い平滑な金属板に設置し
てください。
取付金具 PAS4B（別売）を使用してください。
取付金具を使って、 ファンを装置に固定します。 ケーシング部が取付
金具固定面と接触しないように、 台座などを設けてください。

電源の接続
赤のリード線を電源の +（プラス）側に、 黒のリード線を GND側に、 そ
れぞれ接続してください。
製品の銘板で電圧仕様を確認し、 正しい電圧を入力してください。

アラームとセンサの接続と仕様
回転低下アラーム 有接点タイプ
白と青がアラームのリード線です。 図のようにお客様の回路に接続して
ください。
ファンの回転速度が 1300±400 r/min以下（MBD12タイプ）、
1500±400 r/min以下（MBD10タイプ、 MBD8タイプ）になると、 アラー
ム信号（Hレベル）を出力します。

重 要
回転低下アラーム回路には起動遅延回路を内蔵しています。
ファンが起動した後 10 秒以内にアラーム機能が有効になります。
パルスセンサタイプ
黄色がパルス出力のリード線です。 GNDは共通です。 図のようにお客
様の回路に接続してください。
パルス出力は、 1回転あたり 2周期の矩形波を出力します。

拘束時の焼損保護
MBDシリーズには、 焼損防止回路を内蔵しています。 拘束状態を検
知すると、 自動的に巻線に流れる電流を制御します。 羽根が拘束され
て焼損することはありません。
拘束状態が解除されると自動的に運転を再開します。 点検するときは、
必ず電源を切ってください。

This Operating Manual describes product handling procedures and
safety precautions.
•Please read it thoroughly to ensure safe operation.
•Always keep the manual where it is readily available.

Introduction
Before using the fan
Only qualied personnel should work with the product. Use the product
correctly after thoroughly reading the section “Safety precautions.”
The product described in this manual has been designed and
manufactured for use in general industrial machinery, and must not
be used for any other purpose. For the power supply use a DC power
supply with reinforced insulation on its primary and secondary sides.
Oriental Motor Co., Ltd. is not responsible for any damage caused
through failure to observe this warning.
RoHS Directive
The products do not contain the substances exceeding the restriction
values of RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU).
Safety precautions
The precautions described below are intended to prevent danger
or injury to the user and other personnel through safe, correct use
of the product. Use the product only after carefully reading and fully
understanding these instructions.

Warning
•Do not use the product in explosive or corrosive environments, in the
presence of ammable gases, locations subjected to splashing water,
or near combustibles. Doing so may result in re or injury.
•Assign qualied personnel the task of installing, wiring, operating/
controlling, inspecting and troubleshooting the product. Failure to do
so may result in re or injury.
•Shut off the power to the fan in the event the lock-protection circuit is
activated. Otherwise, the fan will start unexpectedly when released
from the locked condition, causing bodily injury or equipment
damage.
•Install the fan in an enclosure in order to prevent injury.
•Keep the input-power voltage within the specied range to avoid re.
•Connect the cables securely according to the wiring diagram in order
to prevent re.
•Do not forcibly bend, pull or pinch the cable. Doing so may re.
•For the power supply use a DC power supply with reinforced
insulation on its primary and secondary sides. Failure to do so may
result in electric shock.
•Turn off the power in the event of a power failure, or the fan will
suddenly start when the power is restored and may cause injury or
damage to equipment.
•Do not disassemble or modify the fan. This may cause injury.
Refer all such internal inspections and repairs to the branch or sales
ofce from which you purchased the product.
Caution
•Do not use the fan beyond its specications, or injury or damage to
equipment may result.
•Keep your ngers and objects out of the openings in the fan. This
may cause injury.
•Do not touch the motor during operation or immediately after
stopping. The surface is hot and may cause a skin burn(s).
•Do not hold the rotating parts (runner) of the fan or lead wire. This
may cause injury.
•Keep the area around the fan free of combustible materials in order
to prevent re or a skin burn(s).
•To prevent the risk of damage to equipment, leave nothing around
the fan that would obstruct ventilation.
•Provide anti-static measures before installing the fan. Failure to do
so may result in equipment damage.
•Do not touch the rotating parts (runner) when the fan is in operation.
This may cause injury. The use of the optional ngerguard is
recommended to ensure protection.
•Immediately when trouble has occurred, stop running and turn off the
fan power. Failure to do so may result in re, electric shock or injury.
•Dispose the product correctly in accordance with laws and
regulations, or instructions of local governments.
Preparation
Verify the model number of the purchased product against the number
shown on the package label. The fan model name is listed on the fan
nameplate.

Installation
Location for installation
Install it in a well-ventilated location that provides easy access for
inspection. The location must also satisfy the following conditions:
•Inside an enclosure that is installed indoors
•Operating ambient temperature
–10 to +60 °C (+14 to +140 °F) (non-freezing)
•Operating ambient humidity 85% or less (non-condensing)
•Area that is free of explosive atmosphere or toxic gas (such as
sulfuric gas) or liquid
•Area not exposed to direct sun
•Area free of excessive amount of dust, iron particles or the like
•Area not subject to splashing water (rains, water droplets), oil (oil
droplets) or other liquids
•Area not subject to continuous vibration or excessive shocks
•Area free of radioactive materials, magnetic elds or vacuum
•Area free of excessive electromagnetic noise (from welders, power
machinery, etc.)
When using near a switching circuit or high-frequency power supply,
the induced current may ow inside the fan due to electromagnetic
noise (conductive noise, radiative noise). If the induced current ows,
the electric corrosion is caused in the bearings of the fan. As a result,
it may generate the noise or shorten the service life of the products.
Use the fan in the environment that the electromagnetic noise does
not cause.

How to install the fan
Install the fan onto an appropriate at metal plate having excellent
vibration resistance and heat conductivity.
Use the mounting bracket PAS4B (sold separately).
Afx the fan to the equipment using mounting bracket. Be sure to use
a spacer so that the casing does not touch the surface to which the
mounting bracket is secured.

Connecting the power supply
Connect the red wire to the positive (+) power supply and the black
wire to the ground connection.
Check the voltage specication on the product identication plate and
input the correct voltage.

Connection and specications of the
alarm / sensor
Low speed alarm, contact alarm type
The white and blue wires are lead wires for the alarm circuit. Connect
these wires to the client’s circuit as shown in the gure below.
An alarm signal (H level) is output when the fan’s rotation speed falls
below 1300±400 r/min (MBD12 type) or 1500±400 r/min (MBD10 type,
MBD8 type).

Note
The low speed alarm type of fan is equipped with an internal
delayed-start alarm circuit. The alarm function becomes effective
within 10 seconds of the fan start.
Pulse sensor type
The yellow wire is lead wire for the pulse output. GND is common to
the sensor and power supply. Connect these wires to the client’s circuit
as shown in the gure below.

Overheat protection
The fan is equipped with an internal protective circuit against
overheating. In the event a lock-up condition is detected, this function
automatically controls the current ow to the fan motor’s windings, thus
preventing the fan blades from locking and burning out.
The fan resumes operation automatically as soon as it is released from
the locked condition. Be sure to shut off the power to the fan before
performing an inspection.
