or near gas fumes like from a loose gas cap.
3. NEVER use the Cigar Throttle on any equipment with a leaking fuel

*Never use the Cigar Throttle when regional wildfire restrictions are in effect.
THE CIGAR THROTTLE IS DESIGNED FOR HIGHWAY USE ONLY.
City riding presents too many distractions for the safe use of the Cigar Throttle.
Furthermore, stop and go riding may cause your cigar to go out. The functionality
of the Cigar Throttle depends on constant forward motion above 35 mph.

INSTRUCTION MANUAL
We wish to sincerely thank you for choosing to purchase The Cigar Throttle.
You will be able to easily smoke your favorite 50 x 6 cigar while riding without the hassle
of falling hot embers, ashes in your face, wind shredded wrapper, or having nowhere to
put your cigar.
With proper use, good care and cleaning, the Cigar Throttle should last a lifetime.

Please familiarize yourself with the Cigar Throttle and read the warnings and manual
before attempting to use it.

Here’s how you Light, Load, Lock & Ride.
Make sure you have a properly humidified 50 ring gage x 6” premium cigar and it is
burning well. (Odd shaped cigars such as box press may not fit or function correctly in
the Cigar Throttle).
Light
Light your cigar and take a few puffs to make sure it
is burning well.
Load your cigar into the Cigar Throttle through the
opening.

Pull the lock ring to the open position.
Make sure the lock bearings used to lock and hold
your cigar are out of the way before loading.

A fully loaded, 6-inch cigar will have about 1 ½
inches of the cigar protruding out of the mouth end.
(Do not push the cigar all the way in as this might
extinguish it if it comes in contact with the Cap).
Lock your cigar in place by sliding the Lock Ring.

You should hear a “snap” or “click” when the lock is engaged. Your cigar will be securely
held in place until it softens after burning awhile.
Ride
Now take a few puffs. Place the Cigar Throttle onto your clean
steel tank with the mouth end facing towards the front of the bike.
Feel the pull of those magnets. You’re ready to go.
The motion of the bike will provide enough airflow over the Cigar
Throttle to keep your cigar burning until you are ready to stop
smoking, so get moving as soon as you can safely do so.
Whenever it’s safe, you can pick up the Cigar Throttle and take a
puff. Then place it back down.

Always lift the Cigar Throttle straight up as pulling rearward could cause the lock ring to
disengage.
CRITICAL:
Adjust the Cap before riding to control the airflow
received by your cigar.
Airflow properties are different from bike to bike, so
it is recommended that you practice adjusting the
airflow with several of your favorite well humidified
50 ring gauge by 6 inch cigars until you know how
the burn will work on your bike. For riders with
fairings, adjusting the side wind deflectors is
helpful too.

General guidelines:
START WITH THE CAP TWISTED CLOCKWISE UNTIL IT IS FULLY SEATED.
YOU ARE READY to ride at speeds above 55 mph.
When your riding speed will be between 40 and 55 mph, twist the cap counter-clockwise
until you hear 5 TO 10 clicks.
When your riding speed will be below 40 mph, twist the cap counter-clockwise until you
hear 10 TO 15 clicks.

Page 16

Remember, you want more airflow to keep your cigar burning at lower speeds and less
airflow at higher speeds. The only way you will know this is by testing a few cigars.
Too much airflow will waste your cigar and cause the Cigar Throttle to heat up to the
point that it’s too hot to touch.
Properly adjusting the airflow should make your cigar burn at the same rate as it would
under normal smoking conditions like in your favorite cigar shop.
If you notice the Cigar Throttle is getting hot to the touch set it down on the tank and
leave it alone. Your cigar should go out once it burns down to the lock bearings beneath
the lock ring.

WARNING:
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE AIRFLOW, LOCKING
MECHANISM, OR YOUR CIGAR WHILE IN MOTION! DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIGHT
OR RE-LIGHT YOUR CIGAR WHILE IN MOTION! NEVER TAKE BOTH HANDS OFF
YOUR HANDLEBARS! ALWAYS PUT THE CIGAR THROTTLE DOWN FIRST AND
WAIT UNTIL YOU SAFELY PULL OFF THE ROAD AND STOP!
The Cigar Throttle isn’t designed to work at speeds below 35 mph as this may not
provide enough airflow to keep your cigar lit.
If you left the band on, the nasty taste of the band is a good indicator that your cigar is
finished and it’s time to stop smoking.

Maintenance
Cleaning.
A few soft paper towels and some rubbing alcohol should be sufficient to clean the Cigar
Throttle. We do not recommend using water to clean the Cigar Throttle as there are a
few CHROME PLATED steel parts that may EVENTUALLY rust.
1. Remove the cap to open the bore up for cleaning. Be careful not to lose the tiny
spring and pin inside this area.
2. Dampen a section of paper towel with some rubbing alcohol and wipe out the
inside of the Cap and threads.

3. Now wipe the inside threads on the Body.
4. Using a pencil or something slightly longer than the Body, push another
dampened paper towel through the inside of the Body.
5. Use a toothpick or paperclip to make sure the 6 vent holes in the saddle are not
obstructed with ash or debris.
6. Repeat steps 2 –5 until the Cigar Throttle is clean.
7. Replace the Spring, Pin, and Cap.
