FAQS
Q: What does OxiLeaf™ Ultra do?
A: It treats the air in your home or oce by breaking down odor causing
pollutants, killing viruses, bacteria, mold and mildew, and removing
airborne contaminants (smoke, dust, pet dander, pollen) from your
breathing space.
Q: How does OxiLeaf™ Ultra treat the air?
A: OxiLeaf™ Ultra produces activated oxygen and negatively charged
ions, the same eective cleansing process nature uses outdoors to
purify the air.
Q: How does OxiLeaf™ Ultra work?
A: It is a six stage process:
OxiLeaf™ Ultra uses a needlepoint ionizer to drop dust, smoke and
other harmful particles out of the air we breathe. In our homes and
oces, there is a lack of negative ions and an abundance of positive
ions. The buildings we spend most of our time in block out the naturally
occurring negative ions. OxiLeaf™ Ultra recreates the natural balance
of positive to negative ions to signicantly reduce airborne particulates.
OxiLeaf™ Ultra uses electricity to split oxygen molecules (O2) into single
oxygen atoms (O) which attach loosely to other O2molecules to become
O3 (activated oxygen). This loosely attached oxygen atom is unstable
and seeks to bond with chemical compounds, odor causing pollutants,
viruses, and mold and mildew to oxidize them.
UV light with the TiO2 photocatalytic lter helps further to destroy
microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses.
The HEPA lter can capture microscopic particles below 0.3 microns,
such as radioactive dust in atomic plants. On the back of OxiLeaf™
Ultra, the HEPA lter also serves to protect the inner mechanism of the
unit from pollution entering and corroding it.
TiO2 photocatalytic lter can treat the airborne pollutants and is
revitalized when exposed to UV light.
Prelter can lter the dust and other particles in the air.
Q: How does nature produce ozone and ions?
A: Ozone is found everywhere outdoors. It is naturally created every day
during sunshine, thunderstorms, lightning and other natural events. The
fresh sweet smell after a thunderstorm is an abundance of ozone in the
air, rain, waterfalls and waves of the ocean, all creating negative ions.
Q: What is an ozone alert?
A: Ozone alerts in cities are a result of the high pollution levels of
hydrocarbons produced by the burning of fossil fuels. When ultraviolet
rays from the sun strike hydrocarbons, O3 is one of the by-products.
Ozone is nature’s sanitizer, and is produced by nature to combat air
pollution. The more polluted the city is, the more ozone will be in the air.
Q: How does it compare to air lters?
A: OxiLeaf™ Ultra does not rely on the air to actually pass through the
machine to be cleaned like typical air lters. Instead, the air purier
produces a.) activated oxygen, which reduces odors and kills mold,
viruses, bacteria, b.) negative ions that take out air particulates, and
includes c.) germicidal UV bulb with TiO2 photocatalytic lter for
cleansing.
Q: Is ozone safe?
A: Yes! But moderation is the key. Ozone in very high concentrations
is not necessary and can even be somewhat irritating. We recommend
you adjust the O3 properly. Before using your OxiLeaf™ Ultra, please
read the enclosed instructions carefully. Also refer to the enclosed Quick
Step Guide.
Q: Where should I place OxiLeaf™ Ultra in my home or oce?
A: OxiLeaf™ Ultra should be placed in the central location of your home,
preferably in a big, open area, such as a living room or dining room. It is
not designed for a single room use, however if there is a particular room/
area that needs to be sanitized, you can place the air purier there rst
for a few days until the problem has been corrected, and then return it
to recommended location. Place the unit at least 4 feet o the ground or
higher for best performance.
Q: How long will OxiLeaf™ Ultra last?
A: OxiLeaf™ Ultra is made of stainless steel and solid wood
construction. Because of the quality material and superior
craftsmanship that goes into each OxiLeaf™ Ultra, you will be able to
enjoy it for many years if maintained properly.
Q: Is it dicult to install?
A: No. Just install the O3plates (located in a small separate white
box), plug it in, and set for the area you will be treating (refer to Quick
Steps Guide and this user guide). For more rapid results, you may also
consider placing the unit up high, facing an air intake if your home
features an air conditioning/heating system. O3 will be evenly distributed.
