•This product contains small parts that could be a choking hazard if swallowed. Keep
these items away from children.
•This product is not protective against fire but is instead to prevent young children from
approaching the fireplace.

•Make sure all fastenings are tightly in place and that everything is in order before using
the product. This should be checked periodically by an adult.
•This product is intended for indoor use only.
•This product is not a toy, and is only to be used for its designated purpose.
•Do not carry out alterations or modifications to this product.
•Children should be supervised at all times when using the product.
•Clean only with a damp cloth. Do not use strong industrial cleaning substances.
•Leaving the product outside exposed to weather, especially direct sun and rain, will
speed the weathering process. This can be slowed by removing the product from these
conditions, or covering it with a suitable cover.
•Keep fingers, loose clothing, and hair away when folding the product.
•Only use this product on stable, level and dry ground.
•This product is suitable for children up to the age of 2.
•Ensure the play pen is secured with the wall fittings if using to guard a fireplace.
•Only use with the original parts that are supplied by the manufacturer. Minimum
distance between the gate and a fireplace should not be less that 75cm.
•To ensure stability, place the panels at an angle.

Assembly:
1. Ensure that the handles of the gate section are in the upright position.
2. Remove the pole from the end of one of the panels by slightly lifting it and sliding the
bottom section out of the lower hinge as shown below. You will then be able to slide the
top part out of the upper hinge.
3. To connect the gate section to a panel you must lift the gate section slightly and connect
it to the panel by pushing the connecter hinges of the gate onto the hinge of the panel as
shown below.
4. To allow the gate to be adjustable, you must remove the centre pole from the gate section
by again slightly lifting it and sliding the bottom section out of the lower hinge followed
by sliding the top part out of the upper hinge.

5. Once you have adjusted the gate into the correct position you can now secure this by
reinserting the pole into the frame. To do this you must firstly put the upper part of the
pole back into the upper hinge which will then allow you to slide the lower part into the
lower hinge as shown below.
6. In order to make the product foldable, you must ensure that the plastic connecters are
facing in opposite directions as shown below.
7. Repeat the above steps in order to add or remove panels from the gate.
Mounting to a Wall:
1. Insert the outer pole of the gate/panel into the lock seam of the securing hinge (3). To
secure the pole you will need to close the wings of the hinge.
2. Place the lock fitting (4) between the two wings, making sure that the holes are in the lock
fitting as shown below. The holes on the wings must be positioned on top of each, not
overlapping.
3. Insert a screw (7) through every hole and add a bolt (8) on the end and tighten. Make sure
that the nuts are on the outside so that they cannot be tampered with.

4. There will be three buttons on the back of the lock fitting which will need to be inserted
into the wall. The wall bracket (5) will need to be lifted so that the buttons on the lock
fitting can snap into the wall bracket as shown below.
5. Lift up the loose gate section and remove the wall bracket by sliding it down and pulling
it. You can now mark the wall bracket’s position on the wall.
6. You are now able to attach the wall bracket to the wall by using the woodscrews (6).
7. You will then be able to attach the gate to the wall using the lock fitting. Make sure you
tighten the screws.
Use of the Gate:
•To open, push both buttons of the handle and lift slightly in order to unlock the hook on
the lower part of the gate. The handle must be in an upright position. The gate is now
able to be opened in both directions.
•To close, push both buttons on the handle and slightly push the gate into the frame. The
hooks will lock the lower part of the gate so that it is now closed. Always check properly
to ensure that the door is locked.
