By installing this unit, you can extend the range of your phone system to include
areas where reception was previously not available.
The unit extends the range in all directions, allowing several floors to be covered.

For best performance
Placement
LInstall the unit within base unit range in an indoor environment. We recommend
installing the unit in a raised position (such as on a wall).
LAvoid positioning the unit close to objects that will interfere with reception, such as
thick walls, radiators, metal shelving, etc.
LFor maximum distance noise-free operation, place the unit away from electrical
appliances such as TV, radio, personal computer, or other telephone equipment.

phone system. Find the appropriate location by checking the windicator. If the w
indicator lights red or amber, re-position this unit in a place where the windicator
lights green.

Installation/Registering the range extender to the base unit
Once the unit is connected to a power outlet in step 3, it automatically goes into
registration mode (if not already registered).
1Range extender: Connect the AC adaptor.
LUse only the supplied Panasonic AC adaptor PQLV219.
2Base unit: Press and hold {LOCATOR}for about 5 seconds.
LDepending on the base unit, a registration tone sounds.
LIf all registered handsets start ringing, press the same button to stop. Then
repeat this step.
LThe next step must be completed within 90 seconds.
3Range extender: Connect the AC adaptor to a power outlet.
LWhen the unit is turned on, the STATUS indicator and windicator light amber
for about 2 seconds.
4Range extender: Confirm that the STATUS indicator and windicator light
green. (The unit is ready for use.)
LIf the indicators do not light green, re-position the unit in a place where the
indicators light green.
5Base unit: To exit registration mode, press {LOCATOR}.
Note:
LThe AC adaptor must remain connected at all times. (It is normal for the adaptor to
feel warm during use.)
LThe AC adaptor should be connected to a vertically oriented or floor-mounted AC
outlet. Do not connect the AC adaptor to a ceiling-mounted AC outlet, as the weight
of the adaptor may cause it to become disconnected.
LThe unit can support a maximum of 2 handsets at a time.
LUp to 2 range extenders can be registered to the base unit.

Wall Mounting
Drive the screws (not supplied) into the wall. Mount the unit, then slide it down.
Note:
LMake sure that the wall is strong enough to support the weight of the unit.
Troubleshooting
Problem Cause/solution
The unit does not work. LWhen the indicators do not light, the AC adaptor is not
connected properly. Check the connections.
LWhen the indicators do not light green, move the unit
closer to the base unit.
LRegistration may have been canceled.
Deregister the unit, then re-register.
Deregister:
1Unplug the AC adaptor, then press and hold
{PROGRAM}.
2While pressing and holding {PROGRAM},
re-connect the AC adaptor.
3Keep pressing and holding {PROGRAM}for about
10 seconds until the STATUS indicator flashes
amber. Then release {PROGRAM}.
Re-register: Unplug the AC adaptor, then perform
from step 2, “Installation/Registering the range
extender to the base unit”, page 3.
While talking using the
handset, sound cuts in
and out.
LThe handset is out of range. Move the handset closer
to this unit.
The STATUS indicator
continues to light
amber for a while.
L{PROGRAM}was pressed. The unit is in
programming mode. To exit, press {PROGRAM}
again. Do not press {PROGRAM}, except when
deregistering the unit.

Power connection
LUse only the power source marked on the product.
LDo not overload power outlets and extension cords. This can result in the risk of fire or electric
shock.
LCompletely insert the AC adaptor/power plug into the power outlet. Failure to do so may cause
electric shock and/or excessive heat resulting in a fire.
LRegularly remove any dust, etc. from the AC adaptor/power plug by pulling it from the power
outlet, then wiping with a dry cloth. Accumulated dust may cause an insulation defect from
moisture, etc. resulting in a fire.
LUnplug the product from power outlets if it emits smoke, an abnormal smell, or makes an
unusual noise. These conditions can cause fire or electric shock. Confirm that smoke has

LUnplug from power outlets and never touch the inside of the product if its casing has been
broken open.
LNever touch the plug with wet hands. Danger of electric shock exists.
Installation
LTo prevent the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not expose the product to rain or any type of
moisture.
LDo not place or use this product near automatically controlled devices such as automatic doors
and fire alarms. Radio waves emitted from this product may cause such devices to malfunction
resulting in an accident.
LDo not allow the AC adaptor to be excessively pulled, bent or placed under heavy objects.
Operating safeguards
LUnplug the product from power outlets before cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
LDo not disassemble the product.
Medical
LConsult the manufacturer of any personal medical devices, such as pacemakers or hearing
aids, to determine if they are adequately shielded from external RF (radio frequency) energy.
(The product operates in the frequency range of 1.92 GHz to 1.93 GHz, and the RF
transmission power is 115 mW (max.).)
LDo not use the product in health care facilities if any regulations posted in the area instruct you
not to do so. Hospitals or health care facilities may be using equipment that could be sensitive
to external RF energy.

Installation and location
LThe AC adaptor is used as the main disconnect device. Ensure that the AC outlet is installed
near the product and is easily accessible.

Range extender location/avoiding noise
The range extender and other compatible Panasonic units use radio waves to communicate with
each other.
LFor maximum coverage and noise-free communications, place your range extender:
– at a convenient, high, and central location with no obstructions between the handset and
range extender in an indoor environment.
– away from electronic appliances such as TVs, radios, personal computers, wireless devices,
or other phones.
– facing away from radio frequency transmitters, such as external antennas of mobile phone
cell stations. (Avoid putting the range extender on a bay window or near a window.)
LCoverage and voice quality depends on the local environmental conditions.
LIf the reception for a range extender location is not satisfactory, move the range extender to
another location for better reception.
Environment
LKeep the product away from electrical noise generating devices, such as fluorescent lamps
and motors.
LThe product should be kept free from excessive smoke, dust, high temperature, and vibration.
LThe product should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
LDo not place heavy objects on top of the product.
LWhen you leave the product unused for a long period of time, unplug the product from the
power outlet.
LThe product should be kept away from heat sources such as heaters, kitchen stoves, etc. It
should not be placed in rooms where the temperature is less than 0 °C (32 °F) or greater than
40 °C (104 °F). Damp basements should also be avoided.
LThe maximum calling distance may be shortened when the product is used in the following
places: Near obstacles such as hills, tunnels, underground, near metal objects such as wire
fences, etc.
LOperating the product near electrical appliances may cause interference. Move away from the
electrical appliances.
Routine care
LWipe the outer surface of the product with a soft moist cloth.
LDo not use benzine, thinner, or any abrasive powder.
1. Do not use this product near water for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, or
laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool.
2. Avoid using a telephone (other than a cordless type) during an electrical storm. There may
be a remote risk of electric shock from lightning.
3. Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
4. Use only the power cord indicated in this manual.

Instalación/Cómo registrar el extensor de alcance a la
unidad base
Una vez que la unidad está conectada a una toma de corriente en el paso 3, automáticamente
se va al modo de registro (si no ha sido registrada con anterioridad).
1 Extensor de alcance: Conecte el adaptador para corriente.
L Utilice sólo el adaptador de CA Panasonic PQLV219 que se suministra.
2 Unidad base:
Oprima y mantenga oprimido { LOCATOR } durante aproximadamente 5 segundos.
L Dependiendo de la unidad base, suena un tono de registro.
L Si todos los auriculares registrados comienzan a timbrar, oprima el mismo botón para
detenerlos. Después repita este paso.
L El siguiente paso debe completarse en un máximo de 90 segundos.
3 Extensor de alcance: Conecte el adaptador para corriente a una toma de corriente.
L Cuando la unidad base está encendida, el indicador de ESTADO y el indicador de w se
iluminan en ámbar durante aproximadamente 2 segundos.
4 Extensor de alcance: Confirme que el indicador de ESTADO y el indicador de w se
iluminen en verde (la unidad está lista para usarse).
L Si los indicadores no se iluminan en verde, reposicione la unidad en un lugar donde lo hagan.
5 Unidad base: Para salir del modo de registro, oprima { LOCATOR } .
Nota:
L El adaptador de corriente debe permanecer conectado todo el tiempo. (Es normal que el
adaptador se caliente durante su uso.)
L El adaptador de corriente debe estar conectado a un enchufe de corriente orientado
verticalmente o en una toma de corriente alterna montada en el piso. No conecte el
adaptador de corriente alterna a una toma de corriente montada en el techo, ya que el peso
del adaptador puede hacer que se desconecte.
L La unidad puede soportar un máximo de 2 auriculares a la vez.
L Se pueden registrar hasta 2 extensores de alcance en la unidad base.

Montaje en la pared
Coloque los tornillos (no se suministran) en la pared. Coloque la unidad y deslícela hacia abajo.
Nota:
L Asegúrese de que la pared sea lo suficientemente resistente para soportar el peso de la
unidad.
Solución de problemas
Problema Causa y solución
La unidad no funciona. L Cuando los indicadores no se iluminan, el adaptador de CA
no está conectado correctamente. Verifique las conexiones.
L Cuando los indicadores no se iluminen en verde, acerque la
unidad a la unidad base.
L Es posible que se haya cancelado el registro.
Cancele el registro de la unidad y regístrela de nuevo.
Para cancelar el registro:
1 Desconecte el adaptador de CA, y después oprima y
mantenga oprimido
{ PROGRAM } .
2 Mientras mantiene oprimido { PROGRAM } ,
conecte de nuevo el adaptador de CA.
3 Siga oprimiendo { PROGRAM } durante
aproximadamente 10 segundos, hasta que el indicador
de ESTADO parpadee en ámbar. Después, deje de
oprimir
{ PROGRAM } .
Para registrar de nuevo:
Desenchufe el adaptador para corriente, y después efectúe
los pasos a partir del paso 2, “Instalación/Cómo registrar el
extensor de alcance a la unidad base”, página 3.
Mientras habla usando el
auricular, el sonido se
corta y vuelve.
L El auricular está fuera de alcance. Acerque el auricular a
esta unidad.
