3 Troubleshooting Guide
CONDITION CHECKPOINT METHOD OF INSPECTION CAUSE / REMEDY
Motor fails to rotate.
(no noise is heard at all)
Power cord Chech power cord continuity between
pliug pins cord reel patition unit.
If there is no continuity, replace the
cord reel patition unit.
Fuse (Plug for UK only) Check plug fuse continuity. If there is no continuity, replace the
cord reel patition unit.
Main fuse (250V, 12A) Check main fuse continuity. If there is no continuity, replace the rail
base unit.
Motor continuity Check motor continuity between car-
bon brush holder tabs.
If there is no continuity, replace the
motor.
ON/OFF Switch Check continuity across switch connec-
tions.
If there is no continuity, replace the
switch.
Power board (P.C.B. AU) If cther checkpoints do not have any problems, then replace the control circuit
board AU (P.C.B. AU).
Rotary potentiometer Check if the potentiometer is in open
circuit.
If it is in open circuit, replace power
control.
Motor runs but there is no suc-
tion.
Hose or Suction inlet, Exten-
sion wand and nozzle
Check if there is any blockage in the
indicated parts.
If there is any blockage, remove it.
Dust bog / Secondary filter Check if dust bag is full or Secondary
filter is choked up.
If dust bag is foll, replace with a new
one. If Secondary filter is choked up,
remove and clean it out or replace.
Noise or vibration Motor fan Chech dust accumulated in motor fan
(if could happen if the vacuum cleaner
has been used with a broken dust bag
or without central filter).
If there is dust accumulated in the
motor fan, repiace the motor and check
filter condition (never try to dismantle
the motor fan).
Motor boes not change power
(runs alweys at full speed).
Rotary potentiometer Check possible bad contact of power
control potentiometer.
If there is bad contact, replace the
power control.
Power board (P.C.B.AU) Check if power board circuit is short-
circuited.
If it is short-circuited, replace power
board ass’y.
Motor runs irregularly Rotary potentiometer Check possible bad contact of power
control potentiometer.
If there is bad contact, replace power
control.
