WORK WEAR AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
When using your hedge-trimmer, you should wear proper clothing
proper for outside operation, and protective equipment as follows:
• Helmet
• Protection goggles or facial protection
• Protective work gloves
• Non-slip-sole work boots
• Ear protectors
You should also carry:
• Provided tools
• Properly reserved fuel
• A steel brush for cleaning blade
Never use your hedge-trimmer when wearing loose clothing, low
hanging jewellery, sandals or when barefoot.
HANDLING OF FUEL
WARNING! - The engine of this product is designed to run on mixed
fuel which contains highly flammable petrol. You should never store
cans of fuel or refill the tank in any place where there is a boiler, stove,
wood fire, electrical sparks, welding sparks or any other source of heat
or fire which might ignite the fuel.
• Smoking while operating the hedge-trimmer or refilling its fuel tank
is extremely dangerous.
• When refilling the tank always turn o the engine first and take a
careful look around to make sure that there are no sparks or open
flames anywhere nearby before refuelling.
• If any fuel spillage occurs during refuelling, use a dry rag to wipe up
spills before turning the engine back on.
• After refuelling, screw the fuel cap back tightly onto the fuel tank and
then carry the hedge-trimmer to a spot three meters or more away
from where it was.

• Failure to follow all Safety Rules and Precautions can result in serious
injury.

WARNING! - The blade is very sharp, using this machine
inappropriately is extremely dangerous. Never use this hedge trimmer,
when under the influence of alcohol, when suering from exhaustion
or lack of sleep, when suering from drowsiness as a result of having
taken cold medicine or at any time when the possibility exists that your
judgment might be impaired.
WARNING! - Never use the hedge-trimmer in circumstances like the
following described
• When the ground is slippery or when other conditions exist which
might make it not possible to maintain a steady posture while using.
• At night, at times of heavy fog, or at any other time when your field of
vision might be limited and it would be diicult to gain a clear view
of the area.
• During rain storms, lightening storms, at times of strong or gale force
winds or at any other times when weather conditions might make it
unsafe to use this product.
• When using this product for the first time, before beginning actual
work, you should practice in a wide, light place.
• Lack of sleep, tiredness or physical exhaustion results in lower
attention spans, and this in time can lead to accidents and injury, limit
the amount of time which the hedge-trimmer is to be used
continuously to somewhere around thirty to forty minutes. Ensure the
user has rest intervals for at least ten to twenty minutes. Also try
to keep the total amount of work performed in a single day under two
hours or less.
• Be sure to keep this manual handy so that you may refer to it later
whenever any questions arise.
• Always be sure to keep this manual while selling, lending, or
otherwise transferring the ownership of the product.

CHECK BEFORE USE
IMPORTANT! - Before beginning work, look around carefully to get a
feel for the shape of the land, or plants to be trimmed, and whether or
not there is any obstacle which might get in the way while working, and
remove any obstacle which can be cleared away.
• The area within a perimeter of fifty meters of the person using the
hedge-trimmer should be considered a hazardous area into which
no one should enter while the hedge-trimmer is in use. When work
is to be performed simultaneously by two or more persons, always
check the presence and location of others so as to maintain a
distance between each person suicient to ensure safety.
• Before starting, please inspect the machine, make sure that the fuel
tank, blade, and machine are in good condition. Be especially
careful to check that there is nothing wrong with the blades or with
the joints by which the blades are attached to the hedge-trimmer.
• When the blades wear and the clutch assembly is worn or
damaged, please stop and replace worn parts.
• Make sure that the handle and protective cover are in good
condition.
STARTING THE ENGINE
• While starting the engine make sure the area around you is safe
to do so.
• The machine has a centrifugal clutch, the blades should not
move at idle. Only when the speed is up to a certain value when
the throttle is engaged will the blade begin to move
WARNING! - Do not set the throttle at high speed when starting.
OPERATION
• Keep your hand tight on the handle, and keep in the correct
position.
• If the blade starts to click, stop quickly, restart machine after
cleaning the blades.
• Do not touch the spark plug while the engine is running.
CAUTION! - After using your hedge trimmer, never touch the
exhaust, spark plug and other metal parts (these parts will get hot!)
to prevent injury.

MAINTAIN YOUR UNIT PROPERLY
• Have all maintenance other than the recommended procedures
described in the instruction manual performed by an authorized
service dealer.
• Disconnect spark plug before performing maintenance except for
carburettor adjustments.
• Use only recommended ParkerBrand replacement parts; use of any
other parts may void your warranty and cause damage to your unit.
• Empty fuel tank before storing the unit. Use up fuel left in carburet-
tor by starting engine and letting it run until it stops.
• Do not use any accessory or attachment other than those
recommended by manufacturer for use with your unit.
• Do not store the unit or fuel in a closed area where fuel vapours can
reach sparks or an open flame from hot water heaters, electric
motors or switches, furnaces, etc.
• Store in a dry area out of reach of children. Secure the machine
during transport.
WARNING:- It is very dangerous to change or modify the machine
yourself. Please understand that you will not be entitled to any
protection if your machine has been changed or modified in anyway
which is not addressed in your Owners Manual.
SAFETY NOTICE
Exposure to vibrations through prolonged use of petrol powered hand
tools could cause blood vessel or nerve damage in the fingers, hands,
and joints of people prone to circulation disorders or abnormal swelling.
Prolonged use in cold weather has been linked to blood vessel damage
in other-wise healthy people. If symptoms occur such as numbness,
pain, loss of strength, change in skin colour or texture, or loss of feeling
in the fingers, hands, or joints, discontinue the use of this tool and seek
medical attention. An anti-vibration system does not guarantee the
avoidance of these problems. Users who operate power tools on a
continual and regular basis must monitor closely their physical
condition and the condition of this tool.

STARTING PROCEDURE
1INSPECT HEDGE TRIMMER
Check the Hedge Trimmer is not damaged and all
components are in good working order before use.
Regular periodic inspection is required to ensure
the Hedge Trimmer is suitable for the task.
Before using the Hedge Trimmer a risk assessment
should be carried out respecting the legislation in
the country of use.
This Hedge Trimmer is not supplied with any oil within the engine, there is only trace left from testing.
The fuel for this machine must be mixed with 2 stroke oil at a 40:1 ratio (Petrol:Oil)
Do not start the machine without adding oil to the fuel first, this will damage the engine beyond repair.
PRE-OPERATION

Fuel is a highly flammable liquid.
Always refuel in a well ventilated area away from any heat sources.
Never fuel the machine whilst the engine is running.
1FILL WITH FUEL
Fill the machine with 2 stroke oil at a 40:1
ratio (Petrol:Oil). Use the fuel mixing bottle provided.
Remove the fuel cap and fill carefully. Take care not
to spill fuel whilst filling, use a pouring spout or
funnel to help prevent spillages. Replace and
secure the cap afterwards.
2PRIME ENGINE
Prime the machine by utilising the primer bubble.
Press on the primer bubble 8 - 10 times or until the
bubble is full of fuel. You may see an air bubble at
the top this is normal.

5PULL START
Place the machine on a secure, firm, flat surface.
Pull the starter cord slowly until you feel the
resistance. Pull the starter cord quickly until the
machine starts. Allow the engine to run for 1 - 2
minutes to warm up.
Avoid letting go of the starter recoil on start up as it can potentially break the recoil handle.
Be aware that weather conditions and altitude may eect the carburettors eiciency.
A flooded engine can be rectified by removing the spark plug and drying it.
When restarting the engine immediately after stopping it, leave the choke open.
6RUN ENGINE
Run the engine at idle speed until operating
temperature is reached (2 to 3 minutes).
As the engine warms up, open the choke gradually
by slowly pushing the choke down to the ‘OPEN’
position. The machine will now be ready for use.
When starting the machine from warm move
the choke into the open position.
Push the lever backwards towards the rear
handle of the machine.
SETTING THE CHOKE
The On/O switch is located on the handle
of the machine.
The switch is spring loaded and its default
position is 'On(I)'.
3ON/OFF SWITCH
When starting the machine from cold move
the choke into the closed position.
Push the lever forward towards the blades of
the machine.

Avoid stopping the engine while pulling the throttle trigger.
Don not touch metal parts of the machine after use (i.e. exhaust) they get extremely hot!
1RELEASE THE THROTTLE
Release the throttle trigger and safety lever and
allow the machine to idle.
2ON/OFF SWITCH
Press the ON/OFF switch into the 'OFF(0)' position.
This will stop the engine of the machine.
The switch is spring loaded and will return to the
default 'On(I)' position.
Depress the safety lever on the top of the handle to
unlock the throttle trigger.
8ENGAGE THROTTLE
Do not allow anyone near to the Hedge Trimmer while working.
With the throttle trigger unlocked you can now use
the throttle which will activate the cutting blades.

HOW TO USE THE HANDLE
HOW TO USE THE HANDLE
First pull the locking lever located on the base of
the handle. This frees the handle and allows you to
turn it from its default position.

1DEFAULT POSITION
The Hedge Trimmer handle is fully adjustable and
can be adjusted to suit each individual task to be
undertaken. This makes the machine more
comfortable to use. The machine is supplied with
the adjustable handle in its default position. The
handle can be adjusted by 45° or a full 90° in
either direction.
Never adjust the angle of the handle whilst the machine is in use and running. Make sure that the handle has locked into position before starting and using the machine.
To turn the handle in a clockwise direction to the
two locking positions. Repeat the process from the
previous step.
43 ANTI-CLOCKWISE HANDLE POSITIONS
Whilst pulling the locking lever turn the handle in
an anti-clockwise direction. Once the handle has
moved from its default position release the locking
lever. Continue turning the handle until the handle
clicks into place. The first locking position is at a
45° angle. To continue to the 90° angle pull the
locking lever again, turn the handle, release the
locking lever then turn until it clicks into position

WARNING!
Before performing any maintenance on this machine, stop the engine
and disconnect the spark plug cap.
• Remove dirt and debris from the exterior of the machine.
• Inspect the engine, tank and hose for possible fuel leaks, and repair
where needed.
• Inspect the engine cooling fins for build up of dirt or debris, and clean
as necessary.
• Inspect the entire machine for damage, loose or missing components
or fastenings, and repair as necessary.
AIR FILTER
Once the machine has been run for 25 hours, please remove the filter
outside cover, and then clean the inner dirt. When the filter element is
dirty, please use warm water, clean, allow to dry completely and
re-assemble. The obstructive filter will reduce the power of the engine.
Never start or run the engine without an air filter attached to the engine.
FUEL FILTER
Once the machine has been run for 25 hours, take the filter from the fuel
tank for cleaning. The obstructive filter will reduce the engine speed.
Remove the filter with clip, to prevent dust and fibre entering the fuel tank.
SPARK PLUG
After 25 hours use it is possible that carbon deposits could build up on
the spark plug. Remove the spark plug with the tool provided and clean
with a steel brush. Use a feeler gauge to check the clearance of spark
plug is 0.6 - 0.7mm.
GEAR BOX
Once the machine has been run for 20 hours, grease needs to be added
to the gear box. Please use a grease pump from the machines inlet.
BLADE
Every 1 - 2 hours when the machine is in use, grease should be added to
the blade. For setting or sharpening please contact ParkerBrand.
MUFFLER
After the machine has been used for 50 hours, please remove the
exhaust, clear the inner carbon deposits with screw driver, at the same
time clean the carbon collected on the outlet pipe. Refit and tighten every
screw.
STORAGE (LONG PERIODS)
Upon storing the machine for extended periods please follow the
following instructions carefully
INSPECTION
Inspect the entire machine and tubes for damage, including loose or
missing components, and repair as necessary. Apply anti-rust oil to the
metal parts such as the throttle wire to stop rust or corrosion. Put the
cover on the blade and store indoors or in a dry place when not in use to
avoid the machine from corroding.
CLEANING
When cleaning the machine, inspect every part for damaged or loose
parts, if any are found please fix or replace before next planned use.
Thoroughly clean the machine exterior
FUEL
Drain the fuel tank and then clear the carburettor and fuel pipes by
running the machine until it runs dry of petrol. Do not tighten the fuel cap
too much, this will cause damage to the sealing ring
LUBRICATION
Remove the spark plug, and then pour approximately 1/4-oz of 2 stroke
oil into the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Before reinstalling the
spark plug, pull the recoil starter 2 or 3 times to distribute the oil over the
cylinder walls.
CAUTION!
Never allow dirt or debris to enter the cylinder bore. Before removing
the spark plug, thoroughly clean the plug and cylinder head area. Allow
the engine to cool before servicing the spark plug. DO NOT tighten
or loosen the spark plug while the engine is hot! Incorrect spark plug
installation can result in serious engine damage.
AIR FILTER
Remove, clean and reinstall the filter element.

your product against defective material or damage for period of a minimum of 12 months from the
date of purchase. A proof of purchase must be provided with the product.
If any fault is caused by defective materials or the quality of the build, repair will be carried out free
of charge. However, this guarantee does not apply in the case of normal wear and tear.
This includes items such as recoils, starting mechanisms, spools, carburettors, blades and the like.
