Pi Dock-It Pro is an integrated full-size re-chargeable Bluetooth keyboard/case designed to
securely hold the iPad 2 and new iPad in both laptop-mode and tablet-mode. It can also serve
as a charging station and a vertical stand for the iPad .
With your iPad in place you can use all of your regular iPad functions,plus enjoy re-directed
audio,charge your iPad and even use the virtual keyboard if you wish.

To open the Pi Dock-It Pro, position the device with the front edge toward you.
Press on the case latch button at the back edge of the Pi Dock-It Pro on the right
side.
Lower the Dock-It Pro lid covering the keyboard. Slide the lid away from you until
the lid is flush with the front of the Dock-It Pro and it latches.

Unlike a laptop that has a lid that lifts up, the Pi Dock-It Pro slides open. While
holding down the slide release button, slide the lid toward you until it is fully
extended and clicks into place.
Once fully extended, lift the lid until
is rests against the base. The
keyboard will be exposed in

With the Dock-It Pro open (see “Open your Pi Dock-It Pro” above) and in laptop
mode, hold the iPad in landscape (horizontal) orientation with the iPad “Home”
button facing toward the left. Rest the bottom edge of the iPad on the bottom
lip of the Dock-It Pro lid and gently tip the iPad back into the lid and press the
top two corners of the iPad until it snaps securely in place.
With the Pi Dock-It Pro in lap-top-mode Figure 1(c), position the iPad in portrait
orientation and rest the iPad on the lip at the bottom of the Pi Dock-It Pro lid. The
Pi Dock-It Pro keyboard will be fully operational.
With the Pi Dock-It Pro open (see “Open your Pi Dock-It Pro” above) in laptop
mode, tilt the Pi Dock-It Pro lid forward slightly.
With the Pi Dock-It Pro open (see “Open your Pi Dock-It Pro” above) in
laptop-mode and resting safely on a flat surface, use your finger or thumb to press
down on the iPad release latch, located on the left edge of the Pi Dock-It Pro lid.
Using your other hand, rest a finger on the upper edge of the iPad at the cut-out
in the Pi Dock-It Pro frame and gently pull the iPad forward from the Pi Dock-It
Pro frame and lift the iPad out.

Press on the lower left or lower right corner of the Pi Dock-It Pro lid to release the
lid from the frame. Alternatively, place your fingers behind the lower right or left
corner of the Pi Dock-It Pro and press towards you. Once the lid is unlatched,
gently tilt the Pi Dock-It Pro toward you slightly and rotate / spin the lid
180-degrees until the back of the Pi Dock-It Pro lid is facing you.
Tilt the Pi Dock-It Pro lid fully forward, Lowering the Pi Dock-It Pro lid over the
keyboard.
Slide the lid back until it securely latches into tablet mode. The physical keyboard
will automatically will be disabled and the virtual keyboard will automatically be
active.
With the Pi Dock-It Pro in tablet-mode, press the Slide Release Button to release
the Pi Dock-It Pro lid.
Lift the lid until the lid is standing vertically.
Slide the lid forward until fully extended.

To angle the Pi Dock-It Pro for ergonomic comfort, with the Pi Dock-It Pro in
laptop-mode, reach underneath the Pi Dock-It Pro and unlatch the kickstand.

Use Pi Dock-It Pro as an iPad charging stand
Press on the lower left or lower right corner of the Pi Dock-It Pro lid to release the
lid from the frame. Alternatively, place your fingers behind the lower right or left
corner of the Pi Dock-It Pro and press towards you. Once the lid is unlatched, tilt
the Pi Dock-It Pro toward you slightly and rotate / spin the lid 180-degrees until the
front of the Pi Dock-It Pro lid is clicked into laptop mode.
Insert the micro-USB connector of the charging cable provided with the Pi Dock-It
Pro into the charging port. Insert the USB connector into the USB port on the Apple
iPad 10W USB power adapter (supplied with the iPad ).
With your iPad out of the Pi Dock-It Pro case, insert the iPad dock connector
(supplied with the iPad ) into the iPad 30-pin port. Insert the iPad into the Pi
Dock-It Pro by holding the iPad in landscape (horizontal) orientation with the
iPad “Home” button facing toward the left.
Rest the bottom edge of the iPad on the bottom lip the Pi Dock-It Pro lid and
gently tip the iPad back into the lid and press the top two corners of the iPad
until it snaps securely in place. Plug the iPad connector into the iPad ’s 10W USB
power adapter and then into the standard power outlet. Your iPad battery will
charge while resting in the Pi Dock-It Pro in either laptop or tablet mode.

Sync Pi Dock-It Pro Bluetooth keyboard with
your iPad
With the Pi Dock-It Pro open (see “Open your Pi Dock-It Pro” above) in
laptop-mode and resting safely on a flat surface.
Step 4 – Select “General “ from the setting menu
Step 5 – Select “Bluetooth ” from the General menu
Step 6 - Switch Bluetooth soft-key to the “On” position
Step 7 – Select “Bluetooth Keyboard”
Step 8 –Once paired, a digital box with a window with the message “Bluetooth
Keyboard” would like to pair with your iPad . Enter PIN code “XXXX” on
“Bluetooth Keyboard”, followed by the return key.
Step 1 – Power on the Bluetooth keyboard by pressing the “Power” key,
first top row key on the right
Step 2 – Initiate pairing of the Bluetooth keyboard to the iPad by
pressing the Bluetooth Sync key
With your iPad out of the Pi Dock-It Pro case, insert audio headphone connector
into your iPad audio port. Insert the iPad into the Pi Dock-It Pro by holding the
iPad in landscape (horizontal) orientation with the iPad “Home” button facing
toward the left. Rest the bottom edge of the iPad on the bottom lip of the Pi
Dock-It Pro lid and gently tip the iPad back into the lid and press the top two
corners of the iPad until it clicks securely in place.

Step 1 - Power on the Bluetooth® keyboard by sliding the power switch on the
back of the Dock-It Pro to the right.

Step 7 - Select “Pi Dock-It Pro” in the Now Discoverable Devices section
Step 8 - A dialog box with a 4 digit code will be displayed. Type this code, followed by
the return key, on the Dock-It Pro keyboard. You are now sync’ed.

Step 9 - Using the Pi Dock-It Pro keyboard, enter the 4 digit code and press “Enter/
Return”.
Your iPad is now synced with the Pi Dock-It Pro and you’re ready to type using the
Pi Dock-It Pro keyboard. The iPad General Setting screen will show “Bluetooth
Keyboard” as “Connected.

Home Key
Will copy selected text to the clipboard within applications that accept
keyboard input, such as Notepad, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Word,
Excel, etc. Some applications also support copying of graphics and
other items.
Copy Key
Will paste text or other items from the clipboard, such as any text that
has been copied by using the copy button.
Paste Key
Takes you to the browser search on your iPad
Search Key
Makes the screen less bright.
Decrease Brightness (-) Key
Makes the screen brighter.
Increase Brightness (+) Key
Brings up your photos and advances presentation slides.
Slide Show-Photos- Key
Toggles between Pi Dock-It Pro physical keyboard and iPad ’s virtual
keyboard.
Virtual Keyboard Key
Rewinds your media when viewing.
Rewind Media Key
Plays and pauses your media viewing.
Play/Pause Key
Fast forwards your media viewing.
Fast Forward Key
Toggles between silenced audio and the currently set volume.
Mute Key
Lowers the current volume setting on your iPad
Decrease Volume (-)Key

Lock Key
Puts your Pi Dock-It Pro keyboard into discoverable mode to allow it to
