gaining a complete understanding of the functions and features offered by your
ceramic hob.
Please take special note of all detailed warnings, cautions, and usage instructions,
as failure to abide by these may effect any product warranty claims.

Read carefully and keep for future reference
• Any installation of this or any other Parmco Appliances hob must be carried out by a
qualified technician and in accordance with the relevant New Zealand Standards relating to
electric ceramic and Induction hobs.
• Check the hob for any damage that may have been caused during transport. Never
install a damaged appliance. If you discover any damage, please contact Parmco Appliances.
• Before connecting the appliance to the mains power supply, make sure that the voltage
and current indicated on the rating plate correspond to the characteristics of the power
supply you will be using. The rating plate is located under the hob and must never be
removed or damaged!
• The electrical safety of this appliance is only guaranteed when it is connected to an
electrical system fitted with an approved earth circuit. Make sure this fundamental
safety requirement is observed.
• This appliance must be installed by a qualified fitter to all relevant New Zealand installation,
wiring and building regulatory codes.
• Do not modify this difference in any way.
• Do not let children play with the appliance.
• Never use the hob if the power cable is damaged, it may only be replaced by a qualified
technician.
• Do not insert or remove any plug from the socket with wet hands as you may receive
an electric shock.
• Never tug the cable when removing any plug from the mains socket.
• Repairs and maintenance may only be performed by specialised personnel after first
disconnecting the appliance from the mains power supply. Incorrect repairs may put
users in serious danger. Always contact a specialised dealer for all repairs.
• If any components should deteriorate, only replace them with original components.
• Never introduce solvents into the hob as these may cause explosions.
• Some kinds of packing material (e.g. plastic bags, polystyrene) can be a source of
danger for children. They must therefore be kept away from them.
• When you wish to dispose of the appliance, make sure it cannot be used before having
it demolished by specialised companies in compliance with current laws.
• Do not spray Aerosol in the vicinity of this appliance while it is operating.
• Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on the hob
surface as they may get hot
• After use, switch off the hob element by its control and don’t rely on the pan detector
• The appliances is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate
• Persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge should not use the hob, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance
remote control system.
CAUTION: To avoid a hazard, under bench access must be restricted. Refer to the
installation instructions for details.
WARNING: If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibility of
electric shock.
Parmco Appliances declines any responsibility should this hob not be installed in
accordance with the regulations in force or the breaching of any of the above warnings.

IMPORTANT NOTE
It is the law in New Zealand that this appliance must be installed by authourised
persons. The installation must comply with all the appropriate New Zealand
Standards and Regulatory Requirements with particular reference to the New
Zealand Electrical Standards.
Any attempt to install this or any other Parmco product without an
authourised person could result in damage to the product and a possible
health hazard. Not having an authourised person install this appliance may
result in all associated warranties from Parmco Appliances being null and
void.

SPECIFICATIONS
Working Principle
The HO-4 Parmco hob employs sophisticated microcomputer technology. This controls all aspects of
the hobs heating and timing requirements. The heat resistant wiring ensures longevity, while the
advanced heating technology provides all the benefits ceramic cooking can offer.
Excessive Heat Protection
Sensors mounted in the hob itself monitor temperature on each hotplate. Should excessive heat occur
under any circumstances, then your ceramic hob will automatically disconnect the elements and cease
the power supply.
Residual Heat Indicators
After you have used the hob, residual heat will remain for sometime as the hob cools, during this time
an “H” will be displayed to warn of heat still being omitted.
Auto shut down protection
If the hob reaches it’s set time limit the corresponding element will automatically shut off. If more than
one element is in use, then all elements will cease operation when anyone element reaches it’s set limit.
These limits are shown in the table below.

1. Cut a hole in the table surface according to the size shown in the drawing. For the purpose of installation and use,
a minimum of 50-mm space shall be preserved around the hole. Be sure the thickness of the table surface is at least
30mm. Please select heat-resistant surface material to avoid deformation caused by the heat. As shown in Figure (1)
2. Ensure the ceramic hob is well ventilated and the air inlet and outlet are not blocked. Ensure the ceramic hob is
in good work state. As shown in Figure (2)
3. Fix the hob on the table by screw four brackets on the bottom of hob (see picture) after installation.
Adjust the bracket position to suit for different tabletop thickness.

1. The ceramic hob must only be installed by a qualified technician.
2. The hob shall not be mounted to cooling equipment, dishwashers and rotary dryers etc.
3. To avoid any damage, the benchtop and adhesive must be made of suitable heat resistant properties
4. A steam cleaner is not to be used.
5. If this hob is to be installed above a draw or cupboard a protective board able to withstand 120°C must be
installed underneath with minimum clearance of 25mm. The 5mm air exit gap in the front of the cabinetry
(refer fig.2) is required.
4 Power connection
The socket shall be connected according to the relevant standard or connected to a single-pole cut-out. 30A
minimum supply. The method of connection is shown in Figure (3):
The installer must ensure that the correct electrical connection has been made and that it complies with ALL
relevant electrical compliance’s and New Zealand standards.
If the cable is damaged and needs to be replaced, the operation must be only carried out the by an authorised
person. If the appliance is being connected directly to the mains an omnipolar circuit breaker must be installed
with a minimum opening of 3mm between contacts.
The installer must ensure that the correct electrical connection has been made and that it complies with New
Zealand standards. The cable must not be bent or compressed. The cable must be checked regularly and
replaced by authorised technicians only.

After turning the hob on, the buzzer will beep once, all indicators will light up for 1 second then go out, this
indicates the hob is active, it will now go into standby mode.
Operation Instructions:
Switch on the ceramic hob Press the “On/Off” key, the hob go to standby mode, all the indicator shows “-”.If the
ceramic plate is hot, the indicator shows “-” and “H” alternately.
Press the “-” or “+“ to decrease or increase the power level. If the power level returns to 0, the zone switches off.
Note: 1. In standby working mode, press the “ON/OFF ” key the hob switch off.
2 . Press the “On/Off ” key, if no any other action within 1minutes,the hob switch off.
3. Every heating zone is independent each other.
Double loop function
If you want to use bigger heating zone, press the “Double loop” key when the zone is in the working mode.
Note: 1.The function is available in the 1# and 2# heating zone.
2.You can change the power level from 1 to 9.
3. When the Double loop function is available, the corresponding indicator shows “= “

Timing function
Cooking Timer
1. Select one cooking zone by pressing the “-” or “+” of the corresponding heating zone
2. The cooking zones display light will now flash
3. Adjust timer by using the +/- buttons of timer,
4. After the timer indicator display has flashed for 5 seconds, the timer is confirmed.
You will find a red dot display at the cooking zone indicator you selected. It reminds you this cooking zone is set
with a timer setting. When the cooking timer expires, the corresponding cooking zone will be switched of

automatically. Please Note: The cooking timer only works with one cooking zone at a time
Minute Minder
The timer can also be used as a standard minute minder.
1. Active the timer by pressing “+”or ”-” key, the display shows "00"
2. Adjust the timer by pressing the +/-key,
Note: A single touch of the +/-key will increase or decrease the time by 1 Minute, by pressing and holding the +/-
key you can adjust time by 10 Minutes.
3. Once the desired time is selected release the +/-key
4. After 5 seconds, the display will stop flashing and the minute reminder will start to count down.
5. The Buzzer will beep for 30 seconds when the set time is reached and the display shows "--",
Please Note: The hob will operate as normal once the minute minder expires.
Timing Cancellation
If press the "+" and "-" simultaneously.
Lock function:
To ensure the safety of children, the hob has a lock functionality.
Activating the lock function:
When the lock is deactivated, touch the “Lock” key to activate, the timer indicator now shows “Lo”. The rest
keys disabled except the "ON/OFF" key.
Deactivating the lock function:
When the hob in the locking mode, you can deactivate the lock function by holding the “lock” key for a while.

Safety Reminding and Maintenance
Do not put any detergents or flammable materials in the equipment installed under the ceramic
hob.
Metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons and lids should not be placed on the hotplate since
they can get hot.
Ensure all sealed foods such as canned goods are opened before heating
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Parmco. Contact Parmco Appliances to find
out more.
Do not place rough or uneven appliances, which may damage the ceramic surface.
If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance immediately. Contact Parmco
Never wash the hob with water directly.
Never run the hob without cooking pots on it, otherwise its performance maybe affected and
damage may occur
After being used for a prolonged period, the corresponding heating zone of the hob will remain hot
Never touch the ceramic surface directly.
Keep this electrical appliance out of reach of children or infirmed persons. Do not let them use the
appliances without supervision.
Indoor domestic use only
Clean the ceramic hob on a regular basis to prevent foreign matter from causing damage and
affecting performance.

The Warranty:
• Subject to the terms and conditions contained within this
warranty, if the product is not of Acceptable Quality (as
defined in the Consumer Guarantees Act) within 5 years
of the date of original purchase, then Parmco Sales
undertakes to repair or, at it’s sole discretion, replace the
product.
• The warranty does not cover the costs of transport,
mileage or travelling time if the product is located beyond
30km of a recognised Service Agent.
• This warranty is offered as an extra benefit, and does not
affect other legal rights, which can not be modified or
excluded by agreement.
• This warranty only applies to goods supplied and
installed in the North and South Islands of New Zealand.
•
The provisions of this warranty are in addition to the
rights and remedies available to consumers under the
Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
The Warranty is not valid:
• If the product is not installed and operated in accordance with
the operating instructions.
• If the product is not installed to comply with the electrical, gas,
plumbing and other Regulations and Codes of Practice in New
Zealand.
• If the product is operated on voltages or frequencies outside the
normal range for domestic appliances in New Zealand.
• If the product is not used in normal domestic use, or if it is used
in a business as defined in the Consumer Guarantees Act.
• If any serial number has been removed or defaced.
• If proof of date of purchase is not supplied, except at the sole
discretion of Parmco Sales. Proof of purchase can be for the
product itself, or if installed with a kitchen or house then proof of
purchase can be from a Parmco reseller of products supplied by
Parmco.
Liability under this warranty will not be accepted for:
• Wear and tear from normal domestic use.
• Damage in transport.
• Damage caused to the product by neglect, abuse, negligence,
wilful act or misuse.
• Any defect caused by accident, misuse, neglect, tampering with
or unauthorised modifications of the appliance or any attempt at
internal adjustment or repair by any person other than an
Authorised Service Agent.
• Service calls that relate principally to the following:
• Instruction on how to use the product.
• Repair or replacement of house fuses, electrical wiring, gas
fitting or plumbing.
• Wear and tear caused by normal use of the product.
• Normal or scheduled maintenance including blocked filters or
ducting.
• Consumable items such as light bulbs.
• Any damage to ceramic glass hobs caused by spills when
cooking.
• Any breakage or damage of glass items.
• Any damage caused by non recommended product used for
cleaning, maintaining, lubricating or similar.
• Any aspect relating to the installation of the product, or damage
caused during installation.
•
Any third party (including reseller) or consequential loss or
damage (direct or indirect) however arising.
