InAugust1996,theU.S.FederalCommunicationsCommission(FCC)adoptedRFexposureguidelines
withsafetylevelsforhand‐heldwirelessdevices.Theseguidelinesareconsistentwiththesafety
standardspreviouslysetbybothU.S.andinternationalstandardsbodiesinthefollowingreports:
•ANSIC95.1(AmericanNationalStandardsInstitute,1992)
•NCRPReport86(NationalCouncilonRadiationProtectionandMeasurements,1986)
•ICNIRP(InternationalCommissiononNon‐IonizingRadiationProtection,1996).
YourdevicecomplieswiththestandardssetbythesereportsandtheFCCguidelines.
InordertocomplywithFCCRFexposureguidelines,usersmustuseabodywornaccessorythat
containsnometal(snaps,clips,etc.)andprovidesatleast2.2cmofseparationbetweentheusersbody
andtheunit.DoNOTusethedeviceinamannersuchthatitisindirectcontactwiththebody(i.e.,on

AbsorptionRate,orSAR.TheSARlimitsetbytheFCCis1.6W/kg,exceptforhandsandfeetinwhich
theSARlimitsetbytheFCCis4.0W/kg.TestsforSARareconductedusingstandardoperatingpositions
specifiedbytheFCCwiththedevicetransmittingatitshighestcertifiedpowerlevelinalltested
frequencybands.AlthoughSARisdeterminedatthehighestcertifiedpowerlevel,theactualSARlevel
ofthedevicewhileoperatingcanbewellbelowthemaximumvalue.Becausethedeviceisdesignedto
operateatmultiplepowerlevelstouseonlythepowerrequiredtoreachthenetwork,ingeneral,the
closeryouaretoawirelessbasestationantenna,thelowerthepoweroutput.

Beforeadevicemodelisavailableforsaletothepublic,itmustbetestedandcertifiedtotheFCCthat
itdoesnotexceedthelimitestablishedbythegovernment‐adoptedrequirementforsafeexposure.
ThetestsareperformedinpositionsandlocationsasrequiredbytheFCCforeachmodel.Thehighest
testedSARvalueforthismodeldevicewhenwornonthebody,inaccordancewiththisTermsof

ElectricalSafety
1. ChargethePeekdeviceusingonlythechargingaccessoryprovidedorspecificallyapprovedbyPeek
Inc.,forusewiththisdevice.Useofanyotheraccessorymightinvalidateanywarrantyprovided
withthedeviceandmightbedangerous.
2. Usethechargingaccessoriesprovidedwiththedeviceoranyotherapprovedchargingaccessories
onlyfromthetypeofpowersourceindicatedonthemarkinglabel.Beforeusinganypowersupply,
verifythatthevoltageisinaccordancewiththevoltageprintedonthepowersupply.
3. Donotoverloadwalloutletsandextensioncordsasthismightresultinariskoffireorelectric
shock.Toreducetheriskofdamagetothecordortheplug,pulltheplugratherthanthecord
whenyoudisconnectthechargingaccessoryfromthewalloutlet.
4. Unplugchargingaccessoriesduringlightningstormsorwhenunusedforlongperiodsoftime.

BatterySafetyandDisposal
1. ThePeekdevicecontainsaremovablelithium‐ionbattery.Donotdisposeofeitherthedeviceor
thelithium‐ionbatteryinafire.Disposeofthelithium‐ionbatteryinaccordancewiththelawsand
regulationsgoverningdisposalofsuchcelltypes.
2. Thelithium‐ionbatterymightpresentafireorchemicalburnhazardifmistreated.Donot
disassemble,crushorpuncturethelithium‐ionbattery.Donotexposethebatterytotemperatures
higherthan60°C(140°F).Donotallowmetalobjectstocontactthebatteryterminals.

DeviceDisposal

AntennaCare
1. Useonlythesuppliedoranapprovedreplacementantenna.Unauthorizedantennas,modifications,
orattachmentscoulddamagethedeviceandmayviolateFederalCommunicationsCommission
(FCC)regulations.
DrivingSafety
1. Checkthelawsandregulationsregardingtheuseofwirelessdevicesintheareaswhereyoudrive.
Alwaysobeythem.Also,ifusingthePeekdeviceinyourcar,pleaseusethefollowingminimum
guidelines:
a. Giveyourfullattentiontodriving;drivingsafetyisyourfirstresponsibility.
b. Pullofftheroadandparkbeforecheckingyouremail.
2. PeekrecommendsthatyoudonotusethePeekdevicewhiledriving.
Accessories
1. UseonlythoseaccessoriesapprovedbyPeek.UsinganyaccessoriesnotapprovedbyPeekforuse
withthisparticularPeekdevicemodelmightinvalidateanywarrantyapplicabletothedevice,
mightresultinthenon‐operationofthedevice,andmightbedangerous.
OperatingandStorageTemperatures
1. KeepthePeekdeviceordeviceaccessoriesawayfromexcessivemoistureandextreme
temperatures.DonotleavethePeekdevice,deviceaccessoriesorthelithium‐ionbatteryinsidea
vehicleorinplaceswherethetemperaturemayexceed60°C(140°F),suchasonacardashboard,
windowsill,orbehindaglassthatisexposedtodirectsunlightorstrongultravioletlightfor
extendedperiodsoftime.Thismaydamagetheproduct,overheatthebattery,orposearisktothe
vehicle.
2. Pleasefollowthefollowingoperatingandstoragetemperatureslistedbelow:
a. Deviceandchargeroperating:0to50°C
b. Deviceandchargerstorage:‐10to60°C
InterferencewithElectronicEquipment
1. MostmodernelectronicequipmentisshieldedfromRFsignals.However,certainelectronic
equipmentmightnotbeshieldedagainsttheRFsignalsfromthePeekdevice.
a. Pacemakers:Consultaphysicianorthemanufacturerofyourpacemakerifyouhaveany
questionsregardingtheeffectofRFsignalsonyourpacemaker.Ifyouhaveapacemaker,
verifythatyouareusingthedeviceinaccordancewiththesafetyrequirementsassociated
withyourparticularpacemaker.

b. Hearingaids:Somedigitalwirelessdevicesmayinterferewithsomehearingaids.Inthe
eventofsuchinterference,consultyourserviceproviderorcontactthemanufacturerof
yourhearingaidtodiscussalternatives.
c. Aircraft:FederalAviationAdministration(FAA)andFCCregulationsprohibitusingwireless
deviceswhileintheair.TurnthePeekdeviceoffbeforeboardingtheaircraft.Theeffectof
usingthePeekdeviceinanaircraftisunknown.Suchusemightaffectaircraft
instrumentation,communicationandperformance,mightdisruptthenetwork,might
otherwisebedangeroustotheoperationoftheaircraft,andmightbeillegal.
DangerousAreas
1. TurnthePeekdeviceoffwheninanyareawithapotentiallyexplosiveatmosphere,andobeyall
signsandinstructions.Sparksinsuchareascouldcauseanexplosionorfireresultinginbodilyinjury
orevendeath.
2. Areaswithapotentiallyexplosiveatmosphereareoften,butnotalways,clearlymarked.They
includefuelingareassuchasgasolineorpetrolstations;belowdeckonboats,fuelorchemical
transferorstoragefacilities;vehiclesusingliquefiedpetroleumgas,suchaspropaneorbutane;
areaswheretheaircontainschemicalsorparticles,suchasgrain,dust,ormetalpowders;andany
otherareawhereyouwouldyouwouldnormallybeadvisedtoturnoffyourvehicleengine.
Service
1. OnlyqualifiedservicepersonnelshouldperformrepairstothePeekdevice.
2. Donotattempttodisassemblethedeviceoranychargingaccessory.
3. Unplugthedevicefromtheelectricaloutletandreferservicingtoanauthorizedservicetechnician
orproviderunderthefollowingconditions:
a. Liquidhasbeenspilledoranobjecthasfallenintotheproduct.
b. Theproducthasbeenexposedtorainorwater.
c. Theproducthasbeendroppedordamaged.
d. Therearenoticeablesignsofoverheating.
e. Theproductdoesnotoperatenormallywhenyoufollowtheoperatinginstructions.
Cleaning
1. Donotuseliquid,aerosolcleaners,orsolventsonornearthedeviceordeviceaccessory.Clean
onlywithasoftdrycloth.Unpluganychargingaccessoriesfromtheelectricaloutletbefore
cleaningeitherthedeviceorthechargingaccessory.

LiquidsandForeignObjects
1. NeverpushobjectsofanykindintothePeekdeviceordeviceaccessoriesthroughopeningsasthis
actionmightshortcircuitpartsandcauseafireorelectricshock.Donotusethedeviceordevice
accessoriesnearwater.Neverspillliquidofanykindonthedeviceordeviceaccessories.
