1. Installingthedriver forWindows98:
(Forwindowsoperatingsystem ME/2000/XPorgreater, youneednotinstall thedriver,please skip thisstep.)
Insert the installation CD-ROMintothe CD-ROMdriveand driverinstallation willstart.
The windows98 Driverwillbe finished installation untilthe last windowshowout.
2. Connecting PC
Beforeoperation,pleaseverifythe playeristurned off, and one end ofthe USBcablecamewiththe systemisinserted intoPC
withanotherend intothe MP3player.
Onceyou connecttoyourcomputer,if yourplayerdisplays<*USB RDY*>,then the USB connection isoperational.
3. Download MP3songs
Anewdrivewill showinyourcomputer,you can copyyouraudiofiles(inMP3orWMAformat)toyourplayerand the download
statuswill bedisplayed asfollows.
4. RemovingUSBdevice
1. Doubleclickthe SafelyRemoveHardwareicon intaskbar:
2. FromSafelyRemoveHardwarescreen, highlight"USB Mass Storage Device"item,then click "Stop"button.
3. Click"OK"button.Afterthe "SafetoRemoveHardware"windowappears, the playercan be disconnected fromPCsafely.
Warning:Anerrormightoccurif removetheconnectionofthe USBcablewhen transferringdata.Afterdatatransferred and “Safe
toremovehardware ”windowappearedthe playercan be removed fromPCsafely!
ThisMP3NOT supportFORMAT bycomputer,itwill notfunctionalifyouuse yourcomputer toformatit.
Ifyoupress modestick whenMP3connected to computer, theMP3willdisconnectandyou canoperateitwithout
battery, yourcomputer USBportwillbeapower source.

MP3Operation
Turning thepower on/off
You can press the button 2secondstoturnon the MP3player, the playerwillpoweron withthe “Pengo”logo displays.
Press the button 3seconds, the playerwillsavethe dataand enterthe poweroffmode.
KeyLock Function
Turnon the holdswitchand the screen willshowout , you must unlock itinordertooperateyourMP3player.
EnterMENU andselectfunction
Afterturnon the MP3playeryou willsee the mainmenu. Rollstick toselectthe function you wantand
press button (inthemiddleof the rolling wheel)toenterthe functionyou selected thereare:
Musicplayer ,VoiceRecord ,Voiceplayer ,FMradio ,System Setting
ØAfteryou turnthe MP3off normally,the playerwill rememberthe lastfunction you selected.
PlayingMP3music
1.Enterthe Musicplayer mode.you couldsee the following musicplayermode: no. of songs, song timer, fileformat and
the ID3 Tag display.
2.Whenyou press button,the currenttrackwillbe playedasshown above.
3.Ifyouwant toselect previous/nextsong, Rolling stick toselect the previoussong orthe next song.
4.The musicwillpauseifyou press .
5.Rolland pressing tofastforwardorfast backward.
6.Ifyouwant go back tomainmenu,pleasepress and hold2secondsthen releaseit.
7.Whenthe musicisNOTplaying, you can press oncetoviewfolderlist, you can choosethe folderbyrollingstick
and pressit togetintothe folderthen press button togo back tomusicplaymode.

EQ ModeandRepetitionMode
Whenthe musicisplaying,you can press the oncetoenterthe sub menu, roll toselectEqualizerorRepeat
setting and press button toenterthe setting.
1.InEQ setting,pleaseroll toselect EQmode: Natural） Rock） Pop） Classical） Soft）Jazz）
DBB）and press the button tosavethe selected EQmode.
2. Repeat setting:

You couldcontrolthe volumebypressing VOL+/VOL-button.Thevolumestepswillincreaseordecreasewhenthe VOL+/VOL-
button ispressed correspondingly.
Voice RecordingFunction
1.SelectVoiceRecordfunction inthe menu. and press toenter.
2.Press toenterthisfunction,the MP3playerwillreadytorecord.
3.Press tostart recording,press topauseand press and hold2secondstostop recording and savefile.
Ifthe shows “Lisfisfull”,then you shouldchange othermenu, becausethereareno morethan 99 filesinf.
Whenvoiceisrecording .only “Play”buttonisvalid.
Playback recordedvoice
1.SelectVoiceplayerfunction inthe menu. and press toenter.
2.Press toenterthisfunction, then press toplay.
Goback toMusicPlayermode
Whenyouinothermode, if youwant toenjoythemusic, youcanpress and holditformorethan 2secondsandrelease
it, when you see the mainmenu , then roll toselect MusicPlayerinthe menu , then press .

FMradio(frequencymodulationmode)
1.SelectFMradiofunction inthe menu. and press toenter.
2.You can rolling tochoosestation byfrequency orpress toselectpreset stations.
3.Automaticallybrowsestations. Rolland hold key2seconds, the playerwillbrowseforwardorback wardatthe speed of
100KHZ, and stop atthe exist channel,if you want stop, roll once.
4.SaveFMstation toPreset:
Aftermakeselection thechannel, press ,rollitto then press tosaveit.You can saveup to20
channels.
5.FMrecording.Aftermakeselection the frequency and press key, rollittochooserecordmode then
press ,the unitwillstarttorecord. If you want topausethe recording, pleasepress . If you want tostop recording,
pleasepress .
SettingOptions
SelectSystemSetting function inthe menu and press toenter. Roll tochoosesettingsand press to
get intothe settings. Ineachsetting,you can roll toselect the optionsand press toconfirmyourselection. If you
want canceland back toSetting menu,you maypress .

Press “Vol+”or “Vol-”toset year/month/dayand roll tochange it.
2. Back Light
You can setup howlong the backlightwilllastaccordingtoyourdemands.You mayroll choosetoturnoffthe backlightorlet
the backlighton for3, 6,9, 12,15,secondseachtimethebutton ispressed.
3. Language
You can select English, simplified Chinesecharacter（GB2312）, and traditionalChinesecharacter（Big5）,Korean, Japanese,
German,French,Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, Polish.
4. Power Off
“Powersavemode”: you can set atime “seconds”toclosethe player,when set “0”showsthe Functionsisnotvalid.
“Sleeping mode”:you can set atime “seconds”toclosethe player,itisgood forlisteningmusicBeforesleep.Note: you should
set sleeping mode foreverytime.
5. Replay mode
“Manualreplay”: indicateyou can set thestop point byyourself during A-B replaying
“Autoreplay”: indicatethe stop pointcan be set automaticallyduring A-Breplaying (suitforThe recitation withoutmusic)
6. Contrast
You can adjust the contrast level1to16.
7. Memory info
It showsthe totalmemory percentage indicatesthe rateofmemoryused.

Due tothe timercounterofthe VBRMP3Musichasadifferent fromthefixed compression ratefile.
The timerdisplayof the VBRfilewillvarywithdifferent compression rate.
6Some MusicFilecan tplay
Pleasecheck the following:
a.MP3fileshouldbe inMPEG 1Layer3.
b.MP3filesplayback withmultiplebit-ratesand sampleratessupported (5Kbps~384Kbps)

c.ThisMP3can not playlicenseprotected filedownload frominternet, pleasemakesureyourfilewithout anycopy
protection.
7BadSong Problem
a. The songsarenot completeddownload fromPC(sudden disconnection the USBcable).
b. The MP3songsarenot inMPEG1Layer3.
8USBConnectionProblem
Pleasecheck the following:
1)The cableconnection between the PCand playerislooseand bad contact.
2)Neverdisconnect the cableinprogress ofthe filesdownloading between PCand player(it will causethe somebad
