General
This infrared receiver can be wired into powered devices (such as a door opener) so it can
be operated by sending an infrared signal from an environmental control device.
•This infrared receiver is an eight-channel receiver with eight voltage-free relay
switches.
•The receiver can be programmed with all Permobil infrared codes. Each channel has
a specific address, which can easily be programmed
•The receiver relays can independently be set for bistable (latching - continuous) as
well as monostable (non-latching - temporary) function.
oMonostable - Temporary: the output remains closed as long as the receiver
receives a command (can be compared with a push button).
oBistable - Continuous: the situation of the output (open/closed) changes each
time a command is received (can be compared with a switch).
•The receiver module is equipped with 8 direct control buttons. This allows switching
a channel without the need of an infra red transmitter. This is very helpful during
installation, testing or access by a third.

Installation of the Receiver
This infrared receiver needs to be installed in a dry place by a skilled technician who is
familiar with installing home automation devices.
All electrical connections are done using connectors. This minimizes the installation time
and provides a fast switch of the module in case a replacement is necessary.
•Mount the receiver with the connectors down using the Mounting Holes.
•The receiver has eight voltage-free relay switches which are connected with a
removable terminal block. Max resistive load 1A at 24 V DC/AC or inductive load
0.5 A at 24V DC. When connecting inductive load for instance motors and relays,
an interference suppression device should be used.
•Connect the supplied power supply (9VDC). The receiver accepts 9..24V (voltages
above 15V are not recommended because of excessive power consumption).
•Internal 36kHz Carrier Receiver (0.35mW/msensitivity)
•Possibility to connect a remote infra red sensor using the 3.5mm jack connection.
REMARK: For switching higher tensions or higher power, do always use an
auxiliary relay (e.g. for switching mains voltage).

Configuration of the Receiver
The receiver can be configured in a way that each channel responds to a unique infra red
code. At the same time each channel can be set as monostable (non-latched) or bistable
(latched) output.
How do we enter configuration
mode?
•Remove power from the
module.
•Press the S button while
powering on the module.
•The red LED will light up.
How to define a channel?
1. Press the button (I1 .. I8) of the channel that needs to be set. If you want to define
the latching mode, you also have to push S.
2. Now send the desired code with an infra red transmitter. The green LED of the
receiver will light up.
3. Stop sending the infra red code and release the button(s) of the receiver. The
channel is now programmed.
4. Repeat step 1 to 3 for the remaining channels.
5. Remove power from the module.
Does it work?
•Power up the module (do not press button S!). You now entered normal operation
mode.
•Press button I1 to I8 to close the switch of the associated channel. This is useful for
testing. The green LED will always light up when a switch is closed.
•Send an infra red code. If configured correctly, the corresponding switch will close.
Troubleshooting?
•If the red LED flashes, the module is defective and needs to be returned for repair.
