*) Factory setting
In extensive ARCNET networks, delay of data signals
due to cable delays and cycle times of hubs plays a role.
Since the deterministic ARCNET protocol contains
timeout tests, the maximum delay between two time-
sharing devices must not exceed the defined values.
… If you have any questions regarding extensive
ARCNET networks, please contact your local
Pfeiffer Vacuum representative.

DANGER
Caution: line voltage
Incorrectly grounded products can be extre-
mely hazardous in the event of a fault.
Use only a 3-conductor power cable with pro-
tective ground. The power connector may
only be plugged into a socket with a protec-
tive ground. The protection must not be nulli-
fied by an extension cable without protective
ground.

5 Operation
The product is ready for operation as soon as it has
been installed.
The network is ready for operation as soon as all sta-
tions are active and work properly.
The lamps on the back side of the OPA 200 network
controller board allow the diagnosis (→[1]).
Status Description
Data transfer between PC and network control-
ler board.
The network controller board is not addressed
due to a mismatch of the configuration with the
PC setup or the software driver.

Status Description
Network operating (optical connections o.k.
and partner nodes in operation).
Data transfer on the network.
Network tries to reconfigure. Possible reasons
for trouble:
• optical connections interrupted or defective
• Wrong distance setting (maybe at partner
nodes)
• Stray light on open nod receiver
PC is switched off, controller board not properly
installed or defective.
