ALIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
ALIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS-READ CAREFULLY BEFORE ATTEMPTINGALIGNMENT
Allow 15 minutes for receiver and test equipment to warm up. There should bea goodbondbetween chassis and test equipment.
Connect the deflectionyoke and speaker during alignment.
Do not remove the horizontal oscillator tube(V15) to disable the high voltage. The high voltage leadshould be securelytaped and keptawayfrom the
chassis. The IF shieldmust bein place.

Setthe contrast and brightnesscontrol fully counter clockwise.
Connect the negative lead ofa 14 volt bias supply thru 10KS7 to point <^> . Connect the positive lead to chassis.
Setthe channel selector to channel 4 position.
Attenuate generator duringalignment for4 volts peak to peak at point <B> .
Connect the synchronizedsweepvoltagefrom the sweep generator tothe horizontal input ofthe oscilloscope for horizontal deflection.

open endofthe lead from the tuner.Remove V3 from its socket. Adjust scopecontrols so that the width is double the height.
Connect the synchronizedsweepvoltage from the sweepgenerator tothe horizontal input ofthe oscilloscope for horizontal deflection.
The sweepgenerator output leadshould be terminated with its characteristic impedance,usually SOSi.

Repeat step 19 to be sure channel 6(8 SMC)

similar to Fig. 5. Remove 68n resistor
and reconnect IF coupling link. Remove
bias supply and reconnect AGC lead to tuner
terminal.
VIDEO PEAKING COIL ADJUSTMENT
In cases of excessiveovershooting or smear on some stations, itmaybe necessary to adjust A2B. Alignment ofthe tuner andIF portions or the
receiver must be correct before this adjustment is made. Proper adjustment ofA28isthe point of minimum smear and trailingwhites.
After adjusting A28onone channel,check others to make certain picturequality hasnot beenaffected.
