Introduction
◗With your new Satinelle super sensitive you can remove
unwanted hairs quickly and effectively in an extra-gentle way.
◗The new double-active pain softener relaxes your skin like a
massage, thereby more effectively masking the sensation of
epilation.As a result, you will hardly feel any pain.
◗The rapidly rotating epilating discs catch even the shortest hairs
(even as short as half a millimetre!) and quickly remove them by
the root.As a result, your skin stays smooth for up to four weeks
and regrowth is soft and downy.

Important
Read these instructions for use carefully before using the appliance and
save them for future reference.
◗Check if the mains voltage indicated on the adapter plug
corresponds to the local mains voltage before you connect the
appliance.
The appliance is suitable for 220-240V/50-60Hz/4W.

◗Make sure the appliance does not come into contact with water.
◗To prevent damage and injuries, keep the running appliance away
from your hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, clothes, threads, cords,
brushes etc.
◗Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
◗Only use the appliance in combination with the adapter plug
supplied.
◗If the adapter plug of this appliance is damaged, it may only be
replaced with an adapter plug of the original type.Turn to your
Philips dealer or the Philips Customer Care Centre in your
country for replacement.
◗Do not expose the appliance to temperatures lower than 5cC or
higher than 35cC.
◗Do not use the epilating head on irritated skin or skin with
varicose veins, rashes, spots, moles (with hairs) or wounds
without consulting your doctor first. People with a reduced
immune response, e.g. during pregnancy, or people who suffer
from diabetes mellitus, haemophilia or immunodeficiency should
also consult their doctor first.
◗Your skin may become a little red and irritated the first few times
you use the epilator.This phenomenon is absolutely normal and
will quickly disappear.As you use the appliance more often, your
skin will get used to epilation, skin irritation will decrease and
regrowth will become thinner and softer. If the irritation has not
disappeared within three days, we advise you to consult a doctor.
◗Regular massages with a loofah may help to prevent ingrowing
hairs. Do not use the loofah immediately before or after epilation.

Using the appliance
General information about epilation
◗Epilating with the Satinelle super sensitive will leave your skin
smooth and hair-free for weeks.As epilation may cause skin
irritation or ingrown hairs in some women, we advise you to read
the text below.

◗When you use the appliance for the first time, we advise you to
try it out on an area with only light hair growth to get
accustomed to the epilation process.
◗After epilation you can apply a mild cream or body milk to
soothe your skin and reduce skin irritation.
◗Epilation is easier just after taking a bath or shower. Make sure
your skin is completely dry when you start epilating.
◗We advise you to epilate before going to bed at night, as this will
allow any skin irritation that may develop to diminish overnight.
How to use the epilator
◗Make sure your skin is clean, entirely dry and free from grease.
Do not use any cream before you start epilating.
1Put the adapter plug (J) in the wall socket.
2Insert the appliance plug (H) into the inlet socket (G) (fig. 2).
3Remove the protective cap (A) (fig. 3).
4Switch the appliance on by pushing the on/off slide (F) to the
desired speed setting.
Select speed I (fig. 4) for areas with little hair growth and for areas
where bones are located directly beneath the skin, such as knees and
ankles. Select speed II (fig. 5) for larger areas with stronger hair growth.
5Stretch the skin with your free hand to make the hairs stand
upright (fig. 6)
6Place the epilating head (D) perpendicularly onto the skin so that
the epilating head (D) and the pain softener (E) are in proper
contact with the skin.
7Move the appliance slowly, with the pain softener (E) pointing
forwards, against the direction of hair growth. Do not exert any
pressure.
8Stretch your leg when you are epilating the back of your knee.

9Switch the appliance off by pushing the on/off slide (F) to O (fig. 7).
Shaving
You can use the shaving head (C) to shave delicate body parts, such as
your underarms and bikini line. With the shaving head you will obtain a
smooth result in a comfortable and gentle way.
To be able to mount the shaving head, you will first have to remove
the pain softener (E) (fig. 8).
1Switch the appliance off.
2Slide the pain softener for epilating legs (E) off the appliance with
your thumbs (fig. 8).
3Remove the epilating head (D). Grab the epilating head by the
ribbed sections and move it in the direction of the arrow
indicated on the epilating head (fig. 9).
4Place the shaving head (C) on the appliance and move it against
the direction of the arrow indicated on the shaving head until it
snaps home (fig. 10).
The shaving head can only be fitted onto the appliance in one way.
5Switch the appliance on.
Use the shaving head only at speed I to get the best results (fig. 4).
6Place the trimmers and the shaving foil of the shaving head onto
your skin and move the appliance slowly and smoothly against the
direction of hair growth, while pressing it lightly (fig. 11).
Cleaning
Do not use any corrosive detergents, scouring pads or cloths, petrol,
acetone etc. to clean the appliance. Regular cleaning and maintenance
guarantee the best results and a long life for your appliance.
1Switch the appliance off and pull the adapter plug (J) out of the
wall socket.

2Remove the epilating head (D). Grab the epilating head by the
ribbed sections and move it in the direction of the arrow
indicated on the epilating head (fig. 9).
3Clean all accessible parts and the epilating discs (D) with the
brush (L) (fig. 12).
Never try to remove the epilating discs from the epilating head (D).
4Place the epilating head (D) on the appliance and move it against
the direction of the arrow indicated on the epilating head until it
snaps home.
The epilating head (D) can only be fitted onto the appliance in one way.
Cleaning the shaving head (C)
1Remove the shaving foil (fig. 13).
2Clean the hair chamber and the cutter block with the brush (K).
Do not exert pressure on the shaving foil to avoid damaging it.
Storage
1Put the protective caps (A and B) back onto the epilating head
and the shaving head after use (fig. 14).
2Put the appliance and its accessories in the bag supplied with the
appliance.
Maintenance and replacement
◗Shaving head: rub a drop of sewing machine oil onto the trimmers
and shaving foil of the shaving head (C) twice a year.
◗If you use the appliance two or more times a week, replace the
shaving foil (type HP6115) and the cutter block (type HP2911)
after one or two years or if these parts are damaged.
