This Quick Start Guide applies
when:
- Your TV set is fitted with anHDMI socket input.
- Youalready have one satellite antenna installed.
- Your antenna is fitted with one universal LNB.
- Your antenna is already pointed at the ASTRA 19.2°
East satellite.
- Youonly want to install all channels broadcast onthe
ASTRA 19.2° East satellite.
Before connecting
Disconnect your TV set from the mains.
If youare a Premiere subscriber, pull to openthe flap,
theninsert your smart card inthe smart card slot of
the receiver with the contacts facing up.
Inserting batteries
Insert the two batteries supplied inthe remote control

Connecting
Connect the cable from the satellite dish to the SAT IN
socket at the rear of the receiver.
Connect the supplied HDMI cable to the TV set HDMI
socket input and to the HDMI socket at the rear of the
receiver.
Connect the supplied SCART cable to the EXT1 socket
(also called EURO AV1 or INPUT1) of the TV set and
to the EXT1 socket at the rear of the satellite receiver.
Plug the TV mains cord into the mains. Switch onthe
TV set and select the appropriate HDMI input
(refer to the user manual of your TV set).
Do not plug the satellite receiver to the mains
now.

Searching channels
Plug the satellite receiver mains cord to the mains.
The receiver display indicates , then
.The welcome screenshould be displayed
onthe TV screen.
Press V-Output once.The receiver display should
indicate .

Whenand the welcome screenare not
displayed, proceed to chapter 8 of the user manual to ins-
tall the satellite receiver with the TV set not filled with
HDMI.
Press P+ thenP-.Wait for a few seconds
for the First Installation screen
to appear, then:
• Select your favourite language.
• Select your country.
- Check the bar graph displayed on
screenfor adequate signal strength and
quality.
Press OK to start searching for channels onAstra 19.2°
East. During the search, a bar graph indicates the
channel search progress. It may take up to 20 minutes.
It is so to ensure the receiver will not miss out on
channels.
Once the scanhas beensuccessfully completed, a comple-
tionmessage is displayed.
Press OK to save the channels.
A new screenappears, with a message
indicating that a search for new, upgraded
software is inprogress:
Whenanupgrade is detected, press
the greencolor key thenOK
to start the upgrade.
It will last about 30 minutes.
The process bar is shownonthe
front display.
Whenno upgrade is detected, press EXIT
to continue the installationprocess.
At the end of the installation, the receiver tunes to
channel 100 inthe mainTV list.
Volume control
Yo ur remote control is set to perform volume control
through a Philips TV set. If youhave a TV from another
brand, refer to paragraph 15.3 of the user manual to
adapt the brand setting of your remote control to your
TV set.
Switching from watching digital TV
to listening to digital radio
- Press TV/RADIO to toggle betweenTV set and
digital radio.
Changing channels while watching
digital TV or listening to digital
radio
Using the number keys of the remote control
- Dial a number to tune the corresponding channel.
Using the P+ or P- key
- Press P+ to tune the next channel.
- Press P- to tune the previous channel.
Using channel lists
To select a channel from a channel list:

- Press LIST to display the current
channel list
- Press LIST repeatedly to display
the desired list whenyouwant
to select a channel from another
list.
- Select the channel youwant using
the or keys. Use the or when
youwant to scroll one page up or
down.
- Press OK to preview the channel on
the right hand side of the screenor
listento the selected radio channel.
- Press OK to watch the programme in
full screen.
Empty favourite lists cannot be opened.
Volume control
Refer to chapter 16.2 inthe user manual.
Yo ur remote control is set to perform volume control
through a Philips TV set. If youhave a TV from another
brand, refer to paragraph 15.3 to adapt the brand setting of
your remote control to your TV set.
Electronic Programme Guide (EPG)
While watching digital TV or listening to digital radio:
- Press EPG to consult the current pro-
gramme.
- Use or keys to select the desired
EPG view.
- Use or keys to select the desired
programme.
- Press EPG or EXIT keys to exit the
EPG.
Viewing teletext
- Press TEXT to openteletext.
- Use number keys to select a page.
- Press TEXT to exit.

Troubleshooting
Problem Remedy
The display on the front panel does not light up. Check that the mains cord is correctly connected.
Disconnect this cord and reconnect it to ensure it is in place.
Check that power is available at the wall socket.
No sound or picture but the front panel Check the connections.
displays a channel number Check the connection at the LNB and between the LNB and
the receiver, or adjust the dish.
Adjust the dish pointing. Check the signal level from the
Antenna Setup menu.
Poor picture Adjust the dish pointing.
The remote control does not operate Make sure the receiver is on.
your receiver Check the remote control mode is set to STB.
Make sure you are pointing the remote control at the receiver front panel.
Check the batteries of your remote control.
