wOOxTechnology™
Philips patented wOOx Techonolgy ensures superior bass
results. The dual suspension bass radiator, together with
dedicated amplifier circuitry, is especially designed to
produce and handle high dynamic sound signals at very low
frequencies. Because of the dual suspension, the excursion
of the membrane can be extreme (see illustration). This is in
combination with the symmetrical sandwich construction,
provides for very low and precise bass without noticeable
distortion. The net effect of using wOOxTechnology is a tight
bass sound that is significantly "lower and louder" than
conventional mini shelf systems.
3-Step wOOx Level Control
As the human ear does not perceive low frequencies at the
same level as higher frequencies (though at the same
"volume"), the bass sound needs to be enhanced to achieve
maximum impact. The wOOx is progressively driven at
different optimization levels in setting wOOx 1,2 and 3.
Gameport
With the growing demand for game consoles, we will see a
similar increase in the need for a complete entertainment
system that can give enhancement to the sound quality of
games. Gameport allows users to connect their game
console to the Philips Mini Hi-Fi system to enjoy a total
game immersion experience by having powerful sound
output. Through the Game Sound Mode, the user can also
select the type of sound setting to best suit the game
currently on play;i.e.Blast for Explosive and Shooting games;
Punch for games with lots of kicks and punches and Speed
for games which involves high speed driving and flying. The
Game Mix function (MIX-IT) allows users to mix their game
sound to their favorite music from CD, Radio Stations or an
external source such as Portable CD,MP3 Player,etc.
