This LCD/LED product has a high number of

Read and understand all instructions before you
use yourTV. If damage is caused by failure to
follow instructions, the warranty does not apply.
Safety
Risk of electric shock or re!
• Never expose theTV to rain or water.
Never place liquid containers, such as
vases, near the TV. If liquids are spilt on or
into theTV, disconnect the TV from the
power outlet immediately. Contact Philips
Consumer Care to have theTV checked
before use.
• Never place theTV, remote control or
batteries near naked ames or other heat
sources, including direct sunlight.To prevent
the spread of re, keep candles or other
ames away from the TV, remote control
and batteries at all times.
• Never insert objects into the ventilation
slots or other openings on theTV.
• Never expose the remote control or
batteries to rain, water or excessive heat.
• Avoid force coming onto power plugs.
Ensure that the power plug is fully inserted
into the power socket. Loose power plugs
can cause arcing or re.
• When theTV is swiveled, ensure that no
strain is exerted on the power cord. Strain
on the power cord can loosen connections
and cause arcing.
• To disconnect the TV from the mains
power, the power plug of theTV must be
disconnected.When disconnecting the
power, always pull the power plug, never
the cord. Ensure that you have full access
to the power plug, power cord and outlet
socket at all times.
Risk of damage to the TV!
• Two people are required to lift and carry a
TV that weighs more than 25kg or 55lbs.
• When stand mounting theTV, use only the
supplied stand. Secure the stand to the TV
tightly. Place the TV on a at, level surface
that can support the combined weight of
theTV and the stand.
• When wall mounting theTV, use only a
wall mount that can support the weight
of theTV. Secure the wall mount to a wall
that can support the combined weight
of theTV and wall mount.TPVision

for improper wall mounting that results in
accident, injury or damage.
• If you need to store theTV, disassemble
the stand from theTV. Never lie theTV on
its back with the stand installed.
• Before you connect the TV to the power
outlet, ensure that the power voltage
matches the value printed on the back
of theTV. Never connect theTV to the
power outlet if the voltage is different.
• Parts of this product can be made of
glass. Handle with care to avoid injury and
damage.
Risk of injury to children!Follow these
precautions to prevent theTV from toppling
over and causing injury to children:
• Never place theTV on a surface covered
by a cloth or other material that can be
pulled away.

Risk of swallowing batteries!
• The product/remote control may contain a
coin type battery, which can be swallowed.
Keep the battery out of reach of children
at all times!
Risk of overheating!
• Never install the TV in a conned space.
Always leave a space of at least 4 inches
or 10 cm around theTV for ventilation.
Ensure that curtains or other objects never
cover the ventilation slots on theTV.
Risk of injury, re or power cord damage!
• Never place theTV or any objects on the
power cord.
• Disconnect theTV from the power outlet
and aerial before lightning storms. During
lightning storms, never touch any part of
theTV, power cord or aerial cable.
Risk of hearing damage!
• Avoid using earphones or headphones at
high volumes or for prolonged periods of
time.
Low temperatures
• If theTV is transported in temperatures
below 5°C or 41°F, unpack theTV and
wait until theTV temperature matches
room temperature before connecting the
TV to the power outlet.
Screen care
• Risk of damage to theTV screen! Never
touch, push, rub or strike the screen with
any object.
• Unplug theTV before cleaning.
• Clean theTV and frame with a soft damp
cloth. Never use substances such as
alcohol, chemicals or household cleaners
on theTV.
• To avoid deformations and color fading,
wipe off water drops as soon as possible.
• Avoid stationary images as much as
possible. Stationary images are images that
remain onscreen for extended periods of
time. Stationary images include onscreen
menus, black bars, time displays, etc. If you
must use stationary images, reduce screen
contrast and brightness to avoid screen
damage.
Disposal of your old product and
batteries
Your product is designed and manufactured
with high quality materials and components,
which can be recycled and reused.
When this crossed-out wheeled bin symbol is
attached to a product it means that the product
is covered by the European Directive 2002/96/
EC. Please inform yourself about the local
separate collection system for electrical and
electronic products.
Please act according to your local rules and
do not dispose of your old products with your
normal household waste.

When you use the remote control, hold it close
to theTV and point it at the remote control
sensor. Make sure that the line-of-sight between
the remote control andTV is not blocked by
furniture, walls or other objects.

4 Use your TV
This section helps you perform basic TV
operations.
Switch your TV on
• Press the power switch on the TV.
» There is a short delay before the TV
responds.
If the TV is in standby
• Press (Standby-On) on the remote
control.
Switch your TV to standby
• Press (Standby-On) on the remote
control again.
» The remote control sensor on theTV
switches to red.
POWER
Switch your TV off
• Press the power switch on the TV again.
» The remote control sensor on theTV
switches off.
» Though theTV consumes very little
power when in standby, energy
continues to be consumed.When not
in use for an extended period of time,
disconnect theTV power cable from
the power outlet or turn off the power
switch.
Note
•If you cannot locate your remote control and want
to switch on theTV from standby, press CH on
theTV.
Switch channels
• Press CH+ or CH- on the remote control.
• Press CH on theTV.

• Enter a channel number using the Numeric

• Press on the remote control to return

•When you use a favorite list, you can only select those

You can view all available channels with the
channel grid.
1 Press OK or LIST.
» The channel grid appears.
2 Press to select a channel.
3 Press OK to watch the selected channel.

Access TV menus
Menus help you to install channels, change
picture and sound settings and access other
features.
1 Press .
» The menu screen appears.
1 Select one of the following, then press OK.
• [Watch TV]: If a source other than
antenna is selected, switch back to the
antenna source.
• [Browse USB]: If a USB device is
connected, access the content browser.
• [Scenea]: Switch on Scenea wallpaper.
• [Add new device]: Add new devices to
the home menu.
• [Setup]: Access menus to change
picture, sound and other settings.
2 Press to exit.
Add device to the home
menu
After you connect a device, add it to the home
menu.
1 Press .
2 Select [Add new device].
3 Follow the on-screen instructions to add
the device to the home menu.
» The device is displayed in the home
menu.
4 To watch the device, switch it on, then
select it in the home menu.
5 You can also select the device with the
source button. (see 'Select a device from
the source list' on page 10)
Rename devices from the
home menu
After you add a new device to the home menu,
you can rename it to your preference.
Note
• The device name can be up to 16 characters long.
1 Press .
2 Select a device to rename.
3 Press OPTIONS.
» The options menu appears.
4 Select [Rename device], then press OK.
» A text input box appears.
5 Select characters, then press OK to
confirm.
• Press [abc] to change uppercase
letters to lowercase and vice versa.
6 When the new name is complete, select
[Done], then press OK.
Remove devices from the
home menu
If a device is no longer connected to the TV,
remove it from the home menu.
1 Press .
2 Select a device to remove.

Change picture and sound
settings
Change picture and sound settings to suit your
preferences. You can apply pre-dened settings
or change settings manually.
Note
•While you watchTV or external devices, press
ADJUST , then select [Smart picture] or
[Smart sound] for quick access to picture and sound
settings.
Use settings assistant
Use the settings assistant to guide you through
the picture and sound settings.
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [Quick picture and
sound settings], then press OK.
3 Select [Continue], then press OK.
» The [Settings assistant] menu appears.
4 Follow the on-screen instructions to
choose your preferred picture settings.
Use smart picture
Use smart picture to apply pre-dened picture
settings.
1 While you watchTV, press ADJUST.
2 Select [Smart picture].
3 Select one of the following settings, then
press OK.
• [Personal]:Apply your customized
picture settings
• [Vivid]: Rich and dynamic settings, ideal
for daytime.
• [Natural]: Natural picture settings.
• [Cinema]: Ideal settings for movies.
• [Game]: Ideal settings for games.
• [Energy saving]: Settings that conserve
the most energy.
• [Standard]: Default settings that suit
most environments and types of video.
• [Photo]: Ideal settings for photos.
• [Custom]: Customize and store
your personal picture settings. Select
[Personal] to apply these settings.
Manually adjust picture settings
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [TV settings] > [Picture],
then press OK.
3 Select one of the following settings, then
press OK.
• [Smart picture]: Access predened smart
picture settings.
• [Reset]: Reset to factory default settings.
• [Contrast]:Adjust the intensity of backlight
areas, while the video contents are kept
unchanged.
• [Brightness]:Adjust the intensity and
details of dark areas.
• [Color]:Adjust color saturation.
• [Sharpness]:Adjust sharpness in the image.
• [Noise reduction]: Filter and reduce noise
in an image.
• [Tint]:Adjust the color balance in an
image.
• [Custom tint]: Customize tint setting.
(Only available if [Tint] > [Custom] is
selected)
• [Digital Crystal Clear]/[Pixel Plus HD]:
Fine-tune each pixel to match surrounding
pixels.This setting produces a brilliant, high-
denition image.
• [HD Natural Motion]: Minimize
juddering effects and enhance picture
smoothness.

• [Advance sharpness]: Enable superior
picture sharpness.
• [Dynamic contrast]: Enhance contrast.
[Medium] setting is recommended.
• [Dynamic backlight]: Adjust brightness
of theTV backlight to match lighting
conditions.
• [Color enhancement]: Make colors
more vivid and improves the details
in bright colors.You can switch this
feature on or off.
• [Gamma]: Adjust the midtone intensity
in the picture. Black and white are not
affected.
• [Picture format]: Change the picture
format.
• [Screen edges]:Adjust the viewing area.
(when set to maximum, you may see noise
or rough edge of an image).
• [Picture shift]:Adjust the picture position
for all picture formats except for [4:3],
[Unscaled], and [Wide screen].
Change picture format
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [TV settings] > [Picture],
then press OK.
3 Select [Picture format], then press OK.
4 Select a picture format, then press OK.
Summary of picture formats
The following picture settings can be congured.
Note
•Depending on the format of the picture source, some
picture settings are not available.
[Super zoom]: (Not
for HD and PC mode.)
Remove the black bars on
the side of 4:3 broadcasts.
There is minimal distortion.
[4:3]: Show the classic 4:3
format.
[Unscaled]: For HD and
PC mode only, and in
selected models only. Allow
maximum sharpness. Some
distortion may be present
due to the broadcaster's
systems. Set your PC
resolution to wide screen
mode for best results.
[Subtitle zoom]: Displays
4:3 pictures over the full
area of the screen with
subtitles visible. Part of
the top of the picture is
clipped off.
[Movie expand 14:9]: (Not
for HD and PC mode.)
Scales 4:3 format to 14:9.
[Movie expand 16:9]: (Not
for HD and PC mode.)
Scale 4:3 format to 16:9.
[Wide screen]: Scale 4:3
format to 16:9.
Use smart sound
Use smart sound to apply pre-dened sound
settings.
1 While you watchTV, press ADJUST.
2 Select [Smart sound].
3 Select one of the following settings, then
press OK.
• [Personal]:Apply the settings that
were customized in the sound menu.
• [Standard]: Settings that suit most
environments and types of audio.
• [News]: Ideal settings for spoken audio,
such as news.
• [Cinema]: Ideal settings for movies.
• [Game]: Ideal settings for games.
• [Drama]: Ideal settings for drama
programs.
• [Sports]: Ideal settings for sports
programs.

• [Bass]:Adjust the bass level.
• [Treble]:Adjust the treble level.
• [Surround]: Switch on spatial sound.
• [Auto volume leveling]:Automatically
reduce sudden volume changes, for
example, when switching channels.
• [Balance]:Adjust the balance of the right
and left speakers.
Use advanced teletext
features
Access the teletext options menu
Access the teletext features through the
teletext options menu.
1 Press TEXT.
» The teletext screen appears.
2 Press OPTIONS.
» The teletext options menu appears.
3 Select one of the following options, then
press OK.
• [Freeze page]/[Unfreeze page]: Freeze/
unfreeze the current page.
• [Dual screen]/[Full Screen]: Switch
between full screen and dual screen
teletext.
• [Enlarge]/[Normal view]: Switch
between enlarged and normal view of
teletext pages.
• [Reveal]: Hide or reveal hidden
information on a page, such as
solutions to riddles or puzzles.
• [Cycle subpage]: If subpages are
available, automatically display each
subpage in sequence.
Select teletext subpages
A teletext page can contain several subpages.
Subpages are displayed next to the main page
number.
1 Press TEXT .
» The teletext screen appears.
2 Press CH+/- to select a teletext page.
3 Press or to enter a subpage.
Use Teletext 1.5
IfTeletext 1.5 is broadcast by a channel, it is
switched on by default.
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [TV settings] >
[Preferences] > [Teletext 1.5].
3 Select [On] or [Off], then press OK to
conrm.
Create and use list of favorite
channels
You can create a list of your preferredTV
channels so that you can nd those channels
easily.
View only the list of favorite channels
1 While you watchTV, press LIST.
» The channel matrix menu is displayed.
2 Press OPTIONS.

3 Select [Select list] > [Favorites], then
press OK.
» Only channels in the favorites list
appear in the channel grid.
Note
•The favorites channel grid is empty until you add
channels into the favorites list.
View all channels
You can exit the favorites list, and view all
installed channels.
1 While you watchTV, press LIST.
» The channel matrix menu is displayed.
2 Press OPTIONS.
3 Select [Select list] > [All], then press OK.
» All channels are displayed in the
channel grid.
Note
•All favorite channels are marked by an asterisk, when
you view the channel grid.
Manage the favorites list
1 While you watchTV, press LIST.
» The channel matrix menu appears.
2 Press OPTIONS.
3 Select [Select list] > [All], then press OK.
4 Press OPTIONS.
5 Select [Mark as favorite] or [Unmark as
favorite], then press OK.
» The channel is added or removed from
the favorite list.
Note
•All favorite channels are marked by an asterisk in the
channel grid.
Display the TV clock
You can display a clock on theTV screen,
showing the current time.
Set the TV clock manually
To set the clock manually:
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [TV settings] >
[Preferences] > [Clock].
3 Select [Time] or [Date], then press OK.
4 Press the Navigation buttons to set the
time or date.
5 Select [Done], then press OK.
6 Press MENU to exit.
Note
•If you turn off the mains power, you will need to set the
clock again after switching on the power again.
Display the TV clock
1 While you watchTV, press OPTIONS.
» The options menu is displayed.
2 Select [Clock], then press OK.
» The clock is displayed.
Note
•To disable the clock, repeat the procedure.
Use timers
You can set timers to switch the TV to standby
at a specied time.
Tip
•Set theTV clock before you use timers.

Automatically switch the TV to
standby (sleep timer)
Sleep timer switches theTV to standby after a
pre-dened duration.
Tip
•You can switch off yourTV earlier or reset the sleep
timer during the countdown.
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [TV settings] >
[Preferences] > [Sleep timer].
» The [Sleep timer] menu appears.
3 Select a value between zero and 180
minutes.
» The sleep timer can be set in steps
of ten minutes. If you select zero, the
sleep timer switches off.
4 Press OK to switch on the sleep timer.
» TheTV switches to standby after the
specied time.
Lock unsuitable content
You can prevent your children from watching
certain programs or channels by locking theTV
controls.
Set or change code
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [Channel settings] >
[Child lock].
3 Select [Set code] or [Change code].
» The [Set code] / [Change code] menu
appears.

create or change your PIN code.
Tip
•If you forget your code, enter ‘8888’ to override any
existing codes.
Lock or unlock one or more channels
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [Channel settings] >
[Child lock] > [Channel lock].
» A list of channels is displayed.
3 Select the channel that you want to lock or
unlock, then press OK.
» The rst time you lock or unlock a
channel, you are prompted to enter
your PIN code.
4 Enter your code and press OK.
» If the channel is locked, a lock icon
displayed.
5 Repeat the process to lock or unlock more
channels.
6 To activate the locks, switch theTV on and
off.
» When you switch channels with
CH+/-, the locked channels are
skipped.
» When you access the locked channels
from the channel grid, you are
prompted to enter your PIN code.
Change language
You can change the language of the onscreen
menu.
Depending on your broadcaster, you can change
the audio language, subtitle language, or both,
for aTV channel.

Change menu language
1 Press .
2 Select [Setup] > [TV settings] >
[Preferences] > [Menu language], then
press OK.
3 Select a language, then press OK.
Change audio language
You can choose an audio language if it is
available from your broadcaster. For digital
channels, multiple languages may be available.
For analog channels, two languages may be
available.
1 While you watchTV, press OPTIONS.
2 Select [Dual I-II], select the language, then
press OK.
Show or hide subtitles
1 While you watchTV, press SUBTITLE.
2 Select one of the following, then press OK.
• [Subtitles on]: Always display subtitles.
• [Subtitles off]: Never display subtitles.
• [On during mute]:When audio is
muted, display subtitles.
Note
•Repeat this procedure to enable subtitles on each
analog channel.
•Select [Subtitles] > [Subtitles off] to disable subtitles.
View Scenea
You can display a default picture as the
wallpaper on yourTV.You can also load another
picture as the wallpaper.
If the sleeptimer is off, the wallpaper is displayed
for 240 minutes. Otherwise, it is displayed for
the duration of the sleeptimer.
Switch on Scenea
1 Press .
2 Select [Scenea], then press OK.
» If no picture has been set, the default
picture is displayed.
» If a customized Scenea picture is
loaded, that picture is displayed (see
'Customize the Scenea picture' on
page 18).
Customize the Scenea picture
You can load another picture as the wallpaper.
Note
•When you load a new Scenea picture, it overrides the
current Scenea picture.
•To use another picture as the wallpaper, you need a
USB storage device that contains a picture that is less
than 1 MB in size.
1 Load a picture smaller than 1MB in size
into a USB storage device.
2 Connect the USB storage device to theTV.
3 Press .
4 Select [Browse USB], then press OK.
5 Select a picture, then press OPTIONS.
6 Select [Set as Scenea], then press OK.
» A conrmation message is displayed.
7 Press OK to conrm, then press any
button to exit Scenea.

on USB storage devices
